Thank you so much - I was having the same issue - creating the folder connection in the catalog pane worked.

Are these ethnicity variables available in the 2022/2023 release either on BA desktop or BA online? The detailed ethnicity report is no longer available but I was hoping to append these variables to generate a custom report.

Hi Jordan, the prior report was created using local BA (2010 census) data. I checked my licensing and all appears to be well with that - screenshot attached. I have searched for those variables in the all the BA datasets I have access to and I don't see them so perhaps they are not offered anymore.

I have several custom reports in Business Analyst Desktop that reference ACS variables - specifically Asian Population and Hispanic or Latino Population by Origin - see attached. When attempting to run the report this week, the variables are not found nor do I have the ability to add them when modifying the report or using the Business Analyst enrich tool. Eventually, I found the data in AGOL layers and downloaded those into PRO and used the summarize within tool to append the census tract information to my trade areas. From there, I was able to at least download the data into Excel to replicate the format I had created when downloading the previous custom reports. Is this the only way to reference the ACS data or am I missing something when I installed the local 2022 Business Analyst data on my system? I have not had this issue before so I am wondering what changed. Thanks.

I found the smooth tool under the generalize editing tool if this helps. I could not run the smooth geoprocessing tool because of licensing. Go to Edit > Select Modify (Features) > Select Generalize (located in Reshape Tools) > Choose Smooth Method (there are three available methods) > Select your polygon Once you select your polygon you will be able to see a preview of how the generalize (smooth) tool will affect the selected polygon.

I found a blog on github.com for creating the Predominance Toolset in Arcmap. I have replicated all the steps and have the two geoprocessing tools: When I run the Calculate Gap there are no fields available to select. My input feature class is a subset of block groups with a few demographic variables. Has anyone used this toolset in ArcMap? I know there is the option to map by this in AGOL, but I need static maps for many different areas at block group level. Any help would be much appreciated.

When looking at the BDS Demographic Layers (2017) , I don't see any Consumer Spend information (i.e. Dining Out Consumer Spending) X1130_X 2017 Food Away from Home X1130_A 2017 Food Away from Home: Average X1130_I 2017 Food Away from Home: Index X1131_X 2017 Food Away from Home - Meals at Restaurants/Other I see other demographic variables in the table such as: Population, Households, Age, Income, SIC (at all geography levels) including Tapestry information and I am able to run Consumer Spending reports. Is this information located in another Business Analyst dataset? I was hoping to create a table for particular counties with only consumer spend variables. Thank you, Lori

Currently, I use the "2015 Business Analyst - Basemap Layers" as my basemap in ArcMap. I am in the process of transitioning my workflow to ArcPro and I am using the "2018 Business Analyst - Basemap" as my basemap in ArcPro . I notice that the link to the Roads layer (local roads/streets) is broken starting at 100-50k, 50-25K, etc. I try to repair the link by setting the data source - selecting the feature class (Streetscarto) in the appropriate geodatabase (see attached), but once I select the Feature Class, it states that the "Layer's data source could not be changed." and Feature Dataset/Feature Type is "Not Available". I thought that this may just be an issue with how I was referencing the 2018 Business Analyst Basemap, so I brought the 2015 Business Analyst Basemap Layer into ArcPro, and I have the same issue starting at 100-50k. I was wondering if I need to reference a different feature class/dataset in ArcPro to have access to the detailed roads? I have attached screenshots of this issue using both the 2015 and 2018 Business Analyst basemaps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I include detailed roads/streets on most of the maps I create, regardless of the zoom. Thanks, Lori

I'm having this issue also. My legend feature counts are accurate before exporting the map to a jpeg, but once exported, all the feature class counts on the legend are "1". As a work around, I have converted the legend to graphic, so the feature counts are correct and static. Not ideal, but at least it doesn't involve typing in all the feature counts.
