Is there any way to set the extents of a layer by manipulating the code in the project's .amp file? We have had an issue getting the basemap layer (cached tiles) to disappear when zoomed in to say 50 feet and closer, but could never figure out how to do it. We came up with a work around by adding a layer with just a white square on top of the basemap layer (but underneath all other layers) and making that show up when zoomed in. I didn't know if there wasn't some clever line of text setting the viewable extents in the .amp file; which would make it 100 times easier on me. Anybody know? Thanks.

I figured it out. I don't know why they aren't showing from the start anymore, but I edited the .amp file <TileCacheMapLayer name="MobileBasemap" cacheDirectory="C:/MobileBasemap/Layers" visible="True" /> Before it read cacheDirectory="Layers"

For some reason the basemap cached files (tiles) won't show up in ArcMobile for one of my projects. It worked perfectly the last time I was on the computer (it's a client's machine - I also copied the project to 3 different computers and confirmed on all that the basemap and operational layer worked perfectly) but this morning the basemap layer will not show up. I double checked the path and it is pointing to the right folder. I also went in and confirmed that the tiles are still in their respective folders all under the all layers folder. I can't seem to figure out why the basemap layer won't show anymore. Can anybody shed some light on this situation?

I haven't found any other symbols either but you adjust the symbology in ArcMap and it should come up in Explorer. EX: I have a map with fire hydrants, circles, squares, and valves as symbols and they show up fine in Explorer, but I gave them their symbology in ArcMap 10. Good Luck.
