Upgraded ESRI License Manager from 10.5 to 10.5.1

Worked with ESRI Customer Service to migrate named user Pro to concurrent use Pro

Applied provisioning file to license server

Upgraded Pro from 1.4.1 to 2.0 and configured it to use concurrent use license from ESRI license manager

Helpful link:

http://server.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/configure-arcgis-pro-licenses.htm

That clarified that Pro with concurrent use licenses talks directly to the ESRI License Manager – Not Portal for ArcGIS

So, we can bypass all those reference to named user / generate portal configuration steps
