Use a LLM to train against many versions of metadata and subjects to suggest and draft a metadata for a portal or AGOL object based upon the key words used. Perhaps also use the summary statement in the initialization of the ChatGPT in creating the metadata summary. Allow users to edit further, allow LLM to further train on the enhancements made and corrections made. This would work perfectly on AGOL as well as portals with very narrow subject matters (medial geography, defense, etc.) Also - Ask me about View-A-Tor....

The current user types available to ArcGIS Portal have a significant limitation if users want to use ArcGIS Pro. That is the user types must be a foundational user type to use ArcGIS Pro. "What does 'requires foundational user type' mean? It is the user types that allow people to license the ArcGIS Pro capabilities and apps they need to do their work in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise" The above definition as a concept is ok for full time GIS professionals, but it does not acknowledge that some occasional GIS users only want to use ArcGIS Pro and reference ArcGIS Portal as a view only data resource. These users do not want to edit or interact with the ArcGIS Portal to publish or exchange content. Currently the "viewer" named user types can see the all the data in ArcGIS Portal, but they cannot use ArcGIS Pro software. Only a foundational user type can. I am suggesting that a new type of named user is needed to allow a "viewer like experience" with the ability to check out ArcGIS Pro. This is like a "viewer" and a "creator" coming together and becoming the: View-a-tor (Thanks @HarryMoore ). I am however suggesting you call it a "ViewerPro". The overall idea speaks to the idea that really any and all named users (that are not free) - need to be able to check out ArcGIS Pro software from Portal if their job requires ArcGIS Pro. This would allow users to use ArcGIS Pro - who are also not wanting or needing named user Portal publishing or editing functions. This allows non GIS professionals to use ArcGIS Pro from their desktop - but not Portal functions. This license model would allow concurrent license users to move away from FlexNet and allow their GIS admins to manage their GIS user base in Portal as named users types. One place in ArcGIS Portal or ArcGIS Online to manage all your users sounds great. The principal use case for this would be a public works engineer or an environmental analysts who occasionally needs to use ArcGIS Basic to look at GIS data and perhaps polygon overlays or imagery. These users have no intention or need to share out further their work or need to publish or edit in the ArcGIS Portal. I currently have dozens of users like this using concurrent licenses. I want to but cannot convert them to Portal because for licenses because I cannot justify the yearly maintenance or purchase of a Creator named users license in Portal and a desktop ArcGIS Pro Basic license. Please let me manage all my ArcGIS Pro users from a single platform and user base. Make View-a-Tor a reality!

I am told to received the proper instruction on how to install the software silently through MSI without user input, you need to contact ESRI. They will not publish the instructions here on the message board. Strange.

here are the specifics: Normally, an installer is either an EXE or MSI file, which can be scripted and silently installed directly on the users’ computers without the end user needing to interact with the installer. In this case, ArcGIS seems to expect the users to download and manually execute the installer (in this case, a .APPLICATION file), walking through the steps manually to get the dashboard setup. While the end users can go ahead and do this if they have access to that installer on their portal, as it doesn’t require admin rights, if we try to send out the installation over the network automatically the installation doesn’t seem to work. If the vendor can provide instructions on how to send out the installation silently to the end users over the network, that is what we need to find out.

I am having trouble with operations dashboard. Has anyone created an installation script to install the software via MSI? If so do you have any hints on the installation setup?

To correct this - do not use your personal user name with direct connect (machine authentication). You need to log in with the schema owner user name. This is usually the account that was used to administrate the feature classes or Feature datasets or the database base admin. The schema owner needs to be the one who administers and adds content. Otherwise your going to have individually braded tables that are created below the primary instance of the database - with user names attached, if this is done - ultimately you will have an unmanageable sharing environment.
