We did this so partners could view the app but not see anything else we have. It required using one of our ArcGIS licenses as a named user (level 1) and assigning that user view-only rights to the particular content sub containing the app - and no rights to any other content. Users could then click the link to the app (shared via email) and log in to view it.

Second the above suggestions. To troubleshoot further (if the calculation starts, but fails), strip any extra characters from the text string source field. A single extra space or letter can bail the calculation when it reaches that record.

If the problem is not solved by the methods in the first two replies, you can edit fonts. The symbol you wish to change can include elements from multiple fonts. Be aware that all fonts would be needed on any pc viewing your files for this to work. Font Creator is a simple font editing software that I've found is very useful in the ESRI environment. I've made many custom symbols this way. You can add symbols to existing fonts as well, should you wish.

If you are using the maps to convey info to others, simpler is usually better. How about 3 maps - 2000 data, 2010 data, and a third map showing change? If you are limited to one, combine color and hatching. For example, show only 2010 data, graduated by color; change could be shown by hatching. So there could be 15 symbols, 3 hatch patterns in 5 possible colors each. Color is easy to grade, getting multiple textures to be both intuitive and easy to distinguish can be tricky.

I supported such a project some years ago and recall doing exactly that. Because the drainage follows your stormwater network, the DEM should be forced to comply with the network.

Does your output have a different extent with one method? It's been years since I used SA, but recall that the output fills the rest of the extent with NoData when one uses Extract by Mask...

It depends on how wide the river is and the purpose of showing it as a polygon. Some maps might be well served with generalized lines, others need the detail of a polygon.

It sounds like your polygons have the same outer bound, but are the inner boundaries identical? (For example, counties) Or are they varied by data type? If they are all identical, use a spatial join and combine attributes. If not, you would need to union the lot and then use spatial join. All that bother can be avoided by converting to raster... Instead of using the weighted overlay tool, use a numeric field to hold your weights; then use the raster calculator to get the weighted output.

In v10, you seem to be stuck either printing at 200% or 300% or creating separate mxds for each.

I don't have an answer for you, but can offer an anecdote. We convert our final point and polygon features to kml, all of which contain text strings up to 250 characters. So far there has been no problem. Apparently the problem lies in the html path somewhere...

Do you mean each color patch has text in it? You could create a text box with the same font and spacing as the legend and overlay the text graphically. Another way would be to make a second version of your geologic features. Set each symbol to contain color and text. Leave the layer off in the TOC, but add it in place of the mapped layer to the legend.

It looks suspiciously like your second output is only being processed to the extent of the internal buffer layer. Make sure that your environment settings for the tool define the processing extent to be the larger county layer.

Do you have spatial analyst? That would allow you to add together your extents (overlap), calculate various statistics about each cell, and maybe other useful tools.
