I have installed Insights and when I create a workbook nothing happen (no error) on refresh the workbook is visible, however I cannot access the workbook and get the error "Something went wrong". Also I cannot delete the workbook in portal with "Error:Unable to delete item". The work book is not delete protected. the Insights workbook is Hosted. Any ideas hoe to resolve this? Pieter

Hi Phil, Sorry to tag onto the last reply here but it's last item I tried to resolve installing the ArcREST without using ArcGIS desktop after failing with process you initially described above. I'm running ArcGIS 10.6 and downloaded ArcREST Version 3.5.9 Release. After getting an error I tried the suggestion of changing the PATH as described in the installation guide you linked to: Note: If you have not done so, you may need to add your python install path and scripts folder to your environment variables. In your system PATH environment variable, add both the path to Python and the Python Scripts folder. ex: C:\Python27\ArcGIS10.3;C:\Python27\ArcGIS10.3\Scripts And I've tried running the scrip via arcgis desktop and then through ArcCatalog with the source setting of "Run Python script in process" unchecked and both give errors (in order below as 1 and 2): 1. Executing: installarcrest false true Start Time: Thu Mar 15 13:43:58 2018 Running script installarcrest... Processing C:\Python27\ArcGIS10.6\Lib\site-packages ... Adding the ArcRest Module ... The issue seems to be specific to a Web Adaptor limitation, but there is a couple of workarounds you can look into. On a slow network or data connections the sync takes along time and then time out. Thus giving the error. Workaround 1: 1) Stop the server. 2) Edit the server.xml file in the following location : $\program files\arcgis\server\framework\runtime\tomcat\conf 3) Increase the connection timeout value of the connector tag to a high value 1000000 : 4) Restart the server. Workaround 2: Instead of increasing the connectionTimeout, add a new parameter to '$\program files\arcgis\server\framework\runtime\tomcat\conf' for connectionUploadTimeout and set disableUploadTimeout parameter to false. Workaround 1 worked for us.

I found that if you make the field a required field that it does not select current date but rather use the date when the file was created. By setting the date field to not required and also allowing Null values it will default to current date.

I am hosting various Feature services from my ArcGIS server to AGOL to be consumed in Collector. When using the Feature services in a connected environment, all updates can be pushed back to the server without any problems. The problem start when I download the same map to use in a disconnected environment. I can capture points and attributes and the data captured get stored on the device, but once I want to sync, the operation takes very long and eventually comes back with a sync error. This is only on Android devices. I have tested it on two different Android devices wit the same negative result. I also tested it on a Apple tablet and the disconnected sync works without any problems. Can any body assists? Pieter

Thank you for the quick response. It make sense to me that the sysdatetime function will not be available on the collector. Do you know of a way to get around this problem? I there a query available in ArcGIS that will do the same as the SQL Server Query?

Good day I have a feature service with a date query in the map project to show only the points captured in the last 7 days [DATE > DATEADD(day,-7,SYSDATETIME())]. I publish the feature service in AGOL to use in collector in the disconnected mode. When downloading it in Collector I get the error: "The map 'abc' failed to download with the message: Failed to create Replica." If I go back to the service and remove the definition Query and publish it again through AGOL. I can download the service without any problem. Can anybody assist with this issue. Kind regards Pieter

Hi I have auto populate the fields in SQL server. You can use a trigger or view by adding the following field to the view/ trigger. x.[SHAPE].STY AS lat, x.[SHAPE].STX AS long, It worked for us.

Thank you Russ, that helped. I think that will solve the download issue. Unfortunately I received an error "Unable to load https://MyServer.com/arcgisportal/sharing/proxy? https://www.arcgis/sharing/generateToken status: 403" I don't know if this might be an issue as well. Our organisation has a closed network and we opened a url to allow contractors to access our GIS pages and portal. We aliased the url. We only created a Domain certificate for the actual url and not for the alias. The alias url is used to access our network from outside our organisation. Must we create a Domain certificate for the alias url as well? Also when I try to add the tiled basemap it redirects me to a HTTPS url for portal and require me to add it again on which I receive the error attached. When I try to add my edit feature service it does not want to loads aswell due to the HTTPS url (unable to load). How do I get around this?

I have created a map project in Portal for ArcGIS to be consumed in the collector app on Android and IOS devices. I can open the app and edit and sync data in the connected state, but when I want to download the data on to the devices the following error occurs. "The map 'MYMAP' failed to download with the message: Message: Unable to generate token. Details: Invalid username or password." I have created tokens for the service url's and I can access the services on a web application. The only place where I am blocked is in the collector app download. Am I missing something? Has any one came across the same problem?

I have figured out how to add the tile, author and copyright on a custom layout template. First you have to add text to your map. Do the following in the text properties box: For Map title: Copy <dyn type="document" property="title" emptyStr = " "/> in the text box. In the Size and Position tab, type Map Title in the Element Name box For Copyright: Copy <dyn type="document" property="credits" emptyStr = " "/> in the text box. In the Size and Position tab, type Map Document Credits in the Element Name box For DATE: Copy <dyn type="date" format="MMMM d, yyy"/> in the text box. In the Size and Position tab, type Date in the Element Name box For DATE: Copy <dyn type="document" property="author" emptyStr = " "/> in the text box. In the Size and Position tab, type Author in the Element Name box Hope this helps
