Hi Kathy, Thanks for providing more feedback. As far as offsets go, it may be worth looking at our Eos integration: Laser Offset Guide for Collector: How to Configure Esri & Eos Tools Pro I ask about the Apple pencil because it's possible to detect whether a pencil is connected to the device, so potentially we could provide a more tailored experience in that case (this is one option we are considering). -Nick

Thanks for clarifying the use case Zorba- it's very helpful. An enhancement suggestion is that once the user has authenticated one layer of a service, all the other layers from that service automatically become visible on the map. This sounds like the desired behavior from a design/UX perspective, so if it's not happening we should fix it! Let me investigate further to see if we can reproduce the issue here. Regards, Nick

Hi Zorba, Sorry to hear that you find the new experience cumbersome. I can offer some insight into why this change was made. In the previous version users would be challenged for credentials for any secure layers when the map was initially opened. For the uninitiated user, this could be confusing since there was no context for why these prompts appear. Certainly if there are multiple secure layers, several prompts appearing one after the other didn't seem like the best user experience. Also, if the user dismissed the credential prompt either intentionally or by mistake, the layer would not be loaded, and there was no mechanism to provide credentials without reloading the map. I would agree there is slightly more friction with the new UX, but we felt that it was balanced out by providing the user more context for what's happening, and also providing a mechanism for users to authenticate on their own terms. One thing to note is that when you authenticate successfully for one layer, any other layers that are secured with the same authentication mechanism and credentials should be automatically loaded, so you shouldn't need to tap through each one and provide the same credentials repeatedly. If that is not happening for you please let us know, or if your scenario is slightly different then it would be great to hear about it. Thanks for getting in touch, Nick

Ethan / Erika, Thanks for the feedback! We realize the change to how feature geometry is set is a divergence from how Classic worked. It's something we were conscious of during the redesign, and extensively usability tested with both existing and new users. Our main motivation was, as Erika states, to provide a way to accurately position points without your finger getting in the way or having to rely on the long press gesture to show a magnifier. On starting a new feature at your GPS location for points, that is something we carried over from Classic and made consistent for lines and polygons. The assumption being you are at the location of the feature you are trying to Collect. It sounds as though we might not be hitting the mark here- and will keep trying to improve this aspect of the app. Would it be possible for you to outline your workflow for digitizing polygons? Is this something you are doing in the field? -Nick

Hi Lisa, Thanks for reporting this issue. I can confirm we have identified the problem and it will be fixed in the next update we push to the app store (UC timeframe). The fix means that links will open in Safari- rather than in the app. Regards, Nick

Hi Mark, Thanks for your interest. The answer to your question is directly dependent on the maps and data you intend to consume with Explorer. If you can provide more details on your data and service configuration, we should be able to provide some general estimates- but we won't be able to guarantee usage stats. Do you deliver your data through map services or feature services? How many layers would be in the webmap? What geometry types would you be using? And how many features would you typically have per layer? What is the coverage of your data? City, State, National? Regards, Nick

Hi Kasper, We've setup and environment similar to what you describe, but unfortunately we're still unable to reproduce the problem. Is it possible for you to provide a screenshot of your ArcGIS Server Security settings? e.g what you see at the following page:http://[server_name]/arcgis/manager/security.html Also, please could you double check the connectivity between your device and the server in question- try to browse the server endpoint in a browser. Thanks in advance, Nick

Hi Michael, You mention that you used to be able to identify parcels by tapping on them. Just to clarify - we are just talking about a webmap with just a basemap and no operational layers? - the ArcGIS app drops a pin on a single tap- and returns an address in a mini-popup. Is this the functionality you are referring to? We have the same functionality in the Explorer app- but you need to use a long-press gesture on the map. A menu will be shown to let you "Drop a Pin"- this is the equivalent functionality- a pin will be dropped and the address will be displayed in a mini-popup. Please let me know if this helps. Thanks in advance, Nick
