Hello all, I am currently having an issue trying to get a marker symbol and a text symbol to appear side by side. currently it is not working any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated on this. This is the current implementation: This is the desired implementation (i moved the symbols manually to show what i want): This is my code currently
IMarkerElement marker_elm = new MarkerElementClass();
marker_elm.Symbol = (IMarkerSymbol)EventRenderer.Instance.GetClusterSymbol();
IElement markELM = (IElement)marker_elm;
IPoint test = new PointClass();
test.X = -117.230968;
test.Y = 33.786846;
markELM.Geometry = test;
double xmax = markELM.Geometry.Envelope.LowerRight.X;
graphicsContainer.AddElement(markELM, 0);
test.X = xmax;
IRgbColor color = new RgbColorClass();
color.Blue = 255;
color.Green =255;
color.Red = 255;
IFillSymbol fillSym = new SimpleFillSymbolClass();
fillSym.Color = color;
ITextElement textELM = new TextElementClass();
textELM.Text = "THIS IS A TEST";
IFormattedTextSymbol textSymbol = new TextSymbol();
IPoint test2 = new PointClass();
test.PutCoords(xmax, 33.786846);
IBalloonCallout callout = new BalloonCalloutClass();
callout.Symbol = fillSym;
callout.Style = esriBalloonCalloutStyle.esriBCSRoundedRectangle;
textSymbol.Background = (ITextBackground)callout;
textELM.Symbol = textSymbol;
IElement elm = (IElement)textELM;
elm.Geometry = test;
graphicsContainer.AddElement(elm, 0);
Again any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, I am trying to use a graphictracker to display a cartographiclinesymbol. When I add the symbol i only get the end cap and not the actual line itself. Below is a small excerpt of my code.
public drawItem(IPoint fromPoint, IPoint toPoint)
{
IPointCollection line = new PolylineClass();
line.AddPoint(fromPoint, Type.Missing, Type.Missing);
line.AddPoint(toPoint, Type.Missing, Type.Missing);
//EventRender returns the explicit conversion of a cartographiclinesymbol to ISymbol
ISymbol sym = EventRenderer.Instance.GetAccessPointLineSymbol();
IGraphicTrackerSymbol arrow = arrow_Tracker.CreateSymbol(sym,null);
arrow_Tracker.Add(line as IGeometry, arrow);
}
Using the ISymbol to write to the ScreenDisplay does work in displaying the correct image but for other issues at work we need to not draw that item on the ScreenDisplay. Any Ideas??

Hi All, I am working with the runtime engine, i have migrated all of my code to the new standard with the exception of the Licensing. I ran the licensing manager on the file containing my static main. It added the license initializer class with no problem. I added the ESRI.ArcGIS.RuntimeManager.Bind(ProductCode.Engine) before the first arcObjects are called which is before the application.Run() I attached to the process to see where the code was crashing its crashing at the point where my licenses initializer runs Initialize() The error I get is: ArcGIS version not specified. You must first bind to an ArcGIS version prior to using any ArcGIS cmponents According to the migration resource im using that means that my bind command is not before the first ArcObject being called. But my bind command happens before anything else. Any insight here would be very much appreciated
