Hi, So I have been working with ArcGIS Workflow Manager for Desktop (Classic) version for long and recently I switched to ArcGIS Workflow Manager Server on Enterprise 11. In the classic version we had the ability to build multiple child jobs from a single parent job however I am unable to build a similar workflow in the Workflow Manager for Server. What I actually need to do is that, I have an Inventory sheet in the form of an excel file with multiple records. Based on the category of these records, I need to assign the tasks further to the team Managers so that they can distribute the tasks to their team members. So in a way, I need to cascade this task assignment and create multiple child jobs originating from one parent job. I tried with the Advanced Assignment Job Type but it is unsuccessful. Additionally, is there a way, I can read that excel and actually use that to give the administrator an interface to select the tasks to be assigned to a specific user. Now I can work with geoprocessing but I am trying to limit that as much as possible.

I'm using arcpy.mp.LayerFile() to read a .lyrx file to further obtain the symbology object of an active layer in the template lyrx file. This symbology is then used to generate a new lyrx for another file. Now this script works perfectly fine when used as a geoprocessing Tool in ArcGIS Pro or as a stand-alone script working on Windows Task scheduler but it fails to work as a hosted geoprocessing tool on ArcGIS Server 10.7.

Hi Dan, I know how this works but this actually does not satisfy my requirement. There are certain requirements why I have chosen to operate using a .pyt and not a .tbx. What I need to know is that if there isn't any way we can add the description to the .pyt itself, is there a way we can embed the XML files in it or is there a way we can encrypt those files directly. Thank You.

I have created a Python Toolbox with multiple tools. Each of these tools takes multiple parameter inputs. Using the "Item Description" option from Arc Catalog, I have added multiple descriptions. This toolbox is further being shared with a user. Now I have the option of encrypting the python toolbox but not the XML files which are created in the directory containing the Python Toolbox, so I can share the toolbox but not the XML Files as the entire code has to be encrypted to ensure the user does not make any unwanted changes. The issue this creates is that the description I have added are not shared as they are stored in the XML File. Is there any way I can store the descriptions directly in the Python Toolbox?
