Thanks for pointing the blog which works nicely with the current map viewer. There's a new map viewer beta that is now available in ArcGIS Online that automatically shows attachments as images in the pop-up so no need to click on a hyperlink. Here are a couple of blogs I recommend to get you started: Introducing the next generation of map making with Map Viewer Beta Fast, flexible and fun: The new pop-up experience in the next generation Map Viewer Beta Alternatively, you could also host the images in ArcGIS Online and point to the image url in the pop-up (assuming that the ArcGIS Online image url is not blocked by the group policy). Best of luck!

I opened the table of a test feature layer and added a new field, selected Arcade, then pasted the expression you shared, and it successfully calculated for me so your expression is correct. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the attachment. Can you share a screenshot of the error and describe the steps before when you receive it? If it is easier to jump on a call to share your screen, please feel free to email me.

Hi Adam, the new map viewer will show the attachment as an image in the pop-up. No need to do all this! If you have more than one attachment, you can choose to show the images as a list if you like.

Hi Thomas, will your data update regularly? If not, the easiest way to do this is to add a field and hard-code an iframe. You will use arcade to create a unique iframe for each row. If you add this in your pop-up, it will automatically play when you click the pop-up. However, I have not figured out how to make this work in 4x (the new map viewer beta). To address this, create the popup and map in the current map viewer (3x), add it to a 3x app like Minimalist and embed the Minimalist app in StoryMaps (4x). Here is a layer, map, app, and story that I created to test this. Create a field for CountAttachments and AttachID (instructions in blog above). Then create a field called url and use arcade to fill in everything below. Note: your Part 1 variable is the only thing that will be different. Click on your audio file to view the url that you will fill in here. var iframe1 = "<iframe width='xxx' height='xxx' src= " var Part1 = "https://services1.arcgis.com/4yjifSiIG17X0gW4/arcgis/rest/services/TestAudioFile/FeatureServer/0/" var ObjectID = $feature.OBJECTID var Part2 = "/attachments/" var AttachID = $feature.AttachID var iframe2 = " frameborder='0' allowfullscreen></iframe>" When($feature.CountAttachments > 0, iframe1 + Part1 + ObjectID + Part2 + AttachID + iframe2, null) Then go to the pop-up and choose the url field. I first tried to add this as an arcade expression in the pop-up (instead of hard-coding it in), but it just shows the iframe text in the final pop-up instead of embedding the audio player. This is the best workaround I could come up with so I'm interested if this works for you and if you discover an alternative method. Best of luck!

Hi Andrew, check out the Map Viewer Beta. Here, you can view all attachments in your pop-up without writing any arcade expression. You can also choose to view attachments as lists. Here's a helpful blog about it: Fast, flexible and fun: The new pop-up experience in the next generation Map Viewer Beta

You've got lots of great layers, maps, and apps out in the ArcGIS Online world, but if you really want your work to be seen and used by others, try hosting it in the Living Atlas of the World. It's a home for items that have gone through a quality check so that you can know that you're seeing the best work out there. Esri created a Contributor App which makes it really easy for you to nominate your items into the Living Atlas. I created this short video to show you how and why you should use this app. Enjoy!

To showcase Esri's newest hillshade layer, I created a Story Map based off of Rajinder Nagi's blog. The Story Map, titled Introducing Esri's Next Generation Hillshade, provides captivating examples in both 2D and 3D of how you can use the hillshade layer to add greater detail to your maps. Using hillshade to visualize landcover in the Alps. Mount Rainier and its glacial remains in Washington. Mount Rainier in 3D with imagery draped over the hillshade layer.

Lisa Berry, Jim Herries, and I created a predominance tool that allows you to determine the predominant variable within a group of variables. For example, you might want to visualize the various counts of different ethnicities by county in the U.S. With the predominance tool, you can now map the dominating ethnic group by county (see image below). This tool is now ready to download in GitHub- simple instructions included!

Who are the people served by your city's transit system? And who isn't, but should be? How does transit change throughout the day? And what is the best way to analyze service areas? These questions and more are answered in this compelling Map Journal of new ways to view public transportation. You'll learn helpful best practices through examples of public library access in Chicago, Illinois and transit availability in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I created this Map Journal for Melinda Morang to present at the GIS in Transit conference this past month in D.C. and it was a hit! This Map Journal is also featured as an Esri blog.
