Sorry forgot to add the story. http://arcg.is/2pcKBlu Do the points created on story map get backed up by ESRI on the cloud? Is there a way to backup or copy a story map so that if this happens again, we will not lose the data and time needed to recreate the data? Thanks Ben

This same thing has just happened to me. The all tabs except for the main tab will not load. The original data cam from a feature service in AGOL not a CSV. Whats up with this ESRI?

Hello I would like to use a large tile package (.tpk) base map file in Collector. Like many, I have limited storage space on our devices. Can anyone please explain how in Collector I can use tile packages from an external SD card location on an Android device? I have seen that some claim to be able to do this, but I am unclear on some of the phone file storage and root tech jargon. ESRI, is this something you are planning to officially fix in an upcoming update? Thanks in advance for any help or pointers. Cheers Ben

This is a problem for my organization too. I have noticed that if you use a Feature Server instead of a Map Server version of the point service that the selection process works very well. The big problem with this is that the point's display scale is off/very small for Feature Server services.

Thank you very much. Your suggestion about the SQL driver seemed to be the key to this problem. Cheers Ben

Hello. This is what I have below with the PW altered. I was unsure about how to enter the server name. I tried mcgis_sqlmcgis, sqlmcgis, mcgis\sqlmcgis, mcgis sqlmcgis. Thanks import pyodbc conn = pyodbc.connect('DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER= mcgis\sqlmcgis ;UID=sa;PWD=trailertrash;Trusted_Connection=yes', autocommit=True) backup_path = 'C: Backups-GIS-ToExternal ' db = "RWSA_GIS" def backup_db(conn, db, backup_path): cur = conn.cursor() try: cur.execute('BACKUP DATABASE ? TO DISK=?', ) while cur.nextset(): pass cur.close() except: print 'Unable to backup: ' + db backup_db(conn, db, backup_path) conn.close()

Hello I am trying to make a SQL Express .BAK file of an SDE using the PYODBC in pywin32. I have the sample code (below), but am not too sure if I have it set-up correctly. Could anyone explain the parameters in an example? Specifically the connection parameters. When I run the script that I have so far, I am getting an error about SQL. Any help will be appreciated. Ben Error: ('08001', '[08001] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. (17) (SQLDriverConnect); [01000] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (Connect()). (53)') Sample Code that I used from another post: import pyodbc conn = pyodbc.connect('DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER= <server name>;UID=sa;PWD=sa;Trusted_Connection=yes', autocommit=True) backup_path = 'C:\\temp\\' db = "VECTOR" def backup_db(conn, db, backup_path): cur = conn.cursor() try: cur.execute('BACKUP DATABASE ? TO DISK=?', [db, backup_path + db + r'.bak']) while cur.nextset(): pass cur.close() except: print 'Unable to backup: ' + db backup_db(conn, db, backup_path) conn.close()

You need to use Catalog to assign the domains to the field(s) through the SUBTYPES tab of the feature class properties. For some reason the domains also need to be assigned through this tab as well as through the FIELDS tab in the FC properties. After I assigned the domain again through the subtype tab, the drop-down vales would appear in Arc Map.
