I'm used to Survey123 Connect where I use the calculation concat(string(${ycoord})," " ,string(${xcoord})) in a geopoint question to place a point on the map. The xcoord and ycoord questions are populated from long/lat attributes in an existing layer on a map. I now have to create a survey with Web Designer, and its a bit of a mind-shift. I could work out how most of this works, but I'm now at the point where I need to calculate the geopoint. I assume that I have to add a Map question with no default location, and make it a Cache answer. When I go to edit the calculation, I there's nothing available in "Select a question" or when I try to extract data. I even tried to create the xcoord and ycoord as text fields and then create a text field with a calculation to concatenate the two - so that I have a field to use in the Map calculation - but there's still nothing to select... I'm a bit stumped at this point....

@JamesTedrick I created a new survey with Survey123 Connect Version3.11.123. Published it and submitted a test survey to start building the report template. The survey's thumbnail on the 'My Surveys' page shows that there is one record. The Form, both feature layers and the map exists in My Content. When I open the map the pop-up shows the results of the test survey. However, the Data tab in "My Surveys" don't open anything - the three bars keep spinning. I tried in Chrome and Edge; cleaned browser history; opened it in incognito browsing mode, but nothing is happening. When I open the data tab for another survey, I notice that the top line looks different - The survey that doesn't open the Data doesn't have Options, Refresh Data, Report Tab or the Form View option Survey where data doesn't open This is the top line of a survey that does open the data Please help! Thanks Marie-Lou Update 30 April 2021: I installed Connect v3.12.232 to see if this would fix the problem. Created a new survey with only the first page of the original survey, published this and I could successfully submit a survey and see the result in the website. I then added a second page from the original survey but removed the repeat section - re-published and submitted successfully, with this record also displaying. I added the repeat section to the second page of the survey, accepted the warning that all existing records would be lost when I published the survey. I then submitted a new record - this time the website showed that there's one record, but the data doesn't display in the website - it remains on the tree spinning bars, even when I left it for an hour.... Looks like the repeat function is stuffing things up.....

@IsmaelChivite The survey has a group for each park. Each group has select_one questions to "score" a Pass/Fail. The choice sheet has different values for each Pass/Fail, e.g. list_name name label mark_15 15 Pass mark_15 0 Fail I use an integer question with the calculation int(${question1}) + int(${question2}) + int(${question3}) + int(${question4}) to get the total score. In the previous version, the integer question displayed a 0 when nothing was selected in question1 - 4. As you make the selection in a question, the value of the integer question changed. So, if only question 2 and 3 was filled in, the integer question will still add the values selected. In the version 3.12, the integer question doesn't display any value until question4 is selected. Is this due to changes in the new version? Anything I need to do differently to calculate values from select_one questions?

@IsmaelChivite I have a survey build in the previous version ArcGIS Survey123 Connect (style: pages theme-grid). I installed the version 3.12.230 this morning. The survey has a large number of select_one and select_multiple questions, each with between 3 and 10 select options. Every time I make a change & save the xls form, the "Optimizing survey" dialog appear - and it takes a long time to optimise ... I can understand that it need to build the indexes, but does it re-build the indexes with every save? It makes the design much slower.

Try ALT 8309. (I use ALT 253 often for ²). My Win10 has a bit of a problem adding the ALT 8309, so I added it from the Character Map Press Windows key + R to open up a Run dialog box. Next, type ‘charmap’ and press Enter to open up the Character map. Once you’re inside the Character Map, simply scroll through the available fonts and click on a special character that you want to insert. (You'll have to scroll about ¾ down the list to find ⁵) Then, click the Select button to copy it to your clipboard. Note: Notice that the Keystroke is also displayed in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Use that to verify whether you were typing the right number combination. Use Right-click > Paste or Ctrl + V to paste the special character you copied at step 3.

I created a survey with Survey123 Connect version 3.11.123 and successfully added two geopoint questions. I use pulldata @geopoint to extract the x & y coordinates for each question. The survey functions perfectly, and I have records with coordinates for the first question, and records with coordinates for the second question (where the values for the first question is 0). The records captured with the first geopoint display on a map, but the records with the second geopoint doesn't display. How do I display these second geopoint records on a webmap, so that my users can see pop-ups for all the data collected? I don't mind displaying the records as two different layers on the map - just need to know how to get the web map to "create" the point based on the second geopoint values....

When I use ${multilinetext1 | appearance:"multiline"} in my report to display my multiline comments with carriage returns, I get an error "Failed to parse ${xxxxx | appearance:"multiline"}. Filter appearance: "multiline" is not supported." when I try to upload the report template. The documentation warns that this expression will cause errors if not placed on a dedicated line, but I don't understand what this means... The Survey was created with Survey123 Connect 3.7.62, with a theme-grid pages style, so the appearance is w2 multiline, rather than just multiline - don't know if this will cause a problem in the report layout.

I added a note on each page "You haven't selected this option. Please go to the next page." with (selected(${multi_select},'B') or selected(${multi_select},'C') or selected(${multi_select},'D')) and not(selected(${multi_select},'A')and count-selected(${multi_select})>=1 in the relevant column in Page A. You'll need to change it around for Page B, C, and D, but although the Page still show, but at least its not blank anymore....

Yes, it does have a large number of questions. I attached the captured the log file when I tried (and failed) to publish the Survey again.

James, I tried to publish a new survey today and received the Error code 500. - removed the start or end questions, but I do have type time. - went to the ArcGIS Server Admin REST endpoint and stopped then started the PublishingToolsEx and the Publishing Tools geoprocessing service. - Portal 10.7 - Survey123 Connect 3.7.60 This is a big survey in theme-grid pages style with 9 pages. It has an external_choices tab with more than 40,000 address records as well as a few other smaller .csv's used in several pulldata calculations. Thanks, ML

Hi John We want to use this to audit the parking spaces in the city. There's signage at the start and end of each parking zone, but you can have a group of parking spaces with 120 min limits, where two are for disabled parking and the rest are for regular parking - which will imply that you start the 120 poly, start the disability poly, end the disability poly after two parking spaces, and then end the 120 poly when you reach the end of the zone. I'd like to take a photo at the start & end of each poly, as there sometimes are additional time restrictions for weekdays vs weekends. We need to add all those restrictions as attributes, but I plan to use the photo to get the info for the attribute updates. I'd also like the option not to take the photo, if it is just a straight forward timed zone with no additional restrictions. I plan to do a lot of post processing, as polygon capture is a bit of a challenge when it needs to be neat and regular - this will need to be cleaned up in ArcGIS Pro (unless you can help me with a idea of how to capture neat squares/rectangles with QuickCapture....) Cheers! ML

I've added photos to point, and used the JSON editor to make them optional, but it looks as if photo capture is only possible for points, not polygons or lines.... On a polygon or a line button, the camera option is not available. I tried to edit the JSON to change the cameraInfo mode to manual and "required" to false - which added the camera icon on the button in the designer, but the camera is not available when I open the app. I did enable attachments for the lines and poly's and enabled editing and sync.....

Hi James No problem. As a work-around, I built a one-button card, took a screen grab of it & saved it as an image. I then added the image in my Site and linked the Survey123 form to that. Works perfectly
