On XLSForm spreadsheet, I have a "begin repeat" section for multiple entries of resemble questions. There is a geopoint component in the "begin repeat" section. This can be published from Survey 123 to ArcGIS Online My Survey. Everything was fine. However, if I added one more component within the "begin repeat" section, publish failed. The publish process was stuck at "Get form information". How can I get this working?

I am logged in with my ArcGIS Organization account. I have successfully created and published a survey. However, on Collaborate -> Submitter -> Share this survey, I don't have the option of Everyone. I only have "Link" and "Embed" options. Where can I share my survey with Everyone in Public?

Thanks! Yes, I have tried that method. This method works for me. But this involves too much manual process compared with the former ArcGIS Server method. However I am still confused why the former method stopped working a couple of weeks ago. Is it to do with my credits or license limitation? Does sharing imagery as Tiled Map Service on ArcGIS Server via ArcMap require the ArcGIS Server's Systems' CachingTools and PublishingTools internally?

I have a weekly GeoTiff image to be published to ArcGIS Online as a tiled map service. The image is shared as Service in a pre-defined a tile scheme through ArcMap -> Shared As -> Service. It was a small image file and the the whole publishing process was working until recently. The issue I am getting is that it seems the publishing was successful but the cache generation process on the ArcGIS Online side failed due to some reason unknown to me. This is what I received while ArcMap was publishing the image to a service on ArcGIS Online. I am wondering if anyone can offer any clue? Thanks!

I have a daily input of NetCDF file which contains hourly data over next 8 days. It has a "time" dimension with values e.g. "3/01/2018 5:00:00 PM", "3/01/2018 6:00:00 PM", "3/01/2018 7:00:00 PM", ... ..., "10/01/2018 12:00:00 PM". What I would like to do is to make it a time-enabled layer so that it can be viewed on a web map by public users, e,g, ArcGIS Online Web Map or ESRI JavaScript map viewer. Viewers will be able to view the change in values on the map over time by scrolling a time slider. This also needs to be automated so that it will run every morning when a new NetCDF file becomes available. As ArcGIS Online does not support hosting a time-enabled raster layer, I think it will have to be in hosted a feature layer. What is a best practise to achieve this?

Thanks Kelly. I have posted the same question to the Web AppBuilder forum for them to look into the issue. https://community.esri.com/message/739169-timeslider-behaviour-on-web-app-does-not-match-the-timesilder-on-the-underlying-web-map-on-arcgis-online

On ArcGIS Online, I have a hosted Web Map that contains 4 hosted feature layers. Each feature layer has the same number of features and a "Date" field and was published with Time enabled. All the features in a featuer layer has the same date and time for that field. They have the following attribute tables. The web map was published and configured to allow time slider to show the feature layers with time. Then I created a web app using Web AppBuilder out of the web map with a TimeSlider widget added. The TimeSlider on the web app has three time steps while that for the web map has four steps as above. Missing the last time step stopped the last feature layer from appearing on the web app. I thought the TimeSlider settings on a web app should match the settings on the underlying web map. Any idea?

Is there any working example or already documented anywhere to automate the process of creating a web map (with a Basemap) and adding a FeatureService item (already added to ArcGIS Online) to it, and then saving the web map to the My Content folder of ArcGIS Online? This will need to be achieved by Python 2.7 with ArcPy through the ArcGIS REST API so that it can be incorporated to my existing Python script. By the way I am with ArcGIS 10.1.

I have the following Python snippet to run to publish a MXD to ArcGIS Online My Content. I am with ArcGIS 10.1. The sddraft and sd files were both correctly generated.
import sys, os
import shutil
import arcpy, arcgisscripting
sddraft = 'DIR'
sd = 'DIR'
# delete the sd file if it already exists; otherwise pass
try:
os.remove(sd)
except OSError:
pass
# if required, sign in to My Hosted Services
print "SignInToPortal_server"
print arcpy.SignInToPortal_server("MYNAME", "PASSWORD", "http://www.arcgis.com/")
# create service definition
print "StageService_server"
print arcpy.StageService_server(sddraft, sd)
# publish to My Hosted Services, replacement already allowed as it has been defined in the sddraft file!
print "UploadServiceDefinition_server"
arcpy.UploadServiceDefinition_server(sd, "My Hosted Services", service,
"", "FROM_SERVICE_DEFINITION", "EXISTING",
"STARTED", "OVERRIDE_DEFINITION", "SHARE_ONLINE",
"PUBLIC", "SHARE_ORGANIZATION", "")
# Sign out from ArcGIS Online
arcpy.SignOutFromPortal_server()
When I ran the script with ArcMap opened, it worked well. However, if I closed ArcMap and ran it, it threw the following error:

I would need to automate publishing my mxd to ArcGIS Online as a publicly-accessible feature service. So it will be shared by everyone. I am with ArcGIS 10.1 so I cannot use the MXDToWebMap_server tool as it is only available to ArcGIS 10.3 and above. I am able to get most of the automation done by following the help document: ArcGIS Help 10.1 to run the following tools in the correct order arcpy.mapping.CreateMapSDDraft Update sddraft file to allow replacement (overwriting the published feature service if already existing) arcpy.StageService_server arcpy.SignInToPortal_server arcpy.UploadServiceDefinition_server The problem I came across is, the feature service is replaced and the Share properties are changed to prvivate even if I manually set up Shared with Everyone. The help document does not specify whether and how we can set up the Share properties in the sd file before uploading. I did find there are a whole bunch of parameters for the arcpy.UploadServiceDefinition_server tool: UploadServiceDefinition_server (in_sd_file, in_server, {in_service_name}, {in_cluster}, {in_folder_type}, {in_folder}, {in_startupType}, {in_override}, {in_my_contents}, {in_public}, {in_organization}, {in_groups}) I am assuming the {in_public} param is the one I need to use. But I would prefer a working example of use of those parameters in the context of publishing to ArcGIS Online (i.e. 'My Hosted Services').

Thanks Kelly. Yes, both of the computers I used to enter the values and view the values are in an Australian Time Zone (UTC+10:00+1). Because, as I said, I have already set up the correct time zone (UTC+10:00+1) on ArcMap, ArcGIS Online should've picked up the correct time zone and displayed the datetime correctly. Even if ArcGIS Online showed it in UTC, it would have shown it as "11/22/2017, 1:00 PM". Anyway, the "11/22/2017, 3:00 PM" is totally unexplainable.

I have a feature layer in ArcGIS Desktop running 10.1. It has a Date column with it. In ArcMap, this layer also has Time enabled with Time Zone set to "UTC+10:00 Canberra, Melbourne , Sydney" and "Values are adjusted for daylight savings" checked. The values in the DATETIME column are "dd/MM/yyyy 12:00:00 AM" in the designated time zone so it only shows the date part. It seems all good so far. When I published the MXD file to ArcGIS Online, however, all the values in the DATETIME columns were changed to strange values. I know ArcGIS Online would automatically convert the date values to suit the Time Zone of where you view the data. As I have set the correct Time Zone in ArcMap, ArcGIS Online should have shown the correct date values. Even if ArcGIS Online didn't do the conversion and recognised the values as in UTC, the date values should have been shown as the UTC time or the date time + 11 hrs. For instance, "23/11/2017" in ArcMap would be "23/11/2017" or "23/11/2017, 11:00 AM" in Australian Eastern Standard Time with Daylight Savings. The "11/22/2017, 3:00 PM" is totally unexplainable.

I have a custom model (called TOOLNAME) in a custom toolbox developed in Model Builder on ArcGIS 10.1 Desktop. The model takes two input parameters ( SingleFDI_D and dayindex ) and outputs a Derived parameter called " MaxFDI_DateTime " which is data of String type. The model runs well within the Model Builder on ArcGIS Desktop. I will need to execute the model in a standalone Python script as well. My question is how to get the output of MaxFDI_DateTime out of the tool execution in Python. arcpy.ImportToolbox(TOOL_DIR)
# The custom model should return a result in String, how to retrieve it here?
model_result = arcpy.{TOOLNAME}_{TOOLBOX_ALIAS}(SingleFDI_D, str(day))
