Dan, I have it going from globalid field to a globalid field. I created the global ID field in the related table through the menu under manage - add global id's. And we are using data from arcgis server version 10.4.

Hello, I am having trouble with our collector App. It was working, and now it isn't. Everything works fine, until we try to add something to a related table, and then on both android and windows devices it either freezes the app or shuts it down completely. It works perfectly fine on ios hardware. I have found a few resources, but none of them are helping us. Things i have done: - enabled pop-ups -made the relationship based on GlobalID's -Changed settings in the service editor. I found this article, and did everything associated with it. https://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2015/02/18/related-tables-exploring-new-ways-to-use-collector-for-arcgis/ We also tried some of the suggestions from this post, but the workaround with security is just not feasible for us. https://community.esri.com/thread/121100 Thank you.

Hello, I am trying to create a field that auto-populates upon creation of a feature that is not objectid or globalID. We take data in and out of SDE on a regular basis, so neither of those fields work. I would also like to use this field for a relationship class. We tried adding a self-populating field through SQL Server, but that does not seem to be working, and it seems to be an invalid field type in ArcGIS. We are using this in the collector app. Second question...globalID might work, if you take a layer out of SDE, and put it back in, does it recognize the already existing globalID field, and keep them the same? Thank you!

P.S. I figured it out. If you add a layer from the mapserver, instead of the feature server, you cannot edit it.

Ken, I already did that, but you can still add or delete features, and I want to make sure they don't mistakenly change geometry, move something, or delete it by accident. But thank you.

Hi! We have created a collector app, and I just want to display some data, but not allow it to be able to be edited in collector. I looked around in the app itself, but also in the webmap it is being hosted from, and cannot figure out how to just display a layer, but not allow for editing. Right now i turned off all of the fields so they can't change any of the data, but they can still add or delete things, which i don't want them to be able to do. Thank you. T

Hello, I access one of our client's information via citrix, which then launches an instance of ArcMap. I am trying to do a wildcard (%) selection on a field that has a domain, but I do not have access to the original coded values, so the wildcard selection is not working. The statement verifies, but nothing is returned. Does anyone know a way around this? Thank you, Tracy

I am not a database person, but i am familiar enough with some of the small in's and out's of SDE. Currently I have a co-worker who told me that he loaded his work into an SDE DB that since its creation I have kept registered and archived, with it having to be re-versioned and re-archived under the usual circumstances. But when i bring up the historical version of the FC, the data only goes back to 5/27/16, and I have been maintaining this data since the creation of the DB, which i am not sure when it was, but it is over 6 months. I have a co-worker who occasionally applies FME translations to the Datasets, which causes them to unversion, but then i re-version them, and I was wondering if maybe that might be the issue? Or what exactly does compressing the database do? Would that effect the historical versions of the data? I am just not sure what happened to all of the historical data for this database, and am just looking for a few reasons maybe why this happened. Thank you, Tracy

Thank you Andrew, the internet suggested that as one of the solutions, but I did not try that approach, but glad it works. But another solution as well is just down saving to an .xls. That is a work around as well if people are not able to download things on their work computers without IT permission.

Arcmap 10.3 will not import .xlsx (Excel Spreadsheets anymore). Where i work i have a remote machine that i log into, and the arcmap sessions on this machine will no longer accept excel files, but the Arcmap session on my local machine, has no problem with it. Beyond uninstalling, and reinstalling Arcmap are there any other solutions that do not have the 5 step process of converting it to .csv, then converting it back and such?

I am looking to export a feature class to a KML. This FC has an active join on it from a table that I have uploaded into my MXD. For particular reasons, it is not pertinent to make this join permanent. I tried both exporting map to KML and Layer to KML and when export this FC does not come through with the joined data. In fact all of the fields that I turned off (which is about 30) are all showing up instead. Is it not possible to get this joined data to show up in an exported KML at all, or is there a different process without making the join permanent that will work for this? Thank you Tracy
