We are about to upgrade a license manager from 10.5.1 to 2023, but are wondering if it will lose all our loaded concurrent ArcMap (10.5 - 10.8) licenses and we will need to reload our licenses into it? Or does it keep the old licenses onboard with the upgrade and they will start working immediately when we start running the new license server?

Good point. We are running: SQL 2012 R2 ArcGIS Desktop 10.3.1 Yes, edits to Default Two nightly processes. One is the compression. Another is exports of the feature classes to shapefiles as a backup. Thanks!

We're having editing issues with a feature class in our SQL SDE, it seems to shift after edits have been made from one day to the next. There is also an issue that when both Venessa and I are looking at the same area on separate screens we will see two totally different things in the same area of interest. What could be the cause of this and what we can do to fix this??

How do we restore a feature class from a SQL Server database backup? And more specifically, how do we restore only a child version of that feature class? Is this crazy difficult or easy? Any tips or guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've had that problem before. Was more related to the items set to scale dependencies and the print scale was somehow slightly different than the map, and it turned itself off as a result.

Thanks! She was in our system as a user. I changed her to a publisher and that worked. If you can pass this along - Requiring somebody to be a system-wide publisher to use a single app breaks our permissions system. We don't want her to be able to publish maps across the board. So if ESRI could make it so users can utilize an app fully without having such power across the entire enterprise, that would work much better for all of us. Thanks!

We are trial testing Geoplanner and the option at startup to allow us to make a new project doesn't exist. Is that turned off for trial versions?

We want to update our ArcGIS Online presence to use our company's Active Directory logins for accounts. The problem is, we already have dozens of accounts already made for specific people using the built-in account system. Will enabling the AD logins break the use of the built-in ArcGIS Online accounts?

We're a city of about 90,000 people using ESRI's small govt. ELA. We have been using ArcGIS Server for a few years and also have started using ArcGIS online for organizations. There are a few users in a couple departments that have layers/maps that need to be secure. The police department has a few things that come to mind and so does our planning department. We want to publish our maps so that the general public can see/use most of it with the exception of the few sensitive items. We want to use ArcGIS Online as the main method for people to consume the maps. We also want the Police and Planning individuals to use ArcGIS Online to see their secured information no matter where they are, but with minimal interference of (them or me) having to keep up with tokens, databases of passwords and other stuff. What is the most simple to use and manage method for us to publish layers and maps via AGS to ArcGIS Online, making most of them require no login/security and just a few of them secure for certain users? And what would it look like from the user's point of view? We don't have a ton of staff or resources to develop a complicated solution that requires lots of management time. And the users are intolerant of lots of logging in and out. We want people to want to use this, not feel like it's "too much work" and just try to get by with Google maps instead. Any ideas? Any tips are greatly appreciated!

This looks rather buggy. Doesn't happen with other mapping software (AGS, IMS, Freeance). If a feature has curves, it won't render until zoomed in further? Has to be a fix for this somewhere...

Several of our map services have recently stopped returning any results if you try to select features on their maps. Is there a setting to turn this off and on or something? Or is there a common culprit that causes this that we can fix? Thanks, Brett

I'm having trouble changing our services from direct connections to three-tier. I get error messages when doing so. Can I get some guidance? I change the connection properties to port 5151, and that should be all, right?

I'm trying to implement the printing solution found at http://tinyurl.com/38ul8vf. I get stuck pretty early and could really use a few tips to get it working. My first problem is I don't quite understand the instructions. Do I want to do the PHP printing solution? How do I implement it? Thanks! (Head scratching icon here)
