Environmental Inspiration - Maps Make an Impact

Blog Post created by MeganMcClain on Oct 11, 2015

I recently got to go to a conference called ShiftCon that tries to join together bloggers and environmentally- concerned organizations and organic companies to bring awareness to the mainstream. A lot of the people in the room were like me - a little green - so the impact of the Center for Food Safety's map showing glysphosate use in relation to the declining Monarch butterfly populations there was an audible gasp in the room.

I haven't started it yet, but I reached out to a couple of companies for any work they may need done, since I know GIS. I got one possible bite that will help my resume look better.

Health and environmental causes tie together to me, so those subjects are my strongest interest I would like to continue in with GIS. We shall see where it takes me.
