I might propose that instead of two different group types you change the paradigm and have multiple different sharing types. Because of the way it's currently structured it's not uncommon to have many groups generated for a business area... and I worry at times about butting up against ArcGIS Enterprise's group capacity cap. Basically, I'm thinking if we could decouple groups and permissions, than we could organize groups based on business functions or organizational charts... and permissions based on content delivery needs. Some of those permission needs might be View, Edit, and "Co-Ownership" (which is what we teach our power users "Access and Update" really implies).

Agree with JeffreySchmidt3, if we follow through with this idea an effort should be made to ensure it permeates through the other product teams so that those interfaces reflect the same custom filters dictated by the ArcGIS Enterprise governance policies.

I would like to see an interface for admins under the organization tab of ArcGIS Enterprise to pick which categories from metadata can show in the filters for portal searches (reference Filters attachment). Currently, they are locked to: Categories Item Type Location Date Modified Date Created Tags Sharing Status Distributed Collaborations But, it would be better if I could opt to remove some of these filters I know my users aren't interested in and introduce other things from the standard metadata such as: Resource Constraints - Security Classification Resource Constraints - Access Constraints Resource Constraints - Use Constraints Themes Keywords Place Keywords Temporal Keywords Discipline keywords Stratum keywords Dataset identifiers Dataset names Point of Contact Update Frequency Attribute labels (features with X attribute show) Language etc. The above list is not comprehensive, but does serve to illustrate a point that customizing how filters are presented to an ArcGIS Enterprise user base could cover a wide array of unique functions we Enterprise users would take advantage of.

When publishing or registering services to ESRI from ArcGIS Pro or from inside ArcGIS Enterprise I would like to see options for admins to incorporate required metadata from the metadata standard selected. I would also like that these options be controllable for different item types (apps, maps, features, etc.). I would envision the metadata interface coming right after mandatory metadata (reference Current Mandatory Metadata attachment). By default, the required are title and tags to publish/register content. I presume this is just inherited as a line of thinking from ArcGIS Online. However, with on premise systems we need to be able to tailor individual documentation requirements to our business we deployed ArcGIS Enterprise to support. For example, if an organization needed to ensure all data was properly classified for security, they need to be able to require the security data be filled in to publish. This should be something an admin can turn on and mandate users is populated (reference Security Classification Metadata attachment). The same may hold true for other metadata such as points of contact, citations, access constraints, additional keywords, language, etc. In doing so it would be much easier to keep a cleaner house, allow for audits, and apply cleaner governance to our systems that match our business needs.

Makes sense, just hard to train 1500 users to do that vs checking a box.

Agreed, if so, it would be beneficial to have it as a multiple select vs a toggle. Same goes for data themes on that note (multiple selections).

I would like to see ArcGIS Ideas itself ported over as a solution template for organizations. We are a relatively large and successful GIS shop that handles dozens of requests a week for solutions. The ArcGIS Ideas framework seems like it would be ideal to funnel in that consumer feedback and help our team organize those ideas and assign them out as projects to GIS professionals to build or existing project leads to make alterations. For example, maybe a customer uses our configurable apps and proposes that they want a field to edit, a symbology change, or anything tweaked. If we could route it through a system like this we could prioritize that work and be more transparent. Ideally, I'd see this as either a solution template for sites or experience builder... but could also see how it may be complex enough that it could be something to be looked at as a stand alone app that would be in an ArcGIS Portal app launcher (like sites, survey123, etc.).

There is a small toggle on the bottom of the geo-processing tool to "Enable Undo". That's what I'm referring to as an edit session. The only way I can get it to occur regularly is to join a table and calculate data from the input to the target (parcels). Also, may be something related to calculating on a global ID field. Either way, I just check the box no matter what and if I do I don't have any issues at all.

I am working through loading the new Pro Parcel Fabric and am struggling to figure out how to best load in Undivided Interests. These are characterized as a single record with multiple parcels (with unique ID's) sharing the same geometry. Would they just be stacked? It may help if there were a model agency fabric that had more skin to it (pre-built parcel types, demonstrations of record types, etc.)

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a way to assign record from selection in model builder or python? In the record manager it's a button, but I don't see anything that mirrors it in the parcel toolbox. For context, we have a business system for records that records document relations to parcels. Want to automate a nightly process of pulling documents down and associating them with the correct parcel and rebuilding... this button seemed like the best lead, but is a dead end as far as I can tell.

I was stumped by an error when calculating over global ID's from my records to a parcel layer (a lot easier than manually doing it for a half a million parcels). It seemed that there was a bug because it would get to 5%, freeze up and error out. The error message was extremely general. Just a 999999 error. After a week of trying to work around it I realized it was actually because you can't edit a feature from the fabric out of an edit session. It would save a lot of ArcGIS Pro fabric users heart ache if that edit session error were more clearly stated or there was a way to detect that before trying to run the process. Thanks

We often have many assignments related to the each other that a worker has to do as a pack. For example, inventory, pickup, and delivery are all unique assignments that are tethered together... but, have different locations, attributes, etc. In these cases it would be extremely helpful to create “trips” that could be assigned as a whole or spread across a team. These trips should be searchable themselves and work in a onetime many fashion in other areas of AGO. It would be great if assignments could be added and removed from trips like the add selected features to relationship tool in desktop as well. Sequencing of assignments in trips would be helpful too. A major usecase would be tied to network analysis and putting assignments in order from a route... or, putting dependencies on completing one assignment before the next can start.

We had the same issue and our AGO Admin traced it back to the "Local Projections" option for the specific open data site. Seems there is a bug wherein having this option "enabled" causes hosted features to fail while exporting KML. The error shows that the coordinates get converted to local, but still populate LAT/LON fields in the KML. For us in Michigan using Michigan GeoRef, that means the integer values are "out of range". We have "disabled" this option to get our user base back up and running and pushed a ticket to ESRI to hopefully get it fixed.
