Is there any way to force a refresh of a vector tile layer so it gets updated tiles? We're seeing a tile get loaded but it never gets refreshed again even when the cache control max age on the request has expired. How can we trigger fresh tiles to get requested? We're using JSAPI v4.24 and ArcGIS Server v10.9.1. Thanks in advance... Ben

While Portal supports multiple identity stores, is it possible to have one Portal user account that is authenticated by more than one? Sort of a scenario where one identity store is a backup to another, specifically AD and Google. So could a user try and log in with one, and if it is down (or the connection is down) log into the other (either automatically or manually, doesn't matter...), and still be using the same Portal account? Or is it more of a 1:1, where there would be two Portal user accounts, one for one identity store, and one for the other identity store? Thanks! Ben

Hey Manoj, Thanks for the reply. I think we may have a wrinkle, however. The documentation (Configure WMI for nonadministrator accounts specifically) talks about adding an account to the Performance Monitor Users group and the Distributed COM Users group on the target machine. Our target machine where ArcGIS Server is running is Linux (Ubuntu) and not Windows. So those instructions do not appear to be applicable in our case - am I interpreting that correctly? I did verify that we are configured correctly for monitoring a Linux system with the Configure Linux for monitoring instructions (and we have been monitoring that server with a System counter for quite some time). I'm starting to wonder if there is more of a philosophical question to all this: Does the ArcSOC Optimizer work with ArcGIS Server on a Linux system? Thanks, Ben

We are currently running ArcGIS Monitor v10.7.1 and ArcGIS Enterprise v10.7.1. ArcGIS Server is installed on an Ubuntu v16.04 server. In setting up an ArcSOC Optimizer task, the test fails with the following error message: Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\wmi.py", line 1276, in connect File "site-packages\win32com\client\__init__.py", line 72, in GetObject File "site-packages\win32com\client\__init__.py", line 87, in Moniker pywintypes.com_error: (-2147023174, 'The RPC server is unavailable.', None, None) During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred: Traceback (most recent call last): File "ArcSOCOptimizer.py", line 11, in main File "Modules\Outputs\ReportBuilder.py", line 15, in __init__ File "Modules\Outputs\OutputBuilder.py", line 11, in __init__ File "Modules\Inputs\InputBuilder.py", line 27, in __init__ File "Modules\Inputs\arcWMI.py", line 9, in __init__ File "Modules\Inputs\arcWMI.py", line 17, in __GetArcSOCStatsMax File "Modules\Inputs\arcWMI.py", line 48, in __GetArcSOCCount File "site-packages\wmi.py", line 1290, in connect File "site-packages\wmi.py", line 241, in handle_com_error wmi.x_wmi: <x_wmi: Unexpected COM Error (-2147023174, 'The RPC server is unavailable.', None, None)> Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\wmi.py", line 1276, in connect File "site-packages\win32com\client\__init__.py", line 72, in GetObject File "site-packages\win32com\client\__init__.py", line 87, in Moniker pywintypes.com_error: (-2147023174, 'The RPC server is unavailable.', None, None) During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred: Traceback (most recent call last): File "ArcSOCOptimizer.py", line 11, in main File "Modules\Outputs\ReportBuilder.py", line 15, in __init__ File "Modules\Outputs\OutputBuilder.py", line 11, in __init__ File "Modules\Inputs\InputBuilder.py", line 27, in __init__ File "Modules\Inputs\arcWMI.py", line 9, in __init__ File "Modules\Inputs\arcWMI.py", line 17, in __GetArcSOCStatsMax File "Modules\Inputs\arcWMI.py", line 48, in __GetArcSOCCount File "site-packages\wmi.py", line 1290, in connect File "site-packages\wmi.py", line 241, in handle_com_error wmi.x_wmi: <x_wmi: Unexpected COM Error (-2147023174, 'The RPC server is unavailable.', None, None)> We have been currently monitoring that server box using a system counter for quite some time without issue. I also slugged my way past (I think) the authentication issues in getting the task built. In any case, the ArcGIS Monitor Credentials used also have sudo/admin privileges on the ArcGIS Server box. Anyone have any thoughts on what to look at or how to proceed? Thanks for any assistance! Ben

By any chance, are you trying to run Operations Dashboard through a Remote Desktop session? It would crash on me in a similar situation (in my case an Amazon Workspace), and I found the solution at the bottom of this thread. If that isn't the case, are you getting any sort of error messages? Do you get the same behavior on other machines?

Thanks for the pointer, Jon. I found with the latest version - WAB 2.5 and JS API 3.21 - the issue still exists. But in addition to editing esri/arcgis/utils, I had to edit the same line in init.js (at the root of the API) as well for it to work in WAB (looks like esri/arcgis/utils is compiled into there...). But couldn't have figured it out without your post - thanks!

I am trying to set a time interval on a dynamic map service to only see a certain time slice of the data without success (I do not want to impose the time interval on the map). Here's some sample code: import QtQuick 2.3
import QtQuick.Controls 1.2
import ArcGIS.Runtime 10.26
ApplicationWindow {
id: appWindow
width: 800
height: 600
title: "Time Interval"
Map {
id: mainMap
anchors.fill: parent
hidingNoDataTiles: false
wrapAroundEnabled: true
focus: true
ArcGISTiledMapServiceLayer {
url: "http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Street_Map/MapServer"
}
ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer {
url: "http://tmservices1.esri.com/arcgis/rest/services/LiveFeeds/Earthquakes/MapServer"
timeInterval: myTimeExtent
Component.onCompleted: {
console.log("timeInterval is undefined:", timeInterval == undefined);
}
}
onStatusChanged: {
if (status === Enums.MapStatusReady)
mainMap.zoomTo(usExtent);
}
}
Envelope {
id: usExtent
xMax: -15000000
yMax: 2000000
xMin: -7000000
yMin: 8000000
spatialReference: SpatialReference {
wkid: 102100
}
}
TimeExtent {
id: myTimeExtent
startDate: new Date(2016, 2, 26, 0, 0, 0, 0)
endDate: new Date(2016, 2, 27, 0, 0, 0, 0)
}
} Not only does it not set a timeInterval, the timeInterval is still undefined after the onCompleted (timeInterval == undefined resolves to true). Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! Ben

Well, I went through things and discovered the following: The placement of the QML folders is actually fine with the template application. I do not need to rearrange them for whatever reason. The application simply needed the EsriRuntimeQt.dll. That was the only change needed to make it run. So the last item brings up a question: where did I miss seeing the need to copy that out of the ArcGIS Runtime install directory manually (outside of generic statements like "associated resources")? I also stumbled across the DeploymentTool.exe in the Runtime installation and it appears to bundle the EsriRuntimeQt.dll for future deployment. However, I'm not finding any documentation on it as well. I know I'm missing the boat somewhere...! But I do want to say thanks, Luke, for putting me on the right track. Any additional insight you can add on these things would be great! Ben

Dropping the .exe in with the Sample App did get it to run, so clearly it is something with how I'm deploying! I'll look into the QML folder level and report back... Thanks, Luke! Ben

I am running Qt Creator 3.6.0 based on Qt 5.5.1 and the ArcGIS Runtime Qt 10.26, compiling to MSVC 2013 32-bit . I build an ArcGIS Runtime 10.2.6 Qt Quick Application using the straight template (no additions) and deploy it, complete with running qtwindeploy.exe in the Qt 5.5 32-bit for Desktop (MSVC 2013) command window after running the vcvarsall.bat to complete the environment setup. Running the resulting deployed executable does nothing - no error messages, no alerts, no entries in the Windows Event Viewer, no application, no nothing - on any machine I copy everything to (including the machine it was developed on). The resulting directory that I deployed: It builds and runs within Qt Creator without any problems - I see the map and I'm able to pan, zoom, etc. If I simply create a Qt Quick application using that out-of-the-box template and deploy it following the same process, its executable runs as expected. If I take that same Qt Quick application, add the ArcGIS Runtime to the project file: TEMPLATE = app
QT += qml quick
CONFIG += c++11 arcgis_runtime_qml10_2_6
SOURCES += main.cpp
RESOURCES += qml.qrc
# Additional import path used to resolve QML modules in Qt Creator's code model
QML_IMPORT_PATH =
# Default rules for deployment.
include(deployment.pri) and simply import the ArcGIS runtime into a .qml file: import QtQuick 2.5
import ArcGIS.Runtime 10.26
Rectangle {
property alias mouseArea: mouseArea
width: 360
height: 360
MouseArea {
id: mouseArea
anchors.fill: parent
}
Text {
anchors.centerIn: parent
text: "Hello World"
}
} The resulting executable will not run again without any message or anything indicating what went wrong. And note, I didn't even add any ArcGIS controls (e.g. Map). While there is not error indicated in the Edit, in Design there is the following issue: which is curious and my only indication of any sort of problem. This app builds and runs fine within Qt Creator too. If anyone has any suggestions on things to look at, I sure would appreciate it! I have successfully deployed the same code to Android, so it really has narrowed down to Windows (and my inability to figure out what I'm missing...!). Thanks! Ben

Oops, for whatever reason rest of your message wasn't showing... To get the default action option into the configuration window, include supportDefaultFeatureAction in your widget manifest file under configuration: ...
"configuration": {
"requireDataSource": true,
"supportFeatureActions": true,
"supportDefaultFeatureAction": true,
"path": "config/myWidgetConfig.html"
},
... I seem to recall this isn't documented - I think I trialed and errorred it...! Yikes. So I guess I should say use at your own risk! Ben

The WidgetProxy.executeDefaultAction method takes either an array of OBECTIDs or an array of features. It's not clear to me how the system knows which layer the OBJECTIDs belong to, but I haven't used that route at all to see. But the array of features is simply an array of Graphic objects that either you can use from an existing source or create from scratch. So I think that's where you'll utilize your feature list either directly or parsing it into an array (depending on what form it is in to begin with...). Hopefully that makes sense? Ben
