Hi there, I'm a developer in a web map project. I'm working on an offline Import-geotiff task, everything works great besides compressed files.. I am using a library that parses the file but can handle only uncompressed files and with Packbits compression. That's how I did it: The library provides me the image location and creates a canvas element with the image, then I create a graphic where the image should be and with a symbol of the image and it's size. The symbol is made using jsonUtils when the url is canvas.toDataURL() (In that way the canvas gives us a dataURL of a .png so the browser can handle this). The size of the symbol is changes as the user zoom in/out. My questions are: Most of the tiff/tif images we work with are compressed with the LZW system, is there any way I can decompress the image before I start the process? Or any way I can parse the file? My solution with the symbol seems to be a little bit awkward, Is there any better way to do this? If the above doesn't make sense - has anyone ever managed to import a tiff to a js client without using server side tools? Thanks in advance, Ophir.

Hey, let me describe my problem in a different way. I have a map server that displays data about house locations from a database, and every house has an unique ID. I have an external service that gives me extra details about each house. What I would like to do is joining the data from the database and the external service and display it in the client side. I know I can can code it in javascript, etc. But I would like that it will happen in the server side (e.g an SOI that will do that). Thanks!

Hey, I want to add a field with an SOI, I mean like, when someone access the map server (e.g access the url "http://server.domain/arcgis/rest/MyMapServer/MapServer/0"), the SOI checks if a specific field is exists in the following layer and if it's not, then add it to the layer. That way when I want to export the map server with a filter expression, I can filter it with the new field. Thanks.

Hey, I was wondering if it possible to use SOI to add fields to a layer in a map server. I know I can add attributes to graphics, but I need to add a field for fillter expression. If it matters, I develop the SOI in .Net Thanks.

Hey, I want to make my site available in offline mode. I have succeeded getting my tiled layers stored in a local storage and it's working offline. The only problem I have is getting my dynamic layers stored.. I have tried anything, but the problem is getting all the images from the server to be stored locally (it's too much data). Only option I have in mind is getting all the features with a query task and draw them in the client, but the problem with this option is that my symbology is very heavy and I don't think I can draw it in the client side. I need to know if it's possible at all to make a local dynamic layer in javascript (I saw something about it in the .NET and WPF api), and if it is, how I do it? Thanks!

Hey, I'm trying to add 2 tiled layers to my map and the map shows only the first. However when I tried the same thing in SIlverlight API it works just fine! I tried to search over the internet for solutions and I have found none. Any solution please? Thanks! P.S I consume the layers from a third party source so unfortunately I don't have access to the data

Hi all, I have problem with a query layer. I have a table with a geography column in my SQL Server 2012. I defined a query layer over that table and even though MSSQL has no problem showing me the shape and spatial results, ArcMAP insists that the shape is invalid saying "The specified coordinate exceeds the valid coordinate range". Any help is much appreciated! The version of ArcGIS is 10.2.1 and the shape is a regular short LINESTRING Thanks in advance, Alex.
