CityEngine 2017.0 on Linux: Issues on systems with regional formats set to non-period decimal separators

Running CityEngine 2017.0 with localized settings, such as  Finnish, where the decimal separator for numbers is different than a period '.' can cause problems. This may lead to non-recoverable errors during coordinate system handling and may put CityEngine in an unstable state.

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Type export LC_NUMERIC=C.
  3. Start CityEngine from the same terminal by typing <path to installation dir>/CityEngine.
Note: Users may want to insert export LC_NUMERIC=C at the top of the "CityEngine" bash script directly, but ensure it is below the #!/bin/bash line .
