The syntax I used for the Raster Calculator is: "Raster1.tif" - "Raster2.tif" Is there some other syntax I should use? Do the cells need to be aligned spatially? Thanks

I've been trying to run a difference between two sample bathymetric datasets using either Minus or Raster Calculator. However, I keep getting the following sequence of errors: For Minus: ERROR 99999: Error executing function The table name is invalid. No spatial reference exists. ERROR 010302: Unable to create the output raster: drive:\New_raster ERROR 010067: Error in executing grid expression. Failed to execute (Minus) For RasterCalculator: ERROR 000539: Error running expression: rcexec() <type 'exceptions.RuntimeError'>: ERROR 010240: Could not save raster dataset to drive:\New_raster I tried running this process using the rasters as part of file geodatabases and as non-geodatabase tiffs. The projected coordinate systems are the same and the resolution for both is 30 m. Both have a bander number of 1 and are floating point values. Thanks

Hey, thanks again Steve. I figure I'll just have to split up the dataset into different parts, perform the interpolation individually, and mosaic them together. Ultimately, I'm trying to replicate a process performed by another ArcMap analyst who did just that. I do still have a few questions about Topo to Raster that I can't quite figure out though. The boundary I'm using is a polygon shapefile that exactly matches the extent on the lower reach of the river (It's the first boundary of three that I created from the original polygon). What is the difference between using the input boundary parameter and the output extent? My understanding is that the output extent encompasses all the data such that it will interpolate the upstream edge properly even though the boundary cuts off the raster output at that edge. Also, my input feature shapefile is point elevation data. Is there any difference between using this as an input or by making a contour shapefile from the point elevations and using that as the input for the Topo to Raster calculation? Drew

Hi, I'm trying to perform a TopoToRaster interpolation of bathymetric data that falls within a given boundary defined by the stream. I added the point shapefile and specified the Type as "Point Elevation" and the Field of interest. I then added the boundary polygon shapefile and specified the type as "Boundary". Output cell size was set to 30 m and the output extent was set to the same file as the boundary polygon shapefile. The primary type of input data was set to "Spot". Everything else was left as a default value. When I run this interpolation, ArcMap always crashes. No error message is given. Anyone have an idea of what is going on? Thanks
