Bart, I most likely will be giving a presentation at the ESRI Developer conference in Palm Spring. I don't go to the UC any more as the developer conference is more geared for me as a developer. Thats too bad for a lot of us, perhaps I will put in for the Dev Summit for next year.

I like the new python category, Chris was a wonderful champion in this effort. It seems like a much easier time to reference now, compared to trying to pull out of the old GP, or even general category, so thank you Jim and Chris. It does appear that Dan is still a bit upset, perhaps a new poll could be created in the Image of Mr Dan Patterson, and the others who feel as Dan feels, so perhaps we can then debate the merits of removing the new python forum, its a thought...

Way to go, Mr Jim Barry, seems a bit crazy that this hasn't been finalized yet, but then out of 31,744 members on these forums there are only 79 replies, seems like a no brainer on NOT implementing a new forum. Seems like the new forums were a replacement for the old forums, but if we keep adding new forum threads, aren't we going to end up with the old broken forums, I don't know, perhaps we should just have a good tagging system, and quality search, with a few generalized categories, however, I do see the ability to search by a specific category as useful, but if tagging is done successfully, this would be a bit redundant.

Ahh, I am that user, but Tim Peters changed my mind since that post, I now follow the Zen of Python to the extreme.

If the implementation is hard to explain, it's a bad idea.

Keep it simple. Thats the whole philosophy ain't it. Beautiful is better than ugly. Simple is better than complex. Sparse is better than dense.

Put my vote in as well for splitting up these here forums for gp, into scripting (python) and at least Model Builder, along with General GP.

When is a Parcel polygon a Non Simple Geometry? I recently ran the invalid Check for our parcel layer and it came up with 2 problem polygons that were listed as non simple polygons. Not sure why that would be the case, though.

Drawing box for measure area is splotchy. Also, there should be a pop up box telling me the hectares, rather than going to contents and click open pop up.

When using the measure tool, the feedback when the measurement is added to the display is not as I would expect. The initial display is pretty good, but when it is added, it degrades badly. ftp://ftp.esri.com/pub/incoming/CountyOfRiverside/2010-03-10_1517_measure_explorer.swf
