This looks like it could be it. I will spend little while messing around with the code and will mark this correct if I do not need any further clarification.

Are you able to use the before-apply-edits event to make your changes and then applyEdits within that event?

Hey everyone. I currently have a custom widget with edit capabilities and right now I have a cancel and apply button that work perfectly fine if you click them. But if you click away from the map it will override my buttons and save anyway. But i noticed that the editor widget already available in webapp builder has the capability built in to prevent the autosave feature and instead the user must hit save to save the edits. if the user clicks away from the map a popup is displayed informing the user that they did not hit save. I was unable to find this feature in the API documentation is this something that is only available in the ootb edit widget? Adding this feature to my application could help prevent user errors. Does anyone know of any reference to this property in the API or another way I could get this functionality in my application.

I ended up getting a cancel and apply button working by deep cloning the selected features (ie copying the original values) from before the edits, then if the user makes a change and it autosaves I have a clone of the original features still available should they choose to cancel. If they hit the cancel button I then use applyEdits again but this time pass the original features from the deep clone. Which essentially reverts the layer back to before the edit.

Hi Robert, I understand that this is an old thread, but I was wondering if you ever found a solution that does not require editing the applyEdits method.

Was able to use the selection complete and the getSelectedFeatures method from layers to loop through the attributes and edit the values and then use the applyEdits method from layers to get it working from the same toolbar. Thanks!

Hi Robert, Do you know if there is anything the select tool fires off? If I can find the rows the the select tool has selected I could just make the attribute inspector go through all the rows the select tool has selected no?

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a way for me to have the batch attribute editor inside the edit toolbar. Or if I am able to replicate that functionality within the toolbar. Right now the Edit toolbar allows me to select a series of features and delete them but not edit a single attribute for all of them. I am using this tool bar Editor | API Reference | ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.23. and am hoping for the toolbar to stay similar to this:

I think what is happening that the renderer is not attaching the symbols to the values (hopefully I worded that correctly) here is an example of the legend after setting the renderer. those are the correct values for the field i have chosen but they are given a null symbol. I don't see why it would do that for my feature layer but not for your feature layer.

Im sorry Robert, it isn't publiv and I am unable to make it public. only thing I can think of that could be different is the fact that it has been optimized for layer drawing in the layer settings. But I do not believe that could cause an issue. The layer does have a lot of polygons as well. I do not know if the screenshot below will help.

I was not able to apply all the cosmetic changes to the code due to a few blocks of code that i did not paste here breaking on me after making the changes. But i did add the bottom portion of your code (without the errorhandler) and now I do not get any errors in the chrome console but the layers do not render based off of the selected field. edit1: I got the error handler working and the error is Something broke, error: Error

I think I might know what my problem is, I am using setRenderer for a definition and not an actual renderer. I have to change my code so that it uses an actual renderer. Do you have any idea if there is a way for me to just use myUniqueValueDefinition?
