Also my preferred option! However for this particular workflow it isn't. It's odd that I didn't have any issues with it until about a week ago. Nothing has changed with my Pro install, and I can't imagine any Windows/Office updates would affect geodatabases in such a targeted way. Anyway, fingers crossed tech support can help out before I tear my hair out!

Thanks George. I tried that to no avail. It recovers a bunch of attribute tables, but not the features, nor the rasters (which apparently the tool isn't designed to recover anyway). I've logged the job with tech support, but thought I'd try the hive mind in the meantime! Appreciate the help!

Thanks for the possible tip, but unfortunately the answer is neither. Working locally off my C drive. And it is only happening with geodatabases - none of the files I have stored outside of a gdb have had a single problem.

Hi everyone, This has only started occurring in the last week, and it is driving me insane. Has anyone else run into issues with rasters or feature classes randomly disappearing from geodatabases? It isn't just happening with one gdb, it is consistently happening with all of them I am working with. I'll do some processing, save the outputs to a file gdb, do whatever needs doing. Shut my computer down for the night, reopen it the next day to continue working, and half the files in the gdb now come up as having broken sources in the project. I go to check the gdb itself, and the files themselves have disappeared, so it isn't just a broken link. It's happening with rasters, tables, and feature classes. The first couple of times I assumed it was a corrupt gdb and recreated everything from scratch, but it keeps happening, even with newly created geodatabases. Anyone seen this happen before and have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I can't actually get to the point where that's an option, because I can't get rid of the initial error message box. When I open the tool, the script error box pops up immediately. If I click the "yes" button to allow the script to run, then ArcMap freezes up and crashes. If I click "no", the tool window closes. There's no way to access the message at the top of the screenshot without first dealing with the script error box in the middle of the screenshot

Hi all To be clear, this error came out of nowhere. Everything was working perfectly yesterday, and today this started. No settings have been changed on my computer between yesterday and today. It occurs with every single tool I try to run, whether it be in Spatial Analyst, Data Management, Conversion Tools... Example below from when I try to run Extract by Mask. If I click yes to continue running the script, ArcMap crashes. Background Geoprocessing is disabled. Running ArcMap Desktop 10.7 on Windows 10 (Chrome is and always has been my default browser, I do not use IE or Edge). I know this was an issue on older versions of Desktop, but I was under the impression it was resolved? And why would this randomly start occurring out of nowhere when it was working fine yesterday? Any ideas on how to fix?

I have been looking at the documentation for the Train Random Trees Classifier for Desktop 10.7 and the documentation for the Forest-based Classification and Regression tools in Pro and have a couple of questions that I hope someone may be able to answer. There is more documentation on the RF tool for Pro, however I am trying to do this on Desktop as that is what I have access to, so am just wondering how much of the information on the Pro tool applies to the Desktop version? For example, my main query relates to this. The RF tool on Pro states that By default, 10 percent of the training data is excluded from training for validation purposes. After the model is trained, it is used to predict the values for the test data, and those predicted values are compared to the observed values to provide a measure of prediction accuracy based on data that was not included in the training process. Additional diagnostics about the model, including forest characteristics, Out of Bag (OOB) Errors, and a Summary of Variable Importance are also included. Does this also apply for the RF classifier on Desktop 10.7? Is 10% of the training data also set aside and is this how the training accuracy value that shows up in the Geoprocessing results is calculated? And is there any way to get the OOB errors out of the Desktop tool? Or is that only available using Pro? Appreciate any help!

Yes, noticed that when I was searching the community for an answer. Once we've got it working in 10.3, next step is to migrate it to Pro.

Hi all Having some issues trying to debug someone else's code in Desktop 10.3, and we've traced the issue back to a SetValue call in the script. Adding in our own messages at various points, it seems to make the new row without any issues, but has a problem with SetValue. Outputting the values of fldID and ID to the screen shows that those values are correct at the time of the function call, but using SetValue fails. Any ideas? Appreciate any help! try: VTabNNC = arcpy.InsertCursor(vTabNNPath) except: raise arcpy.ExecuteError("InsertCursor error") while fRBNDX: #gp.AddMessage(vTabNNPath) if len(strLn01) != 0: if len(strLn01.split(",")) < 3: strLn01 = "" try: #gp.AddMessage(vTabNNPath) #gp.AddMessage("Creating new row...") r = VTabNNC.newRow() #THIS WORKS #gp.AddMessage(ID) r.SetValue(fldID,ID) #THIS FAILS #gp.AddMessage(ID) VTabNNC.insertRow(r) except: raise arcpy.ExecuteError("Error creating new row")

It retained the first object it found. I might be mistaken on the specific details, but it looked like it stored each unique object from the original file in a temp file, compared the next object in the original file to the objects in the temp file, if the object existed in the temp file it wouldn't add it to the temp file as a new unique object. If it was a new unique object, it got added to the temp file. It then saved the temp file with "no duplicates" at the end.

Thanks. That answered the question. Be good if ESRI could formally document it so that I can reference it though

It matters in so far as I have to document it. It doesn't matter for practical purposes, it unfortunately matters for reporting purposes.

I've run Find Identical to flag duplicates in my dataset, that works fine. I've created a new field for duplicates, and now need to purge entries, but I'm not quite clear on how the Delete Identical tool decides which of the duplicates to delete? I highlight an example in the following image: Based on a number of attributes, the highlighted samples have been flagged as duplicates. However while I consider them to be duplicates, you can see they do not in fact contain identical values across all fields. This is ok as I know why it occurs, but when you set the field(s) to check on in Delete Identical how does the tool decide which one to keep and which one(s) to delete? Does it keep the first unique object it finds and delete any duplicates thereafter? For example, in the table snapshot above, would it keep the first highlighted object and delete the 2 beneath it? Does it iterate through the file based on FID/OID (so whichever had the lowest FID/OID value would be kept)? I just want to clarify which order it selects the objects to delete? Thanks in advance
