Hi Chris, Thanks for the response.. But we need to keep track of the flow symbol in accordance with the source and sink position, not the drawing direction. Just like in arcmap, if we reset the flow direction, it will show a black circle, not an arrow. Then, if we execute the set flow function, the arrow will appear, facing down from source to the sink. Is there any ways to achieve this directly from the JS API or from python maybe? At least, can't we get the information on a polyline, what's the flow status on that particular object? Thanks..

Hi All, Short question here.. Is there any ways to display the geometric network flow direction on a dynamic map using ArcGIS JS API? It's similar with Utility Network Analyst >> Flow >> Display Arrows menu on ArcMap. Thanks..

I think i will take the remove original and add two new polylines approach, since i don't need to maintain IDs. But I need to make sure that the two new polylines will be still snapped to the poles. Thanks for the direction!

I think I've found the cause.. The applyEdits operation after performing cut operation is by default, updating (shrinking) the original polyline geometry and adding the remainder polyline as new object. Not deleting the original polyline and then adding 2 new polylines. So, of course any objects snapped to the original polyline which is now updated, will be dragged to the splitting point. I think I should handle the applyEdit event manually after cut operation is performed. Any suggestions?

Hi All, Currently i'm using the latest version of Arcgis JS API Editor | API Reference | ArcGIS API for JavaScript for our geometric network editing. Everything is going fine until we need to do some splitting on a wire (polyline). The cut tool is working fine for splitting polylines as we needed, but the problem is with the points that are already being snapped to the target polyline to be splitted. Some points below will make the problem clearer to be understood : 1.) This picture shows the original condition of the connection. Two poles connected (snapped) with a wire. 2.) The next step is, We use the cutting tool provided inside esri/dijit/editing/Editor widget to cut the wire, anywhere in the middle. This will split the wire into two objects. 3.) Aand.. here's the problematic result, The left pole suddenly dragged to the splitting point : After some checking, it seems like the left pole which previously snapped with the old wire still refer to the old wire's OBJECTID or something for the snapping, so this problem appears. From the second picture above, the right segment of the wire holds the same OBJECTID as the uncut wire (first picture), the left segment is the newly created object after cutting with new OBJECTID. So, Our objective is to split the wire into two parts without affecting other objects that are snapped with the targeted wire to be cut. Actually we need something that behaves like the ArcMap splitting tool, but inside the Arcgis JS API.. Is there any workaround regarding this problem? Thanks alot...

Hi All... We have a problem with Versioned Editing using ArcGis Javascript API. Here are the conditions: - Everything is fine if We use the SDE.DEFAULT version for editing, though sometimes We get Underlying DBMS errors during the feature layer editing and the object won't be drawn, but after retrying to draw and the DBMS error is not appearing, the object can be drawn fine. This includes drawing with snapping from Polylines to Points. - When we use versions other than the SDE.DEFAULT, the "Field Is Not Editable" Error began to appear, sometimes with "Error: Invalid or missing input parameters". The error ALWAYS appear after drawing some Polylines that we snap to other Points. This "Field is not editable" Error makes the Polyline and Point that we previously drawn and snapped to became "locked". We cannot snap any new Polyline to that Point object. We also cannot delete the 'problematic' object. (The "Field is not editable" error keep on appearing if we do anything to the object) Beside that, after this error appears, we can't POST the version to the SDE.DEFAULT version. The reconcile toolbox log says: "Warning: Error reconciling version SDE.CHILD.[Another application is currently editing the version. [SDE.CHILD] The version of your database server is not supported.]". ( This one is similar to this case: http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/72167/error-during-reconcile-the-version-could-not-be-reconciled-invalid-network-el this thread suggests us to install a patch for Geometric Network Reconcile http://support.esri.com/en/downloads/patches-servicepacks/view/productid/160/metaid/1985 . We have applied the patch, but still no luck.) - So for short, The "Field Is Not Editable" Error Always appear after we do some drawing with Snapping from Polylines to Points and The Feature Layer has to be other than the SDE.DEFAULT Version. What could be the problem here? Is it the versioned editing or the snapping manager bug? or something else? Thaaanks a lot..

Hi All.. Any clue about this issue? I found this on the ArcGIS 10.1 Help : Note: Network analysis services cannot be used for performing utility network analysis on a geometric network. Instead, you'll need to use ArcGIS for Desktop. For more information, see What are geometric networks? Does it mean that Utility Network Analysis can only be done in ArcGIS for Desktop? Thank you... Happy New Year! 😄
