Hi! I had made that repo private because it was so old. But I just re-published it temporarily to you can access the code, so the link should work now. Incidentally, my 3rd party slider of choice these days is the noUiSlider<https://refreshless.com/nouislider/> (in case you’re looking for one). Lee

Hi Carly, I would recommend building on the JQuery slider. That's what we did for our National Parks timeline story. The nuclear moonscape timeline was written entirely from scratch, so it may not adapt well to other environments . But if you want to see the code, the repo is here. Lee

Hi Chaya! Probably not the answer you're looking for, but...I think the best way to have the icons sync up like you're intending is to manually author same icon set. I think you'll have to manually assign each point its icon. Sorry this is inconvenient. Countdown was originally conceived to show imagery in the larger map...so we didn't really think about dual display of icons. Lee

Hi Chaya, Alas, this would also require customization of the javascript to fully operate as you intend. The zoom level is determined at the beginning. As Chris correctly indicated, you can change the settings in the config (say, inititalZoomLevel = 5 and initialZoomLevelWide = 6). This will probably produce the results you are looking for when the overview map is small. But this same zoom level will be applied when the map is large, and chances are that won't look right -- unless the zoom level accommodates all of your points. Lee

Hi Chaya, I think probably the easiest way for you to add those icons would be just to add them manually into your large scale webmap (during map authoring). The large map will then show all the icons; however, the icons won't be as "active" as the icons in the overview map -- in other words they won't change color on selection or respond to mouseover etc. If you really want to have both maps show the point datasets in equal manner, you'll have to modify the javascript code. Unfortunately, the config doesn't support adding points to the large scale map. Lee

Hi Meghan, The source code for golden eagle is here. The "curtain" effect is really a very small part of the code. If I were you, I'd just study the page layout (html and css). And then check out a function called retractSplash(), which is very short. Lee

Hi Chaya, There are a couple of ways you can approach this: 1) You could add the following line to the #info CSS: overflow-y: auto 2) There's a setting in the config called popupHeight. You could increase that value if you want to lengthen that display area and avoid the overflow altogether. Hope this helps! Lee

Hi Kate! Unfortunately, there's no non-developer solution for automatically piping a Twitter feed into your story map (or web map). We have published a number of #UCSelfie type apps over the last year or so, but the configuration is still pretty gritty -- you have to download and host not only the client web files, but also a Node.js app. If you're still undaunted, the client files are available here, and the node.js files can be found in this repo. Far more encouraging news is that we're rolling this twitter listening capability into our crowdsource solution. It is also still in laboratory form, but we're working to make this available as a configurable solution to our users. Lee

Hi Bertrand, The value looks like the layer’s internal name – as encoded in the web map. It is read from the response object (response.itemInfo.itemData.operationalLayers) that is returned from the createMap() call. I took a look at the code for the app you have referenced. Attached is a graphic which I believe shows the Javascript code changes required to populate that list. Changes seem to be isolated to the initMap function. Lee

Hi Don, Can you share the app (or minimally, send a screenshot of what you're seeing)? I'd to take a look at how the app is configured. You should be able to hide fields. Lee

Hi Chris, When you say that you're using the html file locally, does that mean you're pointing to the file using a file system path? In other words, does the URL in the browser address field start with "file://"? If that's the case, I would not expect the app to work. The app is intended to be accessed through a web address, even if it's just your machine's localhost. Lee
