I too just opened a project that I created last week (v3.2.0) and I got the message "Failed to open map view". I tried all of the tricks mentioned above with no luck. This is at least 10 hours of lost work. If there is not a bug reported, I will report it.

@HMustapha We use this tool to transfer items. https://assistant.esri-ps.com/ You have to login to the account where the items are and then add the 'transfer to' account. Then you select and Copy those items. I hope this helps!

Hello, The OP looks like they want to turn off basemap pop-ups. I'd love a setting to do this as well. I teach with web maps and students click on a point and the pop-up shows Maxar for example. It's not obvious to them to use the right arrow to go to the next pop-up dialog. Even a setting to make sure that the basemap pop-up always shows last in the list would be good.

Thanks for this post. I'm currently pretty frustrated since the first Drone2Map tutorial requires advanced license which isn't included. And now I'm trying to do the Wrightsville Beach Getting started training and the versions don't match. I downloaded the installer today (12/15) from MyESRI and updated it locally to 2023.2.1 and the training materials do not match my version. First, is there a way to get version 2.3 so that I may actually be able to follow along? and Second, if the tutorial is so highly version dependent, I would suggest adding language at the top warning users to check their software version. Thanks for any help, Beth

Hello, I'm appreciatative of this post since I was supporting a user who ran into this problem. She had created a sample data set to collect marine organisms by beach goers. Field Maps Designer even has a QR code that you could post. Although all the permissions were set correctly, anonymous users can not edit. I found that if I used the map in the WebAppBuilder with editing widgets and shared that to public, that users were in fact able to add points. See here for an example of a neighborhood TrickOrTreat Map. Treat Mapper (arcgis.com)

Hello! I just had the same problem with tif. Your comment about messing with the symbology led me to click all the buttons until something worked! And for me it was under the Mask tab, and checking the Display Background value 0, and then set to no color! Thanks for leaving this post many years ago. It helped me!! Beth

Hello! We use storymaps at University of Richmond too but usually as a final project/presentation so the student can share to a class group to help organize the content. But I see your problem since they are final exams. What if you made a class group with the students and the instructor (maybe you), have the students press publish but leave unshared, then when it's time to grade, have the admin share the student content to the group, which will be easy to do because they can use the group as a filter. The time stamp will help you see if they alter the assignment after the due date. And remember you can't remove the students from the group once their content is shared to the group because their content will be removed too. I hope this helps!

Hello, I'm running into this problem too. I actually need a tile package and can't just make cache. I've run sample data sets that are small, super simple with only a few high level tile levels and it just hangs at 100 and I end up killing it. Has ESRI created a bug for this?

Hello @JakeSkinner , I am trying to use this tool in Pro3.0 and it is failing. I've used it before with success. I enter the first three parameters and it gives me an error after I enter the password. I am the Admin for my org and we use SSO. I tried using my username and _org name (bzizzami_urichmond) as well but no luck. Any guesses? I've attached a screenshot of my screen. Thanks for any help! Beth

Hello and thank you to Robert! I am using this method to convert a large dataset of coverages across mulitiple directories. I found using wildcard naming conventions useful in sorting throughthe outputs. This is a nice article on that! https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/2.8/help/analysis/geoprocessing/modelbuilder/inline-variable-substitution.htm

Thank you for posting this! I was over here losing my mind. It's very unfortunate that the app requires the old Classic Viewer since my map uses the cluster feature symbology option. At least now I can move on to something else. And hopefully they update the app! THANKS AGAIN!! Beth

Update! I managed to trick it. Here's what I did, in order. On the site's hub page, i changed the name of the original page to gallery1 and it's slug. In Hub's content library, I removed the cloned page from the initiatives content group. In AGOL, I changed the Name of the cloned page to 'Broken'. Not even sure if this is necessary. I reshared it to the initiative's content group from the item detail page. I went back to the Hub manager and linked to existing content, page= Broken. It then allowed me to update the name and slug and finally showed under the list of pages for the site. It also finally allowed me to publish without error, which saved me from redoing all my work. Lastly, I'll edit the original page to delete the "1". This is obviously not a great work around and doesn't not fill me with confidence that cloning is a tool that should be used....but it might be a one-time saver for someone like me who didn't want to redo the finished page. Cheers, Beth from University of Richmond

I'm having a similar problem where the page reverts to the original name so that it becomes a duplicate. It's confusing the both pages and won't let me publish. I can't change the name in AGOL and when i manually get to the new page, it has a bug in the Edit page properties so i can't change it there either. What good is a clone button that renders the page unusable?! I guess I'll delete all my work and start from scratch .

Hello! I'm here because I have the same issue as the OP. I'm the GIS ops manager at a university and we'd like to make and share maps to collect species observations on campus. It would be great to share to the whole university since we don't know which users would need access. To get around this, we have used a generic login (which was added to the group) and then collected names as a text field. I don't like this option but for <kinda> public participation projects, it seems our only option. Any ideas? Thanks for any help! Beth

Hello! I'm having the same issue. A hosted table no longer exists but the reference in the web map is still there. It's very confusing to have an old ghost table throwing an error when the webmap is opened. This is for a University GIS lab so the students get very confused. I'll just have to recreate the web map and update the link in the lab write up. This time it's not a big deal, but it would be a real pain if the map was linked out to StoryMaps or Dashboard. Any update is greatly appreciated!
