Having started my GIS career with ARC/INFO (all caps, with the slash) too many years ago than I care to remember, I am continually amazed by how many things that are so very easy to do today were so very difficult (or impossible) years ago.
This isn't about Esri alone, but rather about the evolution of parallel technologies that have factored into the Esri online GIS landscape.
I like to take my personal experiences and cast them into what you can do easily today, hence my growing series on "maps in a minute" that you can author using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Living Atlas. Here's the current postings in the growing map-in-a-minute series:
Map in a minute: Map smoke and air quality using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Living Atlas
Map in a minute: Map a hurricane using
Map in a minute: Map a hurricane using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Living Atlas
Map in a minute: Map an earthquake using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Living Atlas
Map in a minute: Map a fire using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Living Atlas
It's truly empowering what you can do with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Living Atlas.
