Thanks so much @Alex-Santos for all of these suggestions and help. I believe that when I made the original edits I did so on the application page. When I realized the older text was 'sticking' in Twitter/X, I made the text removal edit in the Hub editor under settings > summary. I just checked the json as you suggested and I am also seeing nothing in snippet/summary is blank. I just did another round of testing. Interesting findings. Facebook does NOT show the older text but Twitter/X does. So, I think there is a strong likelihood that this is not an ESRI issue but a very weird Twitter/X issue. Very strange and frustrating. This tool is to report voter turnout data for an upcoming election and one way we get it out to the public is through Social Media.

Yes, I did have newer text in the summary but it was still showing the older text when linked placed into Twitter/X. I then removed the newer text entirely and it also still showed the older text.

Hello, Help needed for an annoying thing happening. I have updated the summary description of my Hub site to be blank/missing. However, when I go to post the link into Twitter/X I am still seeing the older, incorrect summary listed. How to I remove the older summary that seems to be "sticky"? I've already refreshed my browser history and that has not worked. Thanks, Jess

To follow up on this - I did not previously have any data that was actually connected to AGOL from my Onedrive. I was seeing a lot of my files in my Onedrive but in the list without any rhyme or reason. And I clicked through "More Files" about 20 times and never saw the file I needed, nor was I able to search - it's not working for me at all. I wouldn't call the entire problem resolved BUT the way that I was able to entirely disconnect my Onedrive from my AGOL was to log into my Microsoft Office Portal and I deleted the app that was connecting Onedrive and my AGOL. I then went to AGOL and indeed, I was not connected. I then re-signed in to my Onedrive in AGOL and the document that I was unable to find was in the first few clicks of "more files" but I was still unable to use the search function. I can't seem to find much out there on using these tools together.

Hello, I am wondering how/if there is the ability to disconnect OneDrive from my AGOL? If I select the OneDrive option to add New Content, I am automatically signed in to my OneDrive. I would like for this to not happen. Is that possible? Additionally, I am having a very hard time locating the file that I'd like to load into AGOL from OneDrive. Perhaps that's best for another question but any advice from folks on how to use the search effectively, would be immensely helpful. Thanks, Jess

Hello, I edit the "Placeholder text in the nearby app's Search Bar Feature. I enter different text in Interactivty > Search > Edit > Edit > "Placeholder" text. I can see the text update. Then when I look at the published link, the updated text disappears and is replaced with the default ESRI text. images below and link to the site: https://arcg.is/09WTOn0 Thanks, Jess

I'm having an issue getting a Story Map that is published and shared publicly (everyone) to open. This story has been published publicly for over a year. I checked in on this story last week and the link was working. Today, The image below that says "Hmmmm there seems to be an issus" is what happens when I and others I send the link to click on it. https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/8f340f261300440c92a8ce28f2e93853 https://arcg.is/1fKC5D I've republished this story as a test and the same error message appears. I've tried the link when I'm logged in and logged out. I've made sure that the app in the story is public. There are Power BI dashboards embedded in the story but I don't see why those links would be a problem. Message seen in Chrome. Seems like Microsoft edge does not give the error message. Anyone have an idea on why this might be happening?

I've got the same question and the closest I've found is the Select Widget allows you to click on Statistics and it does summarize the data. One annoying feature of the select widget is that it includes all of the numeric variables and there does not seem to be a way to remove the ones you do not want - I've removed them from popups and from the table but they still show in the widget. I also tried to rename them so as to sort them lower in the list but this also did not work.

Hi @Anonymous User I was wondering what the status of this was? Is network distance something that is available in the Nearby app?

@Anonymous User Thanks so much for taking the time to consider this. 2021 is off to a great start! I think that if you are going to continue to call this app Nearby then it definitely needs an option for network distance because straight line distance is very misleading when trying to show people how close items are to them that they have to travel to and in the case I point out above - only if you are traveling to a drop box by boat and then hiking to the location, is the town hall 4 miles away :). I can see where straight line would interesting in certain cases, so if other users like RobertFord are asking for it, go for it. Thanks again. Jess

Assistance needed with the Nearby app please! I am having trouble understanding how the results are ordered. If I turn on the distance measure (non-paid version) the distance is a straight line without taking into consideration islands or road travel measure/network. If I leave off the distance measure, the app returns many different nearby locations but they are not ordered in any particular way AND often, the location that is the closest is NOT at the top of the list. I tried to look through the the configuration but I don't know what am I missing to make the app behave as I would expect. Is it that I have to configure it somewhere else? Is it that the map is non-configurable in this way? Here is a link to the app I've made. https://ristate.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/nearby/index.html?appid=72c6ecd6bddd44cbbd3f007969fb1c35 Please any assistance would be greatly appreciated! #nearby #app please help!!!!! And I'm attaching a screenshot to show you how one of the users is reacting to the App.

I agree that Nearby would be much improved with a road network distance. Here's an example of why it's really important. I've created an Application for voters to drop off their Mail Ballots at a town hall that is closest to them. An Island Address is showing a town hall on main land (North Kingstown Town Hall) that is closer than the town hall on the island (Jamestown Town Hall). If you were to do road network distance North Kingstown would be 17 miles instead of the 4 that the app tells me. Voters ARE able to go to any town hall, but I'd prefer this app to tell folks that live at the top of the island that their own town hall is closer. To get around this weirdness I have turned off the distance numbers. No need to confuse the public. https://ristate.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/nearby/index.html?appid=72c6ecd6bddd44cbbd3f007969fb1c35

Thank you very much. That worked! If I can make a comment – it’s confusing for the message to be displayed as “No Description” if the descriptions pulls from the Summary field (and not Description field). Hello Aravind, Thanks for letting me know. I do have a summary and a thumbnail on this and the base map that it is built from. Please advise as to why this may not be working.
