I just installed ArcGIS for AutoCAD, two server connections were automatically created. One is for ArcGIS Online and one is to our local server containing our services (not sure how the install identified this server). The ArcGIS Online connection works fine for adding a service but the local connection fails with the message “Populating connection failed”. The server connection is seeing the server, I can tell because when I select it there is a dialog “Reading Service Details” and I can see it read our local service folders but then it fails. The local connection is http://uswiw040:6080/arcgis/services. I do not know what credentials are being used since the connection was created by the install and I can’t figure out how to view the connection properties. Note, there is also a red “X” on the connection icon in the “Add Services” dialog. I tried creating a new server connection http://uswiw040/arcgis/services without providing credentials and providing admin credentials, both failed with “Error connecting to server”. I am on AutoCAD 2015 64 bit. Any help on configuring a local connection properly will be greatly appreciated.

Does this bug fix also address the issue that the summary widget does not respect filters applied to a layer in the web map and also does not respect whether or not the layer being summarized is set visible in the layer selection (summarizes with layer on or off)?

That was it, thanks. I have worked in numerous programming interfaces, this is the first one I have come across that is case sensitive for Auto-complete. Guess this could be because Python is a case sensitive language.

I am trying to get PyScripter configured to work with ArcGis 10.3. I have added arcpy to Tools > Options > IDE options as noted above. Python version 2.6.0.0 x86 The PyScripter Pyton Path is I still cannot get the auto complete to work correctly. If I type arcpy.mapping.l the only options shown are "logging" and "logcall". However if I type arcpy.mapping. a full list of options is displayed and I can scroll down to items such as "listdataframes". Anyone else experience this or have a solution?

Every post I see relating to "Generating a choice list from a field" refers to an old blog post, Generating a choice list from a field | ArcGIS Blog , which is exactly what I want to do. Problem is step 1 under "Generating a choice list for a parameter from an input feature class/table automatically" Download an example script tool from here (http://resources.arcgis.com/gallery/file/geoprocessing/details?entryID=17B035DA-1422-2418-885C-50F3CBC3CAB0 ) is a broken link. Can anyone direct me to a correct URL for this script tool or provide a copy of it?

Right-click on the datasets in model-builder and select Rename. The name displayed on any parameter item in Model Builder is the heading displayed when the tool is run. Added note: if you right-click in any white space in model builder and select Model Properties, on the parameter tab you can reorder how they are displayed.

GDB is too large to send, however you already have the data. The class I was working with is the ESRI 2014 demographic data for block group centroids. I inserted the class into a new project, opened the field list, unchecked visibility on everything except the ID field. I realize I can save my edits for this specific class. What I was referring to by not being able to save the field settings was as in creating a .fvl file. Also paging through hundreds or thousands of variables is very tedious in the table view. What is needed in Pro is the equivalent of the field visibilities (BA). With this tool it is quick to filter for desired fields, add or remove from visibility group, and if desired save these settings to apply to another class or the same class in another mxd (project). It is distressing to see such good functionality being degraded to the table view method of field control. Tom Goeke Staff Technical Analyst Corp. I agree, Pro is incredibly slow on routine functions. Good example, I have a class with ~2,000 fields, in 10.3 I can set layer visibility in in 15 seconds. In Pro it takes nearly 15 minutes, 5 minutes to load all the fields into the grid and 10 minutes to cycle through each field after clicking save. Secondly, there is no way to save the visibility setting so this painful process needs to be repeated over and over. To be fair, some of the more intensive tasks, such as spatial join, are faster in Pro.

I created a model that will iterate through a layer of polygons and complete these steps select the polygons one at a time select all points from a point class which fall within the polygon Append the selected points to an existing class (same schema) The appended class then has a name field added and the user selected “name” field from the selected polygon is field calculated to each point This model works fine and produces the expected result. I then wanted to be able to have the model create an empty point class with the same schema as the input point class so I would not need to do this manually prior to using my existing model. Since the existing model has an iterator and I only need to create the table once I need a main model which creates the table and then calls the sub-model to iterate through the polygons. My new main model works as expected to create the class when I run it without the sub-model. When I try to link the output class of the main model to the sub-model I receive the following error; I have tried numerous things but I cannot determine what “field name” is causing the issue. The only field name I use is in the sub-model which works fine when run stand-alone. I have attached the models as a toolbox. Any class of polygons with a name field and any class of points should work for testing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for this code. I was looking for an auto-increment tool that would work on a varying base id field. This worked perfect.
