Good morning! I have a couple questions about how others may have used Survey123 and how to deal with a finite number of licenses: 1. I was wondering how others have used Survey123 for non-geospatial things? We have a lot of forms in PDF and MS Word format and I have converted some to Survey123 that have no real geo component to them. I've heard it argued that Survey123 should ONLY be used for geospatial information. Our department has hundreds of forms that my admin is asking to convert to surveys. 2. I create reports using the Report feature, but ultimately need to get live or near-live data into a database to do some other analysis in Tableau and other non-ESRI software. The issue with using Survey123 is that each user needs their own account. My department of firefighters has over 1000 members that would need access to the forms I want to create and our agreement does not have enough licenses to go around. Would it be possible to make a survey "public" but still only allow certain individuals access to the data? I thought I remember another blog somewhere that talked about using a "password question" that would, upon entry, show the rest of the survey questions. Thanks!

I have a webapp that lets users find the closest fire stations to them using the Near Me widget within the user specified buffer. Looking at the description, this is using Line Distance. I need to be able to use Street Distance. Alright, so found the Incident Analysis widget. You can specify Enable Routing, and Closest Feature cool. But this only shows 1 feature, the "Closest Feature" even though a buffer is set. So instead I set to proximity. Cool it shows ALL fire stations within the buffer ordered by closest. But wait the miles are different...proximity is using Line Distance it seems. Third time is the charm so lets try the Situational Awareness widget. This basically does exactly the same thing the Incident Analysis widget does but....looks different. The Closest Feature and Proximity give me the same miles however and coincides with the Straight Line Distance from the Incident Analysis widget and Near Me widget. Looking into the Analysis widget, I could use the Choose Best Facilities or Find Nearest tools, but they cost credits and my users cannot select a point on the map. I guess I have 2 questions: 1. Why aren't these all combined into one widget? 2. What should I be using to find a list of fire stations closest to a clicked point on a map based on road distance and not straight line within my WebApp?

I basically have the same question but I am using a feature layer as the data source for details. I do know that you can configure this via the "Configure Pop-ups" in Map Viewer if your layer is in a map that is in the same dashboard. However, if you are making a dashboard without a map and just using the feature layer itself as the source, there is no way to configure a popup for this. Ultimately, ESRI needs to add the option to configure pop-up / content in the config options of a Detail card in operations dashboard itself. This would mean no need to go back and forth from a map / layer to Ops Dashboard

Hello! I am trying to convert some Microsoft Word forms to Survey123. One of these forms (attached) is very customized with background graphics and other images. I was able to recreate the questions easily in the Survey123 webapp, but not the exact layout and look of it. I then created a feature report since those templates use Microsoft Word and I was able to produce the exact look and feel there. My question is how would I go about combining the reporting and the report? The MS Word form they use now is both the form and the report. Once they fill it out, it's complete and they email it and post it to website for all to see manually. There is no need to go into another webpage / system to bring up the report. I'm trying my best to convert our old MS Word and PDF forms to Survey123 so that we can start building dashboards and the like but it's resulting in a more time consuming process on the user end to complete the forms and THEN open a feature report (that also costs credits). Does anyone have any general pointers for this? Thanks!

@Anonymous User Thanks for looking into this! I would love to be able to choose either network OR straight line for EACH metric I show in my example. Thank you again!

It would be great to combine the road distance calculations of "Closest Facility" and straight line distance of "Nearby" in an Infographic. Right now it appears as though "Nearby" is straight line distance in both community analyst and business analyst. I would like to determine what the closest features are based on the road network like the Closest Facility Network Analysis does. It would be great to be able to select one or the other for each feature you want to calculate distances for. I work for a public safety agency and have created an infographic that shows distances to select features. The types of distances matter because the purpose of it is to show straight distances to threats where roads don't matter ( think explosions and spills from roads, rails, industrial sites, flood zones) and distance to places that could help that MUST use roads to do so (fire/police stations and hospitals). Below is an example of the report I created with certain details removed:

Thank you Jason! This helps me understand some other things but yeah I am ultimately interested in performing apportionment of median age and income to custom polygons using non BA tools. I've played with finding medians using bins (age groups and income brackets), but am still a little confused. Thank you again!

The title says it all. I am wondering what the methodology is behind ESRI Business Analyst apportioning things that aren't counts. I've read and understand the documentation on apportionment (Data apportionment—ArcGIS REST API: GeoEnrichment Service | ArcGIS for Developers ) but it does not mention statistics such as average, median,...etc. Thanks!

Thanks Michael! That was it! I guess I didn't realize that each dashboard element you create can only reference one layer at a time from the Web Map. Unfortunately, this introduces other issues. I want the pie chart to filter both layers. I have the "Clustered Events" layer show as the user zooms out and the "Events 2019" layer show as they zoom in. I might need to rethink how I want my dashboard to work if this is not feasible.

Hmmm....I must be missing something. I see my "Clustered Events" layer and my "Events 2019" layer in my Web Map on the dashboard but when I got to Add Target for the pie chart, it only shows my "Events 2019" layer.

Thanks Michael. I am using the Cluster Points Web Map feature (Configure clustering—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation) on an existing hosted point feature layer. This Web Map is used in my Operations Dashboard and I would like this to be updated based on a selection from a chart. Are you saying you see your clustered layer in Actions ---> Add Target? In my screenshot below, only my original point layer shows up from my map and I have added it (Events 2019) but it no longer shows the "Add Target" button indicating that my clustered layer (which is definitely on the Web Map) is not available to be used.

Hi Shaun! Thanks for the reply! So I would need to somehow make the cluster layer and heat map layer their own feature service layer? I should mention these are based off a point feature layer already and are displayed using Smart Mapping.
