Hello. I often see reference to datum NAD 1983(91). However, I don't see NAD 1983(91) listed as the datum in any of ArcGIS 10.4 coordinate systems. Is NAD 1983(91) the same as NAD 1983, which is used in many of ArcGIS's coordinate systems? If not the same, what is the difference between the two datums? And does ArcGIS have any coordinate systems that use NAD 1983(91)? Thank you.

Hello. I am using a SQL Server 2008 database with ArcGIS Server/SDE 10.0. Recently while editing SDE data in ArcMap my internet/network connection went down. Although the connection came back quickly, the database connection in ArcMap didn't seem to think so. I got the error "Unable to save edits. Out of server memory [SDE.Ben]." when I tried to save my edits. Even after I knew the network connection was back it still gave me the same error and wouldn't save. I just had to close ArcMap and lose the edits I made since my last successful save. Is there a way to reconnect a SDE database while in the middle of an editing session without losing edits? Thanks, Ben

Hello. I have a stream feature class. The streams are divided into many, connected line segments. I also have a layer of multiple polygons representing linear ROW areas. My goal is to calculate how many continuous streams pass through the ROW. My workflow has been: Intersect the stream line layer with the polygon ROW layer. This produces a line layer representing only stream lines that fall within the ROW polygons. My next step is to dissolve in a way such that all connected line segments become a single line feature and all unconnected line segments remain as individual features. I used the Dissolve tool, and unchecked the Create Multipart option. I expected this to dissolve all connected line segments into a single feature, but leave unconnected line segments as-is. In areas where there is a stream confluence, this did not happen. The connected segments remained as individual features. I do believe the lines are actually connected; I zoomed in to something like 1:0.1 and they still looked connected. Does anyone know how I can dissolve this stream layer so that all connected line segments become a single feature? Below is a image of what resulted. The numbered segments remained after I ran a dissolve. I want to dissolve them such that these connected segments become a single line feature to represent a single stream crossing. Thank you.

Hello. I have a feature class stored in a SDE geodatabase. The database is sql server 2008. I am using ArcGIS 10. The feature class contains a text field with 8000 character limit. I have to do some editing of this text field and find it very difficult to do so in ArcGIS where the text is presented in a single line. My text is too long to edit in this format. So, I can think of two ways that I could edit efficiently, but I don't know how to accomplish either. 1) Find a way to edit within ArcMap that presents the text in a wrapped, paragraph format. Is this possible? Anyone know how to do this? Something like a HTML popup format would be perfect, if I could edit in it. 2) Export the attribute in another format (such as Excel), make the edits, then join back to the original feature class and update the text field. This was the approach I initially took. However, I ran into a problem. When I export to Excel, the longest fields show up as "########". I can fix this by changing the field formatting to General in Excel. Then I can view the text and make my edits. The major problem comes when I try to view the Excel in ArcMap. The entire field shows up as a BLOB, and then I can't update the text in the feature class. In fact, none of the records show up; it displays as an empty table. I then tried importing the revised Excel as a GDB table first, but when I do that the records do show but the long text field is a BLOB. Anyone know a way around this? Thank you!

Hello. I am reclassifying a slope raster into categories such as 0-1, 1-5, 5-10, etc. I assign my break values as 1, 5, 10. During reclassification how does the tool handle cells with the exact value of the break value? For example, if a cell has a value of exactly 1 does that cell get reclassfied into the 0-1 group or the 1-5 group? Thank you

Hello. Does anyone know how you can display two line symbols that coincide, such that they appear side-by-side on the printed map? For example, displaying coincident county and state boundaries as side-by-side line symbols without having to actually alter the underlying data. Thanks
