We sincerely hope you enjoyed the webinar, Connecting People and Systems to Transform Field Operations, held on March 6, 2024. Please take time to watch and share the recording. This webinar explores how ArcGIS field apps unify field activities and enables staff to use real-time data for error reduction, productivity, and cost savings. See how to access purpose-built apps with a single user identity for connected or disconnected environments, deployed as SaaS or behind your firewall. For further information, please contact Brian Boulmay at bboulmay@esri.com Garrett Rimel at grimel@esri.com. Questions and Answers from Webinar In seeing dashboards like this, it is great but there are also field staff that need to see this as well. How easily adaptable is it to mobile and is it clean looking on the device? There have been some exciting developments in this space. In the past you may have maintained two separate dashboards optimized for different screens – now you have the option to create a mobile dashboard view (read more). There is a lot of bells and whistles, but curious what value Field Staff have found for this vs. office staff. During the webinar we tried to tell the office value story as well as the field value story as we believe they are interconnected. To be successful in production both user communities need to see value. Maintenance of data, these seem important as there are a lot of touch points. How well does auditing work and is Oracle, MS SQL, or Postgres being used in the back end to store this data? This entire demo was done using Hosted data in AGOL. But all of these work flows could definitely be deployed in any the listed enterprise deployment. The keys to success for that will be in the schema planning to ensure we can link up all the data sets being collected. Can the attached files be pre-loaded for off-line work? what about zones without connection? The documents if predownloaded could be taken offline in the field. How accessible the documents would be will depend on the method they are delivered. Example: the documents attached to the basemap features would be referenced to an outside data store. VS the attachments sent over via workforce would be elements embedded into the application and more offline enabled. We are currently utilizing Power Automate for our Survey123 back end automations and have found it quite cumbersome to build out and requires regular debugging. Can these same back end automations be accomplished with FME? If so what would be the pros/cons of utilizing FME vs. PA? Both Power Automate and FME Server could be leveraged for the automations we had in the demo. Which platform you should go with depends on your IT infrastructure, available licenses, and specific connectors available on each platform that would support your workflow. How much of the presented solutions can be accomplished with standard built in functions? ie. Widgets Everything we showed in the webinar was off the shelf configuration. There was no development or custom scripting beyond some very simple arcade for some color coding elements. Would a solution like this require a team or would the workload be unmanageable to execute in a realistic amount of time without a team? The concept in the demo could be deployed by a single person or via a larger team. Once implemented many of the functions are automated or live connections – in theory reducing the amount of manual work required which should free up team members for other tasks. However as always, more users will most likely mean additional support requirements. How are you tracking employees? Do they have a device on the employee badge for tracking? In the case of the demo, we were leveraging location sharing inside the Field Maps mobile app. While location sharing is on, their location is recorded whether they are using the app or it's running in the background, and tracks are collected if the device is online or offline. For the asset location dashboard when you brought up the P&ID's and drawings, are those connected to a database to be pre-populated or is that something the supervisor would upload? These are usually stored as linked URLs in the dataset from some type of document management system, however they can also be stored inside the datasets. Many of the mobile tools also allow you to attach files on the fly during the data collection process. Can those outside the organization (and no ESRI license) or those in a separate organization, submit forms or permits through Survey123? Third parties can certainly be given access to the surveys in several different ways. Partner collaboration would allow forms to be shared to another AGOL organization. You could assign them a named user in your organization with limited access to content. A non-licensed user would be more limited and for Survey123 they could only submit as an anonymous user if the Survey123 form was shared publicly. How did you get all the dashboards to act as a single application? This was only configuration, using Experience Builder as a wrapper, each of the apps were presented in what feels like a single app interface to the user. This is easy to do and very beneficial when you need to group several related applications for a full system workflow. Can you tell us more about how power automate integrates with Esri? Power automate offers a large number of out of the box connectors that will allow users to quickly establish connections to portal to read, write, and automatically watch field applications via web hooks. These tools are configurable out of the box, no code solutions and allow you to combine Esri functionality with the large number of extensions available in power automate. Did you say geotriggers work offline? Geotriggers can now be cached to your device much in the same way maps are cached to enable off-line use. As long as you have a view of the sky and working GPS signal – the geotriggers will fire based on location. How are you handling the real time data streams today? Velocity is the real time data ingestion and processing engine behind the scenes connecting to your live data streams, providing real time analytics and visualizations, and enabling many of the historical analytics you saw today as well. It is a crucial part of real time operations. But other products like Geoevent and many third party elements could also be leveraged. How easy is it to deploy the mobile tools? If you are running enterprise in the cloud, mobile tools are easier to deploy. You can leverage mobile VPN connectivity tools to work with Enterprise on prem, or you leverage ArcGIS Online to run your mobile workflows and leverage collaboration to keep the data in sync with your enterprise system. The applications themselves are available in apple and android app stores for deployment to devices. How does the licensing work for the mobile applications? Most of the mobile tools are included in the “Mobile Worker” user type and “GIS Professional” user type. This includes Field Maps, Survey123, Workforce and Quick Capture. These are identity based – so the same license can support many different mobile workflow solutions. Warm regards, The Esri Petroleum Team

We hope you enjoyed the webinar, "Sharing and Collaborating Better to Improve Pipeline Operations.” You may share the video link: https://mediaspace.esri.com/media/t/1_i0lw8w4o In this webinar we discussed the extensive sharing and collaboration capabilities of Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise and spoke with a panel of operators who have successfully implemented this technology to improve efficiencies and collaboration across their organization. For further information, please contact the following Esri staff: • Jeff Allen: jeff_allen@esri.com • Tom Coolidge: tcoolidge@esri.com • Sarah Ramirez: sramirez@esri.com Please view the webinar deck below. Select Questions and Answers from the webinar: Q: For a LNG Organization just adopting GIS, What do you think will be the starting point A: ArcGIS Online is a great way for organizations to get started with GIS as it is a low cost solution that Esri hosts, and allows users to start building out maps and applications quickly. Some of the other feedback that we heard during the webinar is to start out with a clean and accurate database, plan out a schema and attributes wisely. Finding a good partner is also helpful to facilitate the adoption of GIS and Web GIS. Lastly, it’s important to find a champion and/or key stakeholders to get the word out to the rest of the organization to start using the tools. •Q: Can you include a PDF link within the User Guide section? A: In ArcGIS Dashboards, it is possible to add hyperlinks to connect to other web pages, documents, or resources. One way to accomplish this is through the Rich Text dashboard element. To include advanced content like adding a URL you can enter text directly into the HTML source. Additionally, this Technical Article walks through how to customize the display text of hyperlinks. •Q: Hi team. I have a question on data governance in terms of taking a dataset to a public consultation app/StoryMap for local government. Customizing the tool so not all sensitive asset information is shown but a "public" view can be taken. A: Sharing content and items in portal will really vary by the type of item(s) that you are wanting to share. Here are some Best Practices for sharing that we recommend when it comes to this topic. Thank you for your time and attention. Be on the lookout for additional pipeline webinars. Warm Regards, The Pipeline Team

Please view the recording of the webinar, "Using Imagery to Improve Mine Operations Workflows," which occurred on October 26, 2022. We were able to hear from a panel from the Esri mining and imagery teams. We looked at how a wide array of imagery can be used to improve standard mine operation workflows. We learned how imagery can be used to detect what’s changed & “where” and also look at the analytical side of the imagery equation to determine “why” things have changed, or “why” such change may be important. Finally, we also looked at how to combine out-of-the-box tools to leverage the power of spatial analysis on demand and at scale to support modern digital operations. For additional questions, please contact: Peter Will: pwill@esri.com Ryan Farmer: rfarmer@esri.com Coty Welch: CWelch@esri.com Madeline Wrable: mwrable@esri.com Jonah Hall: jhall@esri.com See you again soon. We hope you enjoyed the pipeline webinar that was held on September 1, which presented updates on the recent technical advancements around pipeline data management in both ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing and the ArcGIS Utility Network. We have seen the adoption of these tools grow significantly in North America and will have some of those operators share their experiences and what lessons they learned throughout the process. Please see the video recording of the webinar. Select Questions and Answers from the live webinar Are customers using the data interoperability extension within ArcGIS to execute their data exchange between systems in use? Yes, there are a number of ways to load data into either ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing (APR) or the Utility Network (UNet). ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension is a supported tool for this process along with FME, Python, or Data Management Geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS Pro: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-solutions/data-management/getting-to-know-the-data-loading-tools/ Are the symbols used in this UN, the same across all UN's? Like a pump symbol looks the same as in the Water Distribution UN? Although they may not be exactly the same between industries, how we distribute the symbols are the same. Symbols are delivered in the various industry solution templates as style files are easily loaded into your Pro projects. For an easy way to review and download various industry styles, please follow this link: https://esri-styles.maps.arcgis.com/home/index.html How long did you spend cleaning your data before pushing it into UN, and did you use the DTL solutions or straight-up FME to make that transformation? For the examples that we showed during the webinar, we loaded the data from scratch using the Pro editing tools. However, there are various tools that can be used to load data into both ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing as well as the Utility Network. ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension is a supported tool for this process along with FME, Python, or Data Management Geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS Pro" https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-solutions/data-management/getting-to-know-the-data-loading-tools/ Are there links for the pipeline seminar registrations? I see the event listed on the pipelines page but no link to register? The links for the upcoming pipeline seminar have now been added to the pipeline events page. Sorry for the confusion. https://www.esri.com/en-us/industries/pipeline/events How hard, or easy, was it to transition from ArcMap to ArcPro? There are a number of great resources to help you make the transition from ArcMAP to ArcGIS Pro. The Esri training website has a Learning Plan that includes both free, and instructor lead courses that can assist you in that transition. https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/5b296eb4e620ca23e65420dc/migrate-to-arcgis-pro/ Is it possible to linear reference tools for automatic chainage calculation on web applications with mobile devices? It would be possible if you were to call the appropriate linear referencing rest endpoint from the APR server. However, most customers are capturing these field edits into a separate feature class that is passed back to the back office so that edits can be reviewed and approved before submitting to the production database. Field Maps does now support some linear referencing functions for the mobile workers. More information can be found here: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/field-maps/field-mobility/linear-referencing-comes-to-arcgis-field-maps/ For further information, please contact the following Esri staff: • Jeff Allen: jeff_allen@esri.com • Tom Coolidge: tcoolidge@esri.com Be on the lookout for additional pipeline webinars and other pipeline events. We hope you enjoyed the "ArcGIS Pro and Geospatial Workflows in Mining" webinar, that was on June 1, 2022. Please see the video recording of the webinar. For further information, please contact the following Esri staff: - Darin Bryce: dbryce@esri.com - Scott Noulis: snoulis@esri.com Select questions and answers coming soon Is there an export to MXD feature in ArcGIS Pro? You can certainly import but no other way around In ArcMap the online selection of data is much greater than what is available in ArcGIS Pro, why is that? Let's connect so we can go over how to expose all the online data options. ArcGIS Pro v3.0 is coming soon. In Beta testing, we have seen that all vendor add-ins (Datamine, Seequent, DataEast etc) will not be compatible with AGP 3.0 because of an updated requirement for .NET Framework updates. Is the MUG or Esri Mining Team reaching out to these vendors to motivate them to update sooner than later? Yes, we are in contact with our various partners about updating these add-ins. Can we have a free license for 1 month? DEEP, an evaluation of ArcGIS Pro is available through the Esri website, esri.com. Is Discover plugin incorporated into the software or does it require an extra license? The Discover plug-in is a separate license that can be purchased directly from Datamine. Esri is not a reseller of the plug-in. I see quite a lot of similarities with ArcMap, are there plans to reduce the products by possibly merging ArcMap functionalities into Pro? ArcGIS Pro is replacing ArcMAP. All key functions & tools have been migrated to Pro already. ArcMAP will eventually be decommissioned. How is the application performance when working with 3D data? Pro is highly performant when working with the 3D and we have a number of specifications that can be set to optimize performance. Additionally, there's a Performace Assessment tool you can run. https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-pro/announcements/announcing-the-arcgis-pro-performance-assessment-tool-pat/ Our users are becoming lazier with growing tech advances, are there any plans to reduce the number of clicks for some of the processes. I am thinking along machine learning capabilities that can mimic user patterns and behaviors. Pro can take advantage of ML tools & the toolbar can be customized to only show those tools the user most often accesses. There is also a "task" function where a workflow can be reduced to s a specific set of steps. Are there any plans to move away from desktop applications to a web-based application? Both the local client application ArcGIS Pro and the web version ArcGIS Online will be offered moving forward, not at the current time.Ar Can ArcGIS Pro work offline or must you be online first to use it? You can take ArCGIS Pro offline. Thank you for your time and attention. Be on the lookout for additional mining webinars. Sincerely, Esri Mining Team

We hope you enjoyed the webinar, "Streamlining Pipeline Workflows with Esri ArcGIS Workflow Manager,” which occurred on April 13, 2022. Please see the video recording. For further information, please contact the following Esri staff: • Jeff Allen: jeff_allen@esri.com • Tom Coolidge: tcoolidge@esri.com Questions and Answers from the webinar: What is customizable within Workflow Manager? Are we allowed to input custom in C#? What about custom-built toolboxes within the workflow? Also, I like the Calvin and Hobbes collection in the background! The web application itself is not easily customized but you do have the ability to utilize gp services, system toolboxes, custom toolboxes ( accessible by Pro), Arcade expressions can be used to configure paths and step parameters. There is a Python API and REST API available; the Javascript API will be out with the next release. How are the editors notified? Through workflow manager? Notifications are sent using email and the existing organization smtp. The smtp information is configured in the workflow instance. I just wanted to confirm, Jeff said that APR comes also comes with a seat of Workflow Manager. Did I hear correct? This means users would also get a Workflow Manager user type extension? That is correct. Is there a way to export a workflow manager configuration? For example when moving between different environments. Yes, you can use the Python API currently to export / import the configuration from one workflow instance to another. These can be in the same Portal or two different Portals (multiple environments) Is there any type of scheduling component to workflow manager? Yes, with the Advanced Workflow server license you can utilize step and job scheduling in Workflow Manager. Does Workflow Mgr require its own Ent DB? Its own Feat Dataset? DataStore? The new service-based Workflow Manager does not require an enterprise geodatabase and must use the Data Store. Everything is hosted in a relational Data Store and accessible as content items in Portal. You can access the Workflow Manager application through Portal as well. Is there an API for automating interaction with a Workflow via services? Yes, there is a Python API and a REST API available now. The Javascript API will be out with the next release. Is DataStore a requirement or an option? (for example may I use Sql Server instead of DataStore? It is required…the relational datastore is the only option for storing the workflow repository. Can predefined/precreated external polygons be pulled into WFM and associated with a job? Yes, you can add an existing feature service to the job template (under the extended properties section) and they can be used as reference but not edited. If you would like to use those existing features to set the Location of Interest for a job, you can do that as well by adding them to your referenced map and allowing the user to select the polygon or using the Python API. Thank you for your time and attention. Be on the lookout for additional pipeline webinars. Warm Regards, The Esri Pipeline Team

We hope you enjoyed the webinar, "From Mine to Market." For further information, please contact the following Esri staff: • Peter Will: pwill@esri.com • Matt Ballard: mballard@esri.com Question and Answers What applications are used to plan and execute the drone flights? Site Scan for ArcGIS includes a mobile flight planning application which can be used to plan and execute drone flights. You can find more information here: Site Scan Flight Planning v4.0 Release Can you include obstructions in routing analysis to calculate distances and travel times that do not cross or enter the obstructions? Such as in the “Respond to Bid” section of the webinar? Yes, you can include barriers as part of the vehicles routing step that can include avoiding specific locations, roads, or general areas. This can be done through a web application, as in the “Respond to Bid” section of the webinar. How do you find the various real time data sets (e.g., traffic, weather)? The traffic and weather data shown were sourced from the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. You can find those layers here: World Traffic Service and Recent Weather Radar Imagery. You can also incorporate your own real-time datasets, such as vehicles or trucks, with ArcGIS Velocity or ArcGIS GeoEvent Server. How long does it take to get from drone images to volume calculations? This can vary, but generally it takes about one hour per 150–200 images processed to received processed outputs. The volume calculations only take a few seconds to calculate once the imagery has been processed. Can you add a “nearest competitor field” in the “Respond to Bid” analysis? Yes, you can add other datasets like competitors, past bids, and other business data into this workflow. On the “Respond to Bid” analysis, is it possible to automate the drive time from nearest location when placing a point on the map? Yes, you can use the “Find Nearest” tool to identify the closest facility. Are the network and population datasets shown in this presentation available for purchase or only available in Business Analyst? These datasets are offered as standalone datasets, through Business Analyst, and through the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. Can we access the application that you demoed in the webinar? Yes, the application along with all of the maps and applications are available here: go.esri.com/Mine-to-Market Thank you for your time and attention. Be on the lookout for additional mining webinars. Warm regards, The Mining Team
