I don't have a solution, but I think I understand why it's happening. From MapView—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation: The activeView property from the ArcGISProject class will either return a MapView object if a map view is active or it will return a Layout or Report object if a layout view or report view is active. Any other type of view will return None. I'm surprised it's not the opposite. When I have used ActiveView before and ran the tool from the Catalog Pane, the active view returns the map or layout that is active. But the Catalog View returns None. You can test the different returns of the ActiveView in the Python Window of Pro. aprx = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject('current') mv = aprx.activeView print (mv.name) For me, my problem was getting an ActiveView when an attribute table was selected. I set my tool to not run until the ActiveView was a map or layout. You might see if ActiveMap works for your needs, it returns the activated map regardless of view pane.

It seems that this happens when the toolbox path is being saved on a DFS path and that this doesn't happen when using a drive letter. The path can be set when creating the toolbox and is set by default with how the Pro Project is saved. I let ESRI know about the problem, and they did not seem to see it as a problem and said to just use drive letters.

Ditto what Hector said. It would be great to see examples of each of the edits listed at the first link, "Data published and versioned through the ArcGIS Enterprise portal allows for edits to be contributed from smartphones, web applications, third-party apps, and even automated scripts using the REST API."- An Introduction to Branch Versioning I would also like to see a blog on how to manage branch versioning in a distributed editing environment. How do you control which users can edit a branch service? Do you need to create a separate non editing service for other users to view the data? Can different people create services, then be able to post only versions created from their service? Can a service ownership be transferred and that new user be able to control the version management?

With map services in Portal and AGOL I am able to label features using attributes. For my project I was using the ESRI USA roads service. https://landscape1.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/USA_Roads/MapServer When I brought the same service into Pro as a service, there were no label options. This seems to be an oversight and should be fixed in future releases of Pro. Working with the helpful ESRI support, we found that adding just the layer from the service into Pro, labels are possible. In this instance: https://landscape1.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/USA_Roads/MapServer/2

I am looking for ArcPro to be a tool that can effectively manage local data, ArcGIS Online/Portal data, and Server data all at the same time. When the ArcCatalog pane was added to the ArcMap application, I could manage my local data directory, SDEs and servers all from a single map. I was hoping that ArcPro would do this and also include a way to manage content in the different online environments. Between different Portals and AGOL it is hard to keep track of all the data. In Pro you can upload and download web maps from your online environments, but you can't overwrite a web map if you make updates to it. That can only be done through the online environment. Switching from Pro to different Portal sites and trying to keep things consistent is easy to get lost in. Having a central content management tool would be great!

It would be great if we could have some kind of metadata for replicas. Something that recorded the user creating the replica and a text box where a user could write an explanation of what point the replica is serving. We try to capture this in the name of the replica, but those can't always capture the full picture.
