After speaking with support, I will try something in WAB or beta EXB. The goal was create a way for my co-workers, who do not currently have subscriber logins to AGO, to be able to "Markup" utility web map for corrections.

I called support and it is not currently possible to change color or symbols for the Map Notes (saved as feature collections in the AGO web map). May be a good one for enhancement suggestion.

Is it possible to change the symbol colors for Map Notes in a web map? The army green doesn't work well for my use.

I am in the process of remapping the data sources in some older MXDs with georeference3d .tiffs, but they (the .tiff files) do not appear as a Dataset or Layer and Results in the Add Data dialog...did something change? can ArcMap no longer read .tiff? I am at 10.5.1 ...

I had a similar problem around the middle of May (soon after the enhancements to symbols were released for the AGOL Web Map) ESRI support solution was to symbolize in desktop before publishing the service. I lost some data and had a heck of a time rebuilding the attachments (photos). I had changed the symbols for a line feature in the web map (the service was based on LGIM SidewalksCurbRamps FC & had subtypes and domains) ...it continued to work perfectly well in the web map during an edit session. But when opened in Collector (on ipad) the schema of the feature service was destroyed! It switched the line and point feature attributes completely, lost all the domains and subtypes in both as well as in the second point feature class in the service. I don't dare change the symbols in the web map again! at least not until the project is complete and I have a backup of the FS with attachments. I plan to experiment with a copy of the data after the fact just to see if they have fixed whatever caused this. I will let you know what happens...

If you have a decent internet connection in the field just tap "submit" after each feature with a photo attachment is collected. Then to get the photos attached to the file GDB, add the AGOL Feature service to an MXD in desktop, sign is as a User or Publisher (cannot be as an Administrator or your next step will result in an empty GDB), then right click, Edit, Create a local copy for editing and you will find that the photos are attached. I then rename and archive as a backup. This solution was from ESRI support after changing symbols in my web map hosed my data schema in Collector and I had to manually reattach photos by saving them to the ipad, emailing them to myself and attaching them to the features in an AGOL edit session...

It's me again...I found an old school way to re-attach my photos, I emailed them to myself (ipad to desktop) then just saved them to the server and went in each feature and browsed to the file to reattach. I know some programmers could probably write a script for this??? because it is bound to happen to someone else with a lot more records to deal with than I had (only around a hundred)...

I also had (have) an issue with a hosted feature service (FS) with subtypes and domains that was working beautifully in AGOL web maps and on Collector UNTIL I changed the symbol type for the line feature in the web map to use attribute values (i.e. I used the [surface_ type] values to symbolize each type by a different color). The service continued to work , with domains intact, for editing in the web map. However, when I opened the web map in Collector, the domains were replaced with text entry fields. Apparently this may be a bugg according to ESRI Support. I am now on my third support call to repair the feature service with the attachments, the first two calls left me with a new feature service that lost all the original attachments (field photos) and a mess of symbol colors and popups to be reconfigured. So, I rebuild my file geodatabase with records from exports from two of the feature services that contained the records. I then edited all the corrupt or missing attribute data, published a new feature service making sure to define the symbols in ArcMap! But I still wanted my photos! I had saved them to the device (ipad) SO I called support again as I was not able to determine how to attach a photo from a file while in the Collector..... Today Divyan (ESRI Server Support Staff in India) is trying an approach that I hope works, he is creating a replica of the original Feature Service that should have the attachments, through the item details>about>more details>service url>create replica and changing: listing the layers (0,1,2), data format to: File GDB, setting Return Attachments to True...he is downloading the .zip file and hopefully returning a repaired file to me as promised...he just called back and has posted his work for me to download..he was not able to combine the two files....but he is continuing to test the Collector to see if he can reattach the photos from a file on the device.. Let's wish him Best of Luck! AND DON"T USE The new symbols in AGOL till they fix this or write a better warning message.....thanks for letting me vent!

Thanks for the prompt reply. I may try that, I also have an older workstation I need to run V10.0 on for the HAZUS software, so I will give it a try on that box...

Did you change any registry or other settings to get the GDBT V10.0 to work in ArcCatalog V10.2? I am needing to install the GDBT and am running ArcMap 10.2.2, I am getting an error message. I have read the older posts to get the 10.0 tool to run in 10.1 by changing registry settings and wondered if that is what you also did to get the tool to run.

Hi James, I would be interested in following this as we have just installed the Portal on a development server and I would be interested in any responses to your question. I am also wanting to know if the same methods could be used to bring all the data, users, groups and settings over to Portal from AGOL?

Our office is in the process of installing the ArcGIS Portal software on a development server and has been using AGOL for a little over a year. We also have the Community Analyst (CA) subscription which is now accessible from AGOL and allows sharing work from CA to AGOL and AGOL Layers are also accessible now in CA. I have many questions regarding switching to ArcGIS Portal and what would be effected if we discontinue the AGOL subscription. Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated!
