Hello, I have access to an Enterprise Portal 10.9.1, where I have created an EB application and am working on it to add more data and functionality. Further down the line, we would be getting a new environment where a separate instance of ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 will be setup. I want to be able to download the application which I'm working on the current Enterprise Portal 10.9.1 and import it in the new Enterprise Portal 10.9.1 once it is ready, so that future development can happen in the new environment. I have not seen any download option or import option yet for EB within Enterprise Portal 10.9.1. Is this possible to do? I do not want to be in a situation when suddenly I realize that I need to develop the application from scratch again in the new Enterprise Portal 10.9.1. Regards, Apurv

Hello, We're planning to change RAM on our servers which are virtual machines. We have four types of changes planned. 1. Increase RAM on Server 1. This server has ArcGIS Desktop installed and is authorized using single-use license. Also, Portal for ArcGIS is installed on this server. 2. Increase RAM on Server 2. This server has ArcGIS Server installed and authorized. 3. Server 3 - Same as point 1 above but here RAM will be decreased. 4. Server 4 - Same as point 2 above but here RAM will be decreased. My question is will increasing or decreasing RAM on these servers have any impact on functioning of ArcGIS Desktop, Portal and Server and also their respective licenses? Is there any need to de-authorize the licenses or even uninstall the products before changing RAM size? The version is 10.7.1 on Windows 2016. Regards, Apurv

Hello, We have an application which is built using Web App Builder and it uses the ESRI resource proxy (.Net latest version 1.1.2) to access ArcGIS Online and other URL's accessible on internet. The proxy application has been setup in IIS with anonymous authentication. Pinged the proxy and it worked fine. https://[server]/[proxyname]/proxy.ashx?ping Initially, I tried accessing ArcGIS Online URL via the proxy without making any changes in proxy config or application: https://[server]/[proxyname]/proxy.ashx?https://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer?f=json Got the following error. {"error": {"code": 403,"message":"Proxy has not been set up for this URL. Make sure there is a serverUrl in the configuration file that matches: https://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer?f=json https://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer?f=json"}} This means that the error message was coming from proxy application only as it mentioned “serverUrl” parameter. Now by default the following rule is already present in the default version of proxy.config <serverUrl url="http://services.arcgisonline.com" matchAll="true"/> Still the above error message for “ServerUrl” came. So I added another “ServerUrl” as given below. <serverUrl url="https://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer?f=json" matchAll="true"/> I didn’t mention any user or password or domain. Now I got the following error while trying to access AGOL URL via proxy. {"error": {"code": 500,"message":"Unable to connect to the remote server https://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer?f=json"}} This suggests that proxy application is unable to access internet. So now I changed the following line in proxy.ashx to use our organization proxy. private static System.Net.IWebProxy SYSTEM_PROXY = new WebProxy("[Our organization proxy PAC file]",true); //System.Net.HttpWebRequest.DefaultWebProxy; // Use the default system proxy After I did this change the AGOL URL was accessible via proxy. However after some time when I tried to access same URL: https://[server]/[proxyname]/proxy.ashx?https://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer?f=json Getting this error (In Chrome) This site can’t be reached The webpage at https://[server]/[proxyname]/proxy.ashx?https://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer?f=json might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_UNEXPECTED_PROXY_AUTH Error in IE You must be authenticated by a proxy before the Web server can process your request. Why is this happening? Operating System is Windows Server 2016. IIS version is 10. ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS version is 10.7.1. Regards, Apurv

Hello, We have been extracting reports from ArcGIS Monitor on a daily basis, monitoring ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS. Since last few days there is no data in the report. All reports are the same, and few tabs in the report excel sheet are missing. If I try to see graphs on the ArcGIS Monitor dashboard, I see a message "No data available". Interestingly this is happening only for one of the collectors, the other collector is getting data correctly. Any suggestions on what could be the reason the collection is failing for one of the collectors? Versions as given below. ArcGIS Monitor 10.6.1 ArcGIS Server 10.4.1 Portal for ArcGIS 10.4.1 Regards, Apurv

Hello John, As per the link given below, it mentions choosing the Request Type(under HTTP) as ArcGIS Token. Then put the URL you want to monitor in the "Url" box and enter the Token URL for ArcGIS Server as well as adding the ArcGIS Server admin credentials in the "Add Credentials". Add HTTP In order to monitor ArcGIS Online services, what would be the token URL format and what credentials should be added here? Especially for the services which are accessible within the organization? Thank you for your assistance. Regards, Apurv

Hello, I am getting a similar error message in the Search method while doing spatial query in ArcObjects (C#). The code is given below. public IFeatureCursor GetOSMMGeometry(IFeature pFeederFeature, IFeatureClass pOsmmFC, string osmm_FeatCodeList) { ISpatialFilter pSpatialFilter = null; IFeatureCursor pOsmmCursor; try { pSpatialFilter = new SpatialFilterClass(); pSpatialFilter.Geometry = pFeederFeature.ShapeCopy; pSpatialFilter.GeometryField = pOsmmFC.ShapeFieldName; pSpatialFilter.SpatialRel = esriSpatialRelEnum.esriSpatialRelIntersects; pSpatialFilter.WhereClause = "FEATCODE IN (" + osmm_FeatCodeList + ")"; pSpatialFilter.SubFields = "*"; pOsmmCursor = pOsmmFC.Search(pSpatialFilter, false); return pOsmmCursor; } catch(Exception ex) { } } Exception details given below. The "pOsmmFC" contains around 8 million features, but I am only interested in 4 feature codes, which are applied in the where clause of the spatial filter. I also tried Select By Location in ArcMap using the same two feature classes and selected the same polyline feature on the map, and tried do perform spatial query on the OSMM polygon feature class using only the selected feature, and it gave the output showing 257 intersecting features. Why isn't the same working in ArcObjects? The ArcGIS version is 10.4.1 on Oracle database 12c. We are using SDO Geometry as the geometry type for geodatabase. Regards, Apurv

Hello Kevin, These suggestions have worked for us and we no longer need to disable versioning, archiving and editor tracking for most of the data model changes. However one question I still have is that if any fields get added or modified in a feature class, which participates in a replica, then does the replica need to be dropped and recreated? Presently whenever we need to create a new featureclass, and it should be part of replica, we need to drop and recreate the replica. Similarly do field addition/modification/removal or even subtype/domain changes in a featureclass affects the replica? Regards, Apurv

Thanks George. I ran the SQL logging in as SDE user and this is the result in our staging database. Looks like all are valid. However, now we have a strange observation. Now when we do a reconcile/post to SDE.DEFAULT the error is not coming. But when we run "Synchronize Changes" python script to replicate the data updates from our staging database to consumption database, we are getting the error as given below. Synchronisation Started at Time 2018-10-08 10:50:58.501000 Source SDE = [Our staging database SDE connection] Replication ID = [Our replica name] Target SDE = [Our consumption database SDE connection] Exception caught at :2018-10-08 10:51:14.283000 Code = 1 (FAILURE), Underlying DBMS error [ORA-29861: domain index is marked LOADING/FAILED/UNUSABLE] Error on Line 86 Replica Synchronisation Failed for Site Area Code = Underlying DBMS error [ORA-29861: domain index is marked LOADING/FAILED/UNUSABLE] Now I ran the same SQL query in our consumption database, and I see there is an index which is in FAILED state. How to drop and rebuild this index? Also our staging database is versioned, while consumption is non-versioned. Thanks for your help. Regards, Apurv

Hi, We recently migrated our Oracle geodatabase from AIX to Oracle Linux platform. The geodatabase version is 10.4.1. We're using SDO_Geometry as our spatial type. While doing our database checks, we encountered an error while doing a reconcile/post. As per our versioning framework, we have SDE.Default as the top version in hierarchy. Below that, we have 3 user schema versions - Schema1.ADMIN, Schema2.Admin, Schema3.Admin , all of them are children of SDE.Default. Now under each schema admin version we have further children which are the user versions. So for example, we have a version Schema1.User1 which is child of Schema1.ADMIN, which in turn is child of SDE.Default. Now in the migrated database, we did some edits in Schema1.User1 version, which were successfully reconciled and posted to Schema1.ADMIN. The error has come when we do reconcile and post from Schema1.ADMIN to SDE.Default. Here reconcile still works, it is in the post that we get this error. The ESRI article in the link given below is applicable for ArcSDE 9.2-9.3.1 and for ST_Geometry. In our case we do not have ArcSDE, we have ESRI Geodatabase 10.4.1 and enabled SDO_Geometry. Error: ORA-29861: domain index is marked LOADING/FAILED/UNUSABLE What could be the cause of this? Is it related to tablespace or something else? Regards, Apurv

Hi Uday, Before querying the versioned view in my stored procedure I wrote the following statement. sde.version_util.set_current_version(Version_Name); After that I wrote the query to retrieve the data from this version. Lastly you need to set the current version back to SDE.DEFAULT, so you must call the function again after getting the data. For some reason which I cannot recall , I had to do this particular thing in a separate stored procedure which has just one line which is to set the current version. So I made 2 SP calls - first one containing setting the query version, and executing the query to get the data. 2nd one simply to set the current version back to SDE.DEFAULT. This approach worked for me. I am not sure if you can write the last statement to set back to SDE.DEFAULT in the same stored procedure, but you can try. Hope this input helps. Regards, Apurv

Hi Jonathan, In my case I need to migrate the ArcGIS Server 10.4.1 to a new server with different hostname and IP address. I would need to uninstall ArcGIS Server on the old server and freshly install ArcGIS Server on the new server. I am using a lot of map services and some feature services. Also I have Oracle geodatabase connections, and folders having data registered with ArcGIS Server. There are no users or roles except for the site administrator. Also, 1 site has 1 GIS server machine only. Also web adaptor has been configured with IIS, so I'm planning to install ArcGIS Server and configure Web Adaptor on the new server. However, Before uninstalling ArcGIS Server from old server, what steps need to be taken. After installing ArcGIS Server and configuring web adaptor in new server, what steps need to be taken. I want to minimize the work as much as possible. I don't want to publish each and every service again, or register all the data sources again. Thanks for your help. Regards, Apurv

As discussed in earlier posts in this thread, you cannot instantiate ArcObjects classes within a .Net Web service as there are limitations. Hence go for ArcGIS Server REST API "addFeatures" or "ApplyEdits" or create geoprocessing services of your own and call either of them in your web service. For one of our requirements we used "addFeatures" method from REST API in a web service to create point and polygon features in non-versioned feature classes. You can also try Oracle Spatial functions or methods in case your geodatabase is based on Oracle; though I'm not very sure how it could be done. Hope that helps. Regards, Apurv
