Hi Aletta, I see you are running CityEngine on a Intel integrated graphics board. That is not officially supported, we recommend to use dedicated NVIDIA ort ATI Graphics boards. However, there is chance you get CityEngine running on your graphics card. Your error message basically says CityEngine crashed in the Intel graphics driver, and I understand you think it's connected to rendering some images. I suggest the following: 1. make sure you have the latest graphics driver 2. if it still crashes, try enabling Preferences/General/Procedural Runtime/Rendering => "Disable GL Mipmaps" and/or "Disable GLTexture Compression". If you still experience crashes, can you please explain in detail what you mean with "When I import a *.jpg or *.png file" - do you view it in the asset inspector, are you using it with the texturing tool or are you writing cga rules which use the texture? Also, if the crashes persist, could you please provide me the full error message? regards Matthias

Dear all, we noticed that on some Linux systems, CityEngine crashes when the python console is opened. You'll get a message like java: cairo-misc.c:380: _cairo_operator_bounded_by_source: Assertion `NOT_REACHED' failed. That's a well-known problem with libcairo and there is a workaround: add the line -Dorg.eclipse.swt.internal.gtk.cairoGraphics=false to the CityEngine.ini file.

Hi Vanessa, This error might be dependent on what you enter in the "CityEngine Web Scene Package" dialog which pops up after "share as" (Item Description etc.). Can you try to minimize your input? Do you use some "weird" (non-ascii) Characters? I also saw a number of nullpointer exceptions in your log which seem to be related to the texturing tool. Some bugs in that tool were fixed for CityEngine 2015.0, can you try using the new version? greetings Matthias

Hi Veronica, yes, if Matt cries hole Zurich is on alert! It looks like you have some "illegal geometry" in your scene which triggers that error in the stack trace. For instance, that could be a static shape with ❤️ vertices. I am not 100% sure that also explains the error you see in the Web Scene Viewer but this is the thing you need to attack first. Try to systematically reduce the selection of shapes you export (e.g. disable some layers / select only parts of your scene) until you find the shape causing the problem. Sometimes there are "invisible" shapes (for instance only consisting of one vertex), which will have an entry in the scene view but you won't see it unless its selected. Please let me know if you find the problem. I also noticed a few strange errors in the log on your screenshot (bottom right), but I can only read the first few letters. I doubt these errors have anything to do with your export problem, but I would like to have a closer look. Can you please provide me the full log? You can find it in your workspace in the .metadata directory (.log). cheers Matthias

Hi Shane, The CityEngine exporters currently (2014.1) do not include atlas generation functionality indeed. You must use a 3rd party tool to do that, i would expect there are some Maya plugins for this purpose. Actually, i'm not sure what is the optimal material layout for unity performance. This heavily depends on how unity sets up it rendering datastructures. Do you have experience with that, i.e. could you describe it / give us an example? regards Matthias

Dear all, There is an issue with the latest security update of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 11 on Windows. If you experience crashes when trying to download Examples or Tutorials from within Cityengine, try one of the following: remove update KB2977629 from your computer or add the line -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=webkit to the CityEngine.ini file (typically in C:\Program Files\Esri\CityEngine2014.1; you must have administrator rights to edit that file so you might need to start notepad.exe as Administrator). Hi Bruno, There was a bug in CE 2014.0 which prevented displaying attributes of imported cga files in the inspector. The error you see is connected to that bug. However, the rpk "works", i.e. the model is generated as expected. The bug is fixed in CE 2014.1, I just verified it with your rpk. CE 2014.1 will be released very soon. regards Matthias
