Hi Ross, and all others following this new functionality with the latest release we continue in beta for editing scene layers and are working on improving spatial reference support. This means we recommend using WGS84 when working on the globe (in global scenes) and only local scenes for editing in a projected coordinate system (including WebMercator). We currently do not plan to support Web Mercator for editing in global scenes but note that WGS84 scene layers work well together with WebMercator basemaps on the globe. Please send me a direct message to investigate your specific case together and ensure a good way forward for your project. Best, Veronika

Hi Joe, thanks for reaching out. Support for a ready to use workflow through ArcGIS Online is on our roadmap this year. However, we are happy to support you exploring this topic already while it is still in beta. Please send me a direct message to discuss your requirements and we can provide an appropriate workaround until the full workflow is possible. Best, Veronika

Hi Saadullah, could you share this in a bit more detail through a direct message? I'm not sure I understand what exactly you would like to do but generally, the process for supported 3D models that you have stored on disk is the same (independent of the source software). Thanks, Veronika

Hi Mohamed, this is not supported in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0. We are working on landing a complete workflow with an Enterprise version to release in 2024. Best, Veronika

Hi Bernard, it is also supported in local scenes for projected coordinate systems. Depending what you would like to do, a local scene is actually the best path during the beta phase as we are aware of some issues with geographical coordinate systems in our beta release. For larger or more complex models we would be happy if you could share those with us together with their use cases - we are currently evaluating the technical and user experience limits of what we can fully support in terms of size and complexity on the web when moving out of beta while not limiting our users arbitrarily based on file size only. I would love to hear more about your use case, especially around your requirement for switching planes. Please feel free to send me a direct message to continue this conversation or if you happen to go to the User Conference I'm sure @ArnoFiva will be happy to meet with you. Best, Veronika

Hi Klaus, probably the best is to meet directly with @ArnoFiva at our booth. Could you send him a direct message asking to setup a meeting with you? I'll also confirm the sessions where this will be shown during the next days - you can find all Scene Viewer sessions listed here in the blog post. Best, Veronika

Hi there, could you open an official support request or send me a direct message? We likely need to investigate your specific data and workflow to understand what is going on. As you mention Enterprise I guess you cannot share the service publicly. Thanks, Veronika

Hi Kristian, actually 🙂 not just a plan - we released it also as a beta for the Maps SDK for JavaScript. You can find more information in our SDK Release Notes and please feel free to reach out with your more specific questions, ideas and thoughts also through direct messages to our developer evangelist @ArnoFiva or me. Please keep in mind that this is a beta feature where documentation has room for improvement, we might still change public API and you may encounter some unexpected issues. Thanks and looking forward, Veronika

Hi Yigal, great to hear. And yes, these steps are only needed while we are in beta. We have it on the roadmap to support a ready to use workflow through ArcGIS Online - it will be more or less as you suggest. Best, Veronika

Dear Amanda, wow, great you are already looking into trying it out. It is a prerequisite for this new functionality to create a new scene layer with associated feature layer that has the GLB format enabled. This option enables the new capability for format conversion that was also added as beta to ArcGIS Online just yesterday. Here is a step by step recipe to get started: Prepare data using latest ArcGIS Pro 3.1: Create a 3D object feature class in a file geodatabase, see ArcGIS Pro documentation "Create a 3D object feature class" Add storage format GLB (Khronos Group glTF binary) that enables support for uploading models on the web, see ArcGIS Pro documentation "Modify a 3D object feature class" a. Open Analysis > Tools b. Search for and open Add 3D Formats to multipatch c. Add .glb and run the tool Create a zip file of the file geodatabase containing only your new 3D object feature class Publish data using your organization on ArcGIS Online: Upload the .zip file and publish as a feature layer, see ArcGIS Online documentation "Publish the contents of a file geodatabase" From the published feature layer publish the scene layer, see ArcGIS Online documentation "Publish hosted scene layers" Enable editing on the feature layer as appropriate for your workflows, see ArcGIS Online documentation "Manage hosted feature layer editing" If there are any further questions or suggestions do feel free to reach out to our Product Manager @JasmineDu at @jdu@esri.com. We are eager to hear about your use cases and feedback during this beta phase. Best, Veronika

Hi Bernd, thanks for reaching out on this topic. Not yet but we are actively looking into it. It is indeed an interesting opportunity to move forward - supporting our customers to benefit from globally available mesh content through our platform. To further discuss your interest and requirements please reach out to Andreas Lippold, our product manager on this topic. Best, Veronika

Hi Christophe, this is the only way to preview models at the moment. Do you see any degradation with 4.26? This would be unexpected as the new version should be equivalent to 4.24 (with improved memory management and messaging). Uploading models to scene layers is currently work in progress on our roadmap. This could be an option in future. Best, Veronika

Hi Christophe, yes, we are now including glTFs when montoring memory consumption. If you are curious about memory usage you may find it interesting to take a look at this experimental (!) class SceneViewPerformanceInfo. As you already mention your glTF is large and therefore, a stretch when it comes to loading it in a browser, just like this. We would recommend to use a scene layer with level of detail. Would this be an option in your case? If not, could you explain the use case you are trying to solve? We would like to make sure that we have it covered in our backlog and add your input for prioritization. Best, Veronika

Sorry I missed to reply for so long - yes, this is the default if your polygons do not have z coordinates. We have logged your case for prioritizing this feature.
