Yes, it is working perfectly in your demo and mine, there must be something wrong with the layer management in my project. Thanks for the help!

Hi, As far as I know, MediaLayer and GraphicLayer do not have "index" attribute, so their display order are determined by their sequences in the layer array of the map. This does work for among same layers, so if a GraphicLayer (MediaLayer) is added to map after another layer of its same kind, their graphics (elements) would be displayed on top of the ones from the other layer. However, even if a GraphicLayer is added to map after a MediaLayer, the graphic stills display beneath media elements. Is there a way to control display orders of GraphicLayer and MediaLayer? BTW, I am using verison 4.28. Thank you!

Thanks! This solves the issue perfectly, but it does have a problem in 4.28. Any clue when 4.29 would be officially released?

Thanks for your reply. It sounds a promising way. I am going to try this and see how it works.

Hi, We would like to print Directions with map and instruction like below, which we notice, can be easily done in ArcMap. Is there a way to do this in REST API by create our own GPService. If that, what is the name of this task? Or, is there a way we can call this function in Python? Many thanks, Jacky

Hi, We are using ArcGIS JS API 4.12, and we are trying to draw animation for several vehicles according to their latest GPS coordinates. We used version 3 and just converted to 4, expecting it would have much improvement on performance since it is using canvas rather than SVG. However, the fact is that, the performance seems to be worse. We are seeing enormous memory increment especially on two situations: 1). re-rendering on map for animation (simulate vehicle movement); - Currently, we are using GraphicsLayer. For animation, we do a clone for the graphic and re-add it to layer. Is there a better solution for this? 2). zoom in/out on map; - We doubt that the API is storing a lot of cache in memory when the map extent changes, is there any way/configuration that we can reduce the memory consumption. Currently it could go up to 1 ~ 2 GB easily just pan/zoom on the map. Please let us know if you encounter the same issue or have any thought about these. Thanks, Jacky

I found a solution but you have to use private methods in the API. There is a __pan function (be aware of the double underscores) you can use when handling mouse-drag event, and also you need to take care of some stuff in onPanStart (otherwise the popups' position would be wrong) as well as onPanEnd (to actually apply the drag). It is not good to use private methods and properties directly because it might change without notifications from Esri, but this is the only solution I found so far.

Thanks for the advice, Ken, I have tried this method, but as fcbassongis mentioned, the update events fire only when the viewport changes, so it is not working for my case.

Thanks! It solves my problem perfectly. I thought of this method, but was thinking that the drawing time after the graphic is added might vary when there are too many graphics, but the fact is that it works pretty well!

Hey guys, What I am trying to do is to keep the loading icon until the drawing on the map is done, and I am using GraphicsLayer to display the features. I have tried to use map and layer events including "load", "update", "update-start", "update-end", during the process I clear all the graphics and add new graphics, but none of these events above is triggered. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this but it does not work for stopping default PAN. Actually, I have tried to use preventDefault and stopPropagation methods in "mouse-down", "mouse-drag", "mouse-drag-start" events, but none seems to work. I am thinking that Esri has implemented default PAN in a seperated mechanism, because there are actually "PAN" events, which however can not be stopped unless you use map.disablePan().
