Hi Rawan, We'll need some additional information to better understand the factors that could potentially be affecting the performance you're witnessing. - What version of SQL Server are you using? - What is your ArcGIS Desktop/Enterprise geodatabase version(s)? - Is the client machine that you are making these edits on located on the same machine as the database server? - What type of geometry are your feature classes stored in? - Is the performance issue strictly limited to editing operations? Is panning/zooming slow? GP tool performance? - Have you always witnessed latency or is this something that has recently occurred? - Have any architectural changes occurred recently? DBMS Upgrade? Moving data to a new server? - Are your feature classes registered as versioned? - How often do you run geodatabase maintenance? - Is performance only witnessed on this single feature class or is it database-wide? Regards, Quinn

Hi Jaya, Below is a link that contains the initialization parameters for the SERVER_CONFIG system table. ArcGIS Help 10.1 These paramaters can be altered but most of the parameters should not need to be altered from the default settings. I have seen BUFFSIZE parameters and TEMP locations altered in the past, but would not recommend altering settings without thorough planning and testing. Regards, Quinn

Hi Saroj, What version of SQL Server are you running? The ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server provides support for connecting to Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, and 2014. I suggest that you check that the SQL Server Native Client is installed on the machine running PHP as well. This is a requirement for using the SQLSRV extension in PHP. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36434 Download Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 Feature Pack from Official Microsoft Download Center PHP: Requirements - Manual You'll need to download Version 4.0 of the Microsoft Drivers for PHP for SQL Server. Version 4.0 supports PHP 7.0+. Download Microsoft Drivers for PHP for SQL Server from Official Microsoft Download Center Quinn

Hi Yan, There is no way to delete the Oracle database via ArcCatalog or any other esri tools. The database connection in ArcCatalog is merely an SDE connection file that is stored on the machine making the connection to the server machine. In order to delete the database you will need to use Oracle tools to do so. You can achieve this by running Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) or by using the DROP DATABASE statement in an Oracle developer program (SQL Plus, SQL Developer, TOAD, etc.). From the screen capture it looks like you're putting the incorrect SQL Server instance name into the 'Instance' parameter of the tool. You'll need to put the fully qualified name (AHCEC-GIS-H\HASSASRVR) in order to access the SQL Server instance Quinn

Hi Sarah, You may have the command line tools installed on your machine already without you knowing. Open up a command prompt and type in an ArcSDE command such as 'sdelayer' or 'sdemon'. If information is returned regarding the command you typed in then you know the command line tools are installed. Also, you can check the %SDEHOME%/bin directory on your machine to check if the tools are installed. If the command tools are not installed, you can download them from the MyEsri site by navigating to My Organization > Downloads > ArcGIS for Server Enterprise > View Downloads. Once installed, you'll want to run the 'sdetable -o create_view' command in a command prompt window. ArcSDE Administration Command Reference

The reason you are not being prompted for an authorization file in your third screenshot is because your SQL Server Express instance has already been authorized to store workgroup/personal geodatabases. This authorization would have occurred when you ran the ArcSDE for Microsoft SQL Server Express installation wizard. During this process you designate a SQL Server Express instance to use as a database server, a server administrator is added to the database server, a SQL Server Express instance is enabled to store geodatabases, and the software is authorized. ArcGIS Server Workgroup Microsoft SQL Server Express installation You create geodatabases on database servers in the Catalog window. Creating a geodatabase creates a new database on a SQL Server Express instance. ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) As Asrujit SenGupta mentioned above, the 3 connection limit indicates that you may be using an ArcSDE Personal geodatabase rather than a Workgroup geodatabase. You can run a simple statement in a new query window in SQL Server Management Studio to find the contents of the SDE_server_config table. Check the AUTH_KEY parameter value. SELECT * FROM [DatabaseName].[sde].[SDE_server_config]

Hi Linus, Were you able to resolve this issue? I have seen this occur when the version name and owner do not have the same syntax in the python script as in the Geodatabase Administrator window. If the owner and name of the version in the Geodatabase Administrator window reads "dbo.DEFAULT" you will need to ensure that the same syntax is used in the script. "DBO.DEFAULT" or "dbo.Default" would both fail and throw the warning message you are experiencing. Both the version name and owner are case sensitive. There is also a bug that has been logged identifying an issue with reconciling using OS authenticated users. NIM084500 - Arcpy.ReconcileVersions_management() fails to reco.. Quinn

Here's a document that talks about this scenario: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//006200000009000000 To summarize: - Reconcile/post and compress your edits - Unregister feature dataset as versioned - Create your topology - Register feature dataset as versioned. Be aware that unregistering features as versioned has the potential for data loss if edits still exist in the delta tables. 29160 - Compress a versioned database to state 0
