Appreciate Howard for quick reply. My organization is new to Pro. We want to stay away from Ericsson Network engineer. As you have said we can still use our datamodel but we don't have it. Currently what we have is Ericsson Network engineer and its datamodel. We are in the process of creating our own telco datamodel but what we know is Geometric network. The current version is 9.3.1. Also as per my exploration on esri documentation UN has its extension for various stream (e.g. electric , Gas, water). So in that case do we need wait for that ? and how it gives benefit to UN Datamodel ? IF we build our datamodel with some existing datamodel study , will we able leverage the benefits of UN functionalities that are currently available in Pro. In future as esri said earlier, if they come up with esri datamodel and UN extension for Telco how we can migrate. I need to understand this first. If you brief something on this lines would be highly appreciable. Regards, Rajesh Mane TechM

I have one small query. As you have said telco model not yet released. Can we still go for Utility Network and its extension. If yes, How ?

Hi Cantera, There is no solution as such which may allows to migrate the ENE datamodel to Utility network. What I can suggest create the new datamodel which feeds all business needs and comprise UN in it. We are planning to replace ENE. In this case ArcGIS is pro is a challenge as its only supports UN. So my above query is how UN will support following business needs which are mentioned above. Regards, Rajesh

Hi Greg, We are in process of upgrading our desktop system on 10.x. We are actually using Ericsson's Network engineer and planning to replace it with ArcGIS pro and subsequently web and mobile. Before moving further, I would like to know following things in order to support our datamodel in ArcGIS Pro. As current datamodel is in geometric network and needs to be migrated in Utility Network. Can we use same table structure as presently getting managed in Ericsson network engineer. If not then , How utility network will manage following things in its datamodel. Cable Units Structure Units Span Units Equipment Details Views Structure , Span details views connections of Equipment and cable Network traces required for Port to port tracing Can we get this information in esri's datamodel which supports utility network ? When esri is planning release complete solution of telco datamodel and its required extension of Network utility configuration would be released ? As did not find any write-up or white paper written on Telco Utility Network model as similar to electric , water and gas. appreciate for your response to move further. Thanks Dan for routing this issue to Schematics Specialist. Rick. I Remember I used to communicate with Rick way back in 2010 for my Sch Issues. Hi Rick, I appreciate your valuable information provided to my query But How following things can be migrated in new version Network diagrams component of UN 1. Existing Configuration of Schematics which is on ArcGIS 9.3.1 (Older Standard and XML Builder) 2. The diagrams which are built on existing 9.3.1 Sch Engine. Any idea of how to migrate those into Network diagrams. Regards, Rajesh Mane

Hi, Can any one throw some ideas , how Schematics which is built on Geometric network principals can be migrated to ArcGIS Utility network. I have following queries with regards to Schematics. As we are planning to upgrade our desktop GIS to ArcGIS Pro. 1: How traditional Schematics configuration works on ArcGIS Pro 2.1.1. ArcGIS pro has any extension for Schematics or we still need to rely on ArcMap Schematics designer. 2. we are planning to build Utility network for existing datamodel. How schematics will be generated on newer datamodel. What about migration of existing diagrams which are associated with existing features are in geometric network topology? 3 Any roadmap or timelines that esri planning to release new extension for Schematics for ArcGIS Pro ? Hi , I would really appreciate if anybody has idea on above topic. We are keenly searching for this solution.

Hi, My name is Rajesh Mane. We are planning to implement Utility network for our existing datamodel. Our datamodel replicated from Ericson's Network Engineer data model. It built on geometric network principals. Can any idea do we have anything similar which can ease our migration of existing datamodel to esri's utility network. Does esri provides sample datamodel which built on UN for Telecommunications and fiber networks. We would appreciate If ESRI throw some highlights on this topic as well. In my search , I saw several topics in Utility network that supports GAS , WATER and Electric but not much on Telco side. If any one has implemented or migrated their telco network then pls share your experience. I heard there is Utility network configuration extension required to built compressive datamodel. Any plans for release similar for telco ? If yes. By when ? Thanks in advance Regards, Rajesh Mane
