How you would actually do this depends on if you're using Epoch time or decimal time. If in this case you want the day before the survey was taken, this sample would work for Epoch time: now() - 1000 * 60 * 60 * 24 What you're doing there is basically adding exactly the amount of milliseconds in a single day, so it comes to the time exactly one day before the survey was taken. Decimal time is a little easier to read in this case, because it works on days. This means that your now() - 1 example is right, although it does look a little different since it needs to be converted back and forth. date(decimal-date-time(now()) - 1)

Hi Naomi, You shouldn't have to worry about that first point, logic like now() is still fully functional. This update to date and time fields just provides an alternative way to handle time. As to your complaints about the scroll interface, unfortunately there's no way to do this just yet.

Hi Dugan, This can be done, although it's a little difficult, especially given the re-categorization of some fields. Check this page of Survey123's documentation for more information: Troubleshoot—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS

Hi Charleen, This is because that message box is a product of the app, rather than the form, which has less language support. Specifically, Mongolian, Kyrgyz and Tajik are not languages Survey123 supports, so while you can use them within your form to a limited extent (as you've figured out), the rest of the app won't display in those languages. As an aside, I'm guessing the reason Kyrgyz displays Russian instead of English is because Russian is an official language in Kyrgyzstan, but I'm not sure.

Hi Keith, The documentation page on submission URLs was replaced with a page covering the same workflow in more general means, as submission URLs are no longer the only (or necessarily the most appropriate, depending on your needs) way to make a survey linking to a preexisting feature service. Use Survey123 with existing feature services—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS

Well, as part of the development team I am admittedly a little biased. But the first thing that really excited me about Survey123 when I started trying it was when I realized how flexible it was, and just what systems I'd seen elsewhere that I could adapt into surveys. And this doesn't even include actual surveys! My test 'surveys' include a political doorknocking script and a functional adaptation of how a particular video game challenge run works, both of them born of me going 'hey, I wonder if I can do this'.

Hi Andres, I think you're using Windows Vista judging by the appearance of the Start bar, is that correct? I did a quick googling of the error message, and a lot of what came up were PC games right around when Windows Vista stopped being widely supported. Indeed, Survey123 doesn't support Windows Vista either, the minimum supported Windows version is 7. Sorry to say, but you'll have to upgrade your machine!

While this might not be causing this problem in particular, I do want to point out that it appears your version of the Survey123 app is quite old (I'd guess it's a version from before last year's UC, since that's when the UI was updated). Updating would give you a lot of added support, especially if your version of Survey123 Connect is more recent as well.

Hi Kierran, This isn't currently possible, I'm sorry to say. Part of the next update of Survey123 (currently available in beta, to be released soon) might be of use to you, though, as part of the survey editing interface is a map of records already submitted.

Hi Vanessa, There is some supported metadata fields in Survey123, both from that list and outside of it, but none that fill your specific need, unfortunately. There might be alternatives to what you're asking to confirm that an entry is from one of your volunteers, though. A recent one that came up that I quite liked was https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123/blog/2017/03/03/add-a-password-to-a-public-form-using-pulldata, which might help to confirm that the source of a response can be trusted.

Hi Glen, Good to see you figured this one out quickly! Survey123 has a fair amount of appearance types for different question types, so if you feel like you have issues with making your survey look how you want but not necessarily with how it works, check out the Appearance page in our documentation. Hi Alexis (and thanks Dan for linking this to the Survey123 group!), You aren't misunderstanding the default value, but hidden fields won't support them like this. What works for what you want is to create a text field with that as a default, that is always hidden through the 'relevant' field. In your case, you can make sure it never turns up by linking it to a select_one question asking for a result that isn't in the choice list. It's a bit of a rough solution, and there's probably a more elegant one, but it works.

You're right here unfortunately, there's no way to do this yet. Depending on the workflow, an external select might work. Cascading and external selects—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS What you're describing specifically is handled by search() in the XLSForm specification, which is still being worked on being included in Survey123.

Hi Ryan, There's two things you could be asking here and I'm not immediately sure which one you meant, so I'll answer both. Assuming you mean populating the actual choice list from a CSV, no, this isn't possible. That's the purpose of the search() function in the XLSForm specification, which hasn't been implemented yet. If you instead meant the survey using pulldata() to select a default answer for a multiple choice question, there's no reason this wouldn't work.

Hi John, I see you've already figured this out, but yes, leading zeroes are needed to make decimal calculations work, and this is expected behavior.
