Assuming you are using Pro 2.4, it should already have Python API 1.6.2 installed. (1) You don't have to upgrade it; (2) just do `conda install -c fastai -c pytorch fastai=1.0.39 pytorch=1.0.0 torchvision`. Another approach is just to create a clean conda environment outside of Pro rather than cloning Pro env and install Python API and its dependency there.

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue, but you can use jupyter notebook as well if jupyter lab doesn't work. Bottom line is that you can create a conda environment outside of Pro as the deep learning module of Python API can be independent of Pro.

I suggest that you 1) clone a new Pro env; 2) confirm python api is 1.6.2 (the package name is `arcgis`); 3) do `conda install -c fastai -c pytorch fastai=1.0.39 pytorch=1.0.0 torchvision` Or if your API is 1.7.0, do `conda install -c fastai -c pytorch fastai=1.0.54 pytorch=1.1.0 torchvision` instead. Based on the screenshot, your Python API version is jumping back and forth for some reason.

Looks like you are using Python API 1.6.2, which is fine for the palm tree detection case. In your case, you need an older version of fastai and pytorch. conda install -c fastai -c pytorch fastai=1.0.39 pytorch=1.0.0 torchvision More information can be found at Geospatial deep learning with | ArcGIS for Developers .

`conda list arcgis` will give you the Python API version. Also, make sure you restart the Python kernel or Jupyter notebook after the installation. If it still doesn't work, could you please post your Python API version and a screenshot of the error code along with the code causing it?

I am guessing you are using Python API 1.7.0. This new release requires fastai=1.0.54 and pytorch=1.1.0 and it is different from Python API 1.6 which is the version the learn lesson used. Could you please try creating a clean environment and running the following command to see if it solves the problem? conda install -c fastai -c pytorch fastai=1.0.54 pytorch=1.1.0 torchvision
