This sounds like a great idea. I can't wait for Esri to implement it!

So I had a bit of workflow learning to do on this one... What I've learned with Story Maps so far: Once you publish a webmap from Pro, what you are looking at in Pro is not going to sync, publishing creates a copy on AGOL. To edit this copy, in Catalog go to Portal and Open that copy - then you can update symbology and layer order etc. You can edit the feature layer geometry too. You cannot add more layers from other sources though. Instead, create a third map with these new layers and publish those as a separate Web Feature Layer (WFL), then add that WFL back to Map 2 and then choose "Save Web Map" (or you can add the WFL in the Agol Map Viewer). What I still haven't solved is how to share a storymap publically that contains an editable WFL. I'd like the Story Map to essentially only see a Map Service but I can't publish Map Services to AGOL, they need to be Feature Services. It's a bit of an annoying bind. I don't want to make the WFL publically accessible, because I don't want it edited by externals, but I would like externals to view it.

I'm new to Story Maps and I'm hoping I'm looking for some guidance please. Ingredients: - ArcGIS Pro 2.7 - Layers stored in a local gdb - 2d web map produced in Pro by hitting "Share as web map - editable:copy all features" - Updates and changes to the data in the layers mentioned above Issue: I make updates to the data in my gdb. I add the published web map back from the portal to ArcGIS Pro 2.7. I can change the symbology, layer order etc and use "save web map" function. When I hit save the map refuses, citing that a WFL with same name already exists. No option to over write. That's just the end of the story. How do I replace a layer in a WFL with a more up to date version from a local gdb? Or, if i update directly but need to add a new layer to my webmap, how do I include this new layer and "save web map"? Many thanks

Hi everyone, I too run into this frustration but I believe I know the cause (but not the solution, which I realise is frustrating). Domains and sub-types are an enterprise database feature. AGOL does not run an enterprise database - I'm not certain what it runs under the hood but it most definitely isn't Oracle or SQL enterprise DBs. When you publish X number of map or feature services that use the same domain, unbeknownst to you, you have now duplicated that domain X times. So if you choose, in AGOL to edit it, you need to edit it X times. Domains stop applying across all layers and only apply to one layer at a time. When you add any of these feature layers back into ArcGIS Pro, you cannot edit the domains because, secretly they aren't really domains anymore.

That's some good detective work Jeff. When you add the beta map to the beta Experience Builder does the same issue persist? I've got a feeling the list, which is docked, is kind of replacing the pop-up. Well, I see the potential that it could. Being able to dock the pop up like a panel would be great. Having it inset from the map edge isn't fantastic for mine. Or the List can replace Pop-ups for the most part.

The beta's implementation, whilst only partial, is good but could it please go further? When you dock the popup and click on a clustered feature, you see a count that it contains multiple features but you have no way to expand or view them. It's just a dead end. You can't dock the popup as a panel, it hovers over the map, obscuring it. It loses any connection to the feature you clicked on in the first place. Could I please, as the map author, allow the popup to be as tall as necessary to fit all the fields? If a layer has 3 fields, then shrink it, if it has 30 then expand it to be top to toe of the map. Scrolling up and down a pop up on a mobile device is not fun.

Hi Suzanne, Isn’t this fire station and personnel example a one to many relationship? One spatial feature of fire station can have many aspatial records (personnel)? In the post you mention this is a many to one...I’m confused how it could be. Care to share?

Thanks Kory. One of those ideas is from 2010 and has 84 votes, forgive me for thinking it wasn't for relevant software or seemingly on an implementation plan.

Thanks for taking the time to generate the screenshots. I can't believe we can't change features that are applicable to all currently selected symbols, like border weight. It would also be great to not only be able to set this value but also have the option to bump the current weights up or down. That way, if differing weights are set, they all increment up and stay different sizes relative to each other. Outline should be accessible regardless of the symbol shape that's applied too.

Inside the table of contents there's an under utilised tab, the List by Source tab. The reason, I feel, it is under utilised is because you can't do a lot with it, other than see the sources of your data. There's no real control or editing to be done here. I think it'd be great if you could right click on a datasource and choose 'repoint source'. Often in production environments you load data first into a replica working geodatabase, being able to quickly swap this to the production database would be fantastic. If it was smart enough to match the layers that are in both and leave, unchanged, non-matching layers, that would be great too. It would also be great to 'export list of layers and sources to file' - essentially exposing this function: https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000011530 but allowing the user to save a table or text file.

How come a three year old idea is still listed as New? I'm confused. It'd be great to give web users the ability to control their label display states.

I've found a minor irritation in the subtypes window. If you have a few subtypes and have to scroll to the right, the tables goes out of alignment. Suddenly the domains you wanted to ensure were consistently applied are now not in the row where you started. You can pull the tab out and the issue goes away. Re-dock it, it returns. It doesn't cause a crash. It's just a minor annoyance. What's most odd is how the alignment corrects itself after 2 incorrect subtypes.

I've got this issue this morning. For me it is happening on a course that I am trying to resume. Clicking on this link in Chrome just gives me perpetual loading bars: https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/5d52f2232e0e374b8f3c7dc7/determine-how-location-impacts-interest-rates/ IE is working fine. That pains me. It's definitely something within the Esri.com domain though. Any link I'm clicking, even for things like "next page" I'm getting a 400 error. Whether it's the training catalog, or blog posts.

Hi Kory, I think but can't be certain as there are a number of security groups that apply to that folder but the most likely one that I'm in only has a tick against 'Allow: List folder contents'. No other ticks anywhere else.

Kory, It was indeed a permissions issue that denied access. When I got a copy of the aprx and gdb in a more accessible location the aprx loaded as expected. Still, it'd be good to change the error message that Pro is throwing about a software version issue.
