Anthony - thank you - of course. I'll try that! Sometimes the simplest answers elude...

Hi all, I received global radiation data with longitudes of 0-360. I'm currently creating an ascii file to make a raster of the data, but have the following question for next step: How does one convert this in Arc to -180 <> +180 deg? Or maybe I don't need to? I read somewhere that Arc will display the data just fine with 0-360, but won't run calcs on the raster...does that sound right? Anyone have experience with this? Cheers, Cathy

Hi all, I received global data in the form of three text files: one with the data values, one with the lat of each data point, and one with the long of each data point. The data are 1 deg resolution, meaning 360x180 grids, no?. How do I combine these three text files into a usable ascii raster? Cheers! Cathy

Hi all, I've got a raster dataset from which I need to extract all the cells representing the perimeter (the raster is of runoff, and I need all coastal runoff). I was thinking that I could query cells that neighbor a null value (non-land is null value), but I don't know how to craft such a query, or if there's a tool already in place to do this. Any other ideas of how to select perimeter cells? Thanks! Cathy

Hi all, I'm trying to do a simple task: calculate the Standard Deviation of some 50 rasters, with an output of cell-by-cell StDev values. The help file says it can be done in Map Algebra, and provides the syntax Std (<inraster1>,<inraster2>,,,,). When I do this, the error says "Std" is not defined. In reviewing the forums, I haven't found this specific question addressed. I've found more complicated, but similar, questions which received advice that one needs to first calculate the average, then variance, then standard deviation. I'm hoping that this step by step process was only necessary due to the complicating details of the poster's particular problem. Please - anyone know how to accomplish this simple task without typing in the algebra for each step in the StDev calculation???? Thanks, Cathy

Hi all, I'm trying to use Map Algebra/Raster Calculator on some tiff files, all of which are identical in properties but for cell values. I keep getting an unidentified, unexpected error. Am I wrong and tiff files don't work in raster calculator? I converted 2 of them to GRID and tried a simple operation and no luck. I tried an operation on just one, to make sure it really is the files themselves and not my expression. Any ideas? What do I need to do to make them work? They're currently tiff continuous 32-bit floating point rasters. Thank you!

Hi all, I'm trying to import some e00 files in ArcGIS 10 and having difficulty. Whether I use the conversion tool or enter my own python script I get an error that says the files are not recognized. The files came to me in a compressed file which I unzipped with Windows 7...any chance that could have corrupted them? Any ideas? Thanks, Cathy
