Yes, since they are of type `Hub Site Application` you can also access them using Hub's Python API. Look at the examples in the repository for guides on how to do it. For non Hub item types you can use the Python API.

The content in your Hub is hosted within an ArcGIS Organization. Here is an example to access that content using the ArcGIS API for Python. Hub's submodule within the Python API or Hub's library (arcgishub) can be used specifically for managing your Hub items (initiatives, sites, pages).

To access all the items in your Hub (organization), you will need to use the `gis.content` submodule of the ArcGIS API for Python.

@JaredPilbeam2you are running into an error because you are signing into your Hub site. You need to sign into your Hub organization (as you have shown in the first code snippet) and then access your sites using the gis.hub submodule of the ArcGIS API for Python. Alternatively, you can also use Hub's Python API https://github.com/Esri/hub-py/ but you will still need to sign into your Hub (org) and then fetch the particular site you wish to work with.

In that case can you email me a screenshot of the exact code + error trace in the notebook? Also I'd like to know: 1. Are you running this in your local environment or ArcGIS notebooks? 2. Are you using the `arcgis` package or `arcgishub` package? 3. Do you have the most updated versions of both those packages?

Let me give you an example for your case: ``` layout = mySite.layout #Assign same value with change to layout layout.sections[0].ROWS[0].cards[0].component.settings.markdown = "<h1 id='our-community'>New Text</h1><p>The information included below provides context for the Hazard Mitigation Plan. Environmental, social, and economic characteristics of a county make it unique. </p><p><br></p>" mySite.update_layout(layout) ``` Refer to the notebook and the Github repo I shared earlier for examples on how to edit sites and pages.

When you `print(thelayout.sections[0].ROWS[0].cards[0].component.settings.markdown)` what does it display? Overwrite the same value in the markdown variable and only replace the text string with the text string of your choice. Also, you can only update the layout if you own the page/site OR are part of the initiative core team OR an org administrator.

you need to edit the text within the html of the particular card. Fetch the card (as demonstrated in the example notebook), edit the card to replace text as seen on the site with the text you would like instead, and then call the update_layout method with the changes.

This week we look at ways to extract data from social media platforms like Twitter. Over the years, Twitter has proved to be a gold mine for learning about events happening in real time and the social reach and impact of those events. Most people tweet about their opinion or experience regarding an event by tagging and mentioning relevant twitter handles (accounts) or by using hashtags that categorize their tweet and helps users find content related to the hashtag or topic. This data can be used for research as well as to obtain civic and demographic insights. Accessing publicly available tweets for our city or local region helps invert our lens and understand the general public and what matters to them. We will show you 5 different techniques of extracting and filtering data from Twitter, and to publish it ArcGIS making it usable within several compelling apps. Curious? Click here to learn more.

This week we shift gears to analyze a data catalog for a Hub. A Data Catalog, simply put, is an organized inventory of data assets and their metadata across all the data sources in your Hub. Click here to read more about this in our blog post. We have set up two notebooks to analyze data catalogs with different sources of data. One notebook can be used to analyze basic summary of any data on a Hub, even those with data distributed across multiple different platforms (including the ArcGIS platform). We demonstrate this notebook with the City of Seattle's data catalog. The other notebook can be used to analyze both basic and advanced summary of ArcGIS-hosted data on a Hub, i.e. one with all of its data on the ArcGIS platform. We demonstrate this second notebook with the data catalog of Washington, DC. Links to Notebooks: Summarizing data assets of a Hub Summarizing data assets of a Hub (advanced)

Hi, I just cloned an initiative in another organization and I noticed that it works fine. This indeed was a problem in an older version of the API and has been fixed. Are you using an older version of the API or have you updated it in the last two months? If this issue persists after updating the version of the API as it is on the repository as of today, https://github.com/Esri/hub-py do you mind sending me the initiative id of the initiative you are trying to clone? I will inspect it further. ~Manushi.
