Update: I filled out the survey that technical support gave me, stating what had happened and that in the end the technical support person had to update me because customer service didn't let me know that they had fixed it--and that I appreciated the effort on their part. I actually received a follow-up call from tech support wanting more details. So my advice is to fill out the survey they send, because they actually read them:)

And here's an update to anyone that says to contact technical support. I contact both my "customer service" rep and technical support. The guy from technical support said it is in the customer service domain, while the customer service rep tells me it is a technical support question. Is there a third option????? I have spoken to both on the phone and sent emails and now I don't know what to do--anyone have an idea? Of course this is a time crunch project.

I'm trying to upgrade to City Engine 2020. In My Esri it says under maintenance status that I have ArcGIS City Engine Single use for Windows Perpetual License version 2020.0. When I go to download, only Esri CityEngine 2019.1 is listed as an available download. I am probably just missing a step, but if anyone know, I would really appreciate it! I've been waiting for help from customer care, but haven't heard back. Thanks!

This is also happening to me since the latest Arc Pro update. It happens when copying a layout as well as inserting new map frames. I have used this same process for over a year and is just happening since the update. The Legend in the layout used to change automatically when I'd re-link it with a different map frame and this no longer works. I will take the time to document exactly what happens when I have time--but my workflow has changed drastically because of these new issues.

Do you get the same warning that the scene layer version is not supported? This is very annoying--I wish I hadn't applied the update

I finally did that as well. Luckily, I only had 5 3D layers. Does make me wonder what the "share as Web Scene" button is for though. Thanks for getting back to me, I was in a bit of a panic with a deadline looming.

Hi David, I am also having this problem. I get the same error: Scene Layer version is not supported. Detected version: , Supported versions: 1.x. Have you had any luck? I previously could share the web scene prior to upgrading to 2.5. I notice in the job queue it says problem submitting tile caching job--I checked all my projects and they are all good--no customs Suzanne

I'm using Drone2Map and Collector for field surveys. Drone2Map does not support Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere for the GCPs and the Collector map is made in ArcGIS online that has a default coordinate system of Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere. I have tried to add my own basemap to Arc GIS Online with the coordinate system I need--but when I try to share it the warning comes up that the web layer will used WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxilairy Sphere). I found a basemap in the portal that was GCS WGS84 and used that as a basemap and it worked in Collector (which I could use in Drone2Map, but I would really like UTM), so does anyone know where a UTM basemap of California is already in the portal, or how I can add a basemap with the coordinate system I need? Thank you very much!

Hi Cody, I am also having this problem with GCPs causing the same unknown exception message. When I take them out it processes fine. They were also collected with an EOS Arrow Gold and Collector. Thank you, Suzanne

Sure Scott, For the steps it is pretty easy. 1. I had just opened up the software and was opening the project "open a recent project". I had saved and closed the software the day before and was staring the software the next day. Nothing came up other than the screen shot of whatever I sent ESRI support. 2. It didn't crash--just wouldn't open that particular project. Older projects opened. 3. Kaspersky Could possibly have been something in a windows update. I run Windows 10 Pro on a 64-bit operating system. Suzanne

Yes, I read what you stated to Janaki. I just thought since my case was closed a while back and that the error is still occurring, that perhaps there were notes in my case or information that I already had provided that might help you with the problem. My mistake--Suzanne

Hi Scott, This happened to me last in May and this is the response I received from ESRI after I provided the corrupt project. Is it worth opening up again? If so can you just reference my closed case number 02114618? Thanks Hello Suzanne, This is Sydney from Esri Support Services writing in regards to case 02114618. I apologize for the delay in following up with you! Thank you so much for sending that project file. I did some pretty extensive testing with it and, unfortunately, I was also not able to open it in any version of ArcGIS Pro (including the most recent Pro 2.2 beta). We also have a method for inspecting the project files by attempting to unzip them with 7zip and check out the contents, but this was also unsuccessful as the project file wouldn't even unzip (a working project file would without issue). I suspect that this project has somehow become corrupted and you will need to rebuild it if you don't have a back up copy of it. Please let me know if you have any questions about this! If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out and I'd be more than happy assist. As always, I can be reached by replying directly to this email or by calling Esri Support and referencing your case number. Then I received this: Hello Suzanne, I looked over that error message we saw and it appears that at the end it's actually supposed to display a version number that the project was saved at (if it was actually saved with a newer version). Instead of displaying a version number like 2.0 or 2.2.1, all it shows is a single period. I did some research and it looks like other people had similar error messages when their project became corrupted. Unfortunately, it's a little hard to pin down why exactly a project gets corrupted as it can be caused for a number of reasons. It can happen sometimes if ArcGIS Pro crashes, isn't shut down properly, if there's some kind of bug that causes the project to corrupt using a certain workflow (this seems to be very rare but I've heard of it happening), but it can also be caused by something like antivirus software (again, this is very rare). Thankfully, project corruption is usually pretty rare and not that many people run into frequent issues with it. Usually what I suggest is making sure that ArcGIS Pro is up-to-date, that the software is closed properly (when possible), that your antivirus software has exceptions for ArcGIS Pro, and that you back up any major projects to a safe location in case you need to restore. If projects continue to get corrupted, I would suggest at that point to start with a full uninstall/reinstall of ArcGIS Pro to see if that resolves the issue. I would also suggest reaching out to Esri Support if you do run into any suspected project corruption issues as we can dig into the project some more to try and recover data from it (the 7zip method I mentioned in my last email works in a lot of cases though not always). Please let me know if you have any questions about this! I'm going to go ahead and close our case for now, but feel free to reach out if you have any other questions about this issue. As always, I can be reached by replying directly to this email or by calling Esri Support and referencing your case number. Thank you, Sydney Esri Support Services

I also have this problem that just started today and I have not changed versions. I have had numerous crashes on the project (when i could still open it) while simply editing the attribute table.
