Is anyone having any issues with the Evaluate Site wizard using BA 10.2.1? Here is what is happening to me: I choose Evaluate Site, then Find Point by Address. I input the address, it finds the location, everything is fine. Then I want to find a new address, so I repeat the steps but as soon as I finish putting in the 2nd address, it reverts to the 1st address instead. Nothing I do can get the 2nd address to stick. Instead, I have to close the program and start over. This is a pain because sometimes I have a list of multiple addresses I need to find and I really don't want to close the program after every address. Is this something that is fixed in the 10.2.2 upgrade?

Trying to map some addresses using the Customer Setup dialog and get this error: There is a known issue when using Address Coder with the Business Analyst 2013 dataset. The Business Analyst team is working on fixing this issue as quickly as possible. If you have access to the USA_ESRI_2012 dataset and switch BA to it then Address Coder will function as normal. Address Coder will now close. Any idea when this will be fixed?

It was when running a custom fusion report. If I had included a line in my report for consumer spending on lunch at a fast food restaurant (X1133_A), that line used to be blank when I ran the report because that variable wasn't part of the BA Basic license. But the rest of the report would still run. Now, it seems that the report won't even run if you have a report that includes a variable that you haven't licensed. It just gives you an error message. So I thought maybe something was wrong with my license. But really, it's no big deal. Now that I've found the full list of variables which are included with the BA Basic license, I have a better idea of what I can & can't include in my custom fusion reports. If I make sure to stick with variables that are included with the Basic license, the fusion report runs just fine. For anybody else who runs into this situation, the list of variables that are included with each license can be found in the document called 2013 BA Desktop Variable and Report List.xlsx which gets installed in the following folder: ArcGIS\Business Analyst\US_2013\Documentation

Nevermind - I got it to work. Using the documentation that comes with the new data, I determined which of the consumer spending variables comes with the Basic license. Turns out I was using a variable that is only licensed for Standard. In the previous version of BA, it was a little more lenient and would still let you run the report, it would just give you a blank line for any data you didn't have licensed. With the new version of BA, it seems it won't even let you run the report.

I was just wondering if the consumer spending data has been removed from BA Basic for 2013? I understand that market potential is only for BA Standard, but in 2012 I had access to consumer spending data with BA Basic. I just updated to BA 10.2 with the 2013 data, and now it seems I no longer have access to the consumer spending data. When I try to run one of our custom reports with consumer spending data, I get an error that says, "You have no license to utilize this report." All other demographic data seems to run fine.

Was there any progress on this issue? I'm now in the same situation as the original poster. Seems like there should be an easier way to update custom reports to new data.

Does anyone have tips or tricks for locating addresses in Business Analyst, specifically using the Find Point By Address wizard? The geocoder seems to be super picky about how addresses are input. Probably about half the time when I put in an address, BA says it can't find it. So I end up just going to Google Maps, finding the address, then coming back to BA and finding the location by clicking on the map instead. This seems like an extra step that I shouldn't really have to do. Most of the time, the addresses I need to find are given to me like this: I-294 & Mannheim Rd, Hillside, IL Clark & Foster, Chicago, IL As you can see, they are typically intersections and don't usually include the ZIP code. I've found that adding a directional or adding the ZIP code sometimes helps, but since that isn't information I'm usually given, I have to go to Google Maps to look up that information anyway. Just wondering if there are some settings or anything else I could be doing to help make this process easier. Thanks!

I just ran into this situation as well. In Preferences -> Misc, I checked the box next to "Automatically update map projection (recommended for earlier versions of Business Analyst)". After that, I could zoom into a map once, but after that if I tried to pan or zoom any more, it would just snap back to the previous view. I thought I was losing my mind. It wasn't until I saw this thread that I remembered I had changed the setting. After I unchecked the box, I am able to pan once again. BTW, this was using the default Business Analyst 2012.mxd.

Thanks, Jason. The summary report is called "Detailed Ethnicity Profile". I also get the same error with the summary report titled "Labor Force by Industry and Occupation Profile". They are both summary reports in the Fusion Report Designer.

Another question about creating a custom report in the fusion editor - I'm trying to drag & drop a section of detailed ethnicity data from the summary reports into my custom report and am getting the following error: The section(s) you are adding contain objects referencing missing fields. In Edit mode these fields will be attributed with red exclamation marks and objects will be highlighted in red. And sure enough, in Edit mode the whole section is highlighted in red. It's as if the data doesn't actually exist in the summary reports. So why is it shown as data that you can drag & drop if you really can't?

So I think I know the answer to this question, but just wanted to verify: I am creating a custom report in the fusion editor and I really, really need to include an educational attainment variable in my report because that particular piece of information is important to one of our clients. But it looks like educational attainment information is only part of the ACS data set, which is only available in BAO. Unfortunately, it seems as though there is no way to add data from ACS / BAO into a custom report in BA Desktop. Is that correct?
