Hi there everyone,
Lately we've experienced an increase in support incidents regarding Error 1935 during the installation of ArcGIS for Desktop, and also in reporting of some unexplained crashes of ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
while there are multiple causes for these phenomenons, in many cases, the main culprit was Dot NET 3.5.1 which wasn't completely/correctly installed.
The solution in those cases was fast and simple and it's advised to check in any computer that runs any ArcGIS for Desktop App (including Pro).
There's an informative discussion regarding Error 1935 in which the solution is suggested by V Stuart Foote and Bubba Hey.
Anyway, I've written the fix workflow:
- Make sure that your computer meets the system requirements thoroughly (See the help pages of your software).
- Open Add Remove Programs and then click on Turn Windows features on or off
- In the window that opens (might take a while) check if the .NET 3.5.1 installation isn't complete (shows as a blue checkboks). If so, check all it's components and Click OK (might take a while as well)
- check if now you can install the software or run it without the crashes.
