Thank you. I have never really used templates so that never occurred to me. I just created one and it works great. Thank you for the suggestion. Kevin

I am an ESRI user of almost 20 years, and I am trying to start using Pro. I have had several issues to which I have found workarounds, but one I cannot seem to figure out. When I create a new project, I always have to re-establish my SDE connections. In ArcMap and ArcCatalog, once I set up my connections the first time in Catalog, they were always there for anything I wanted to do (including creating new projects) But now in Pro, even though I have created my SDE connections in Catalog, if I start a new Map project, it does not find those connections, and I have to re-create them for each and every new project I want to make. I may be missing something here, but this seems like a step backwards.

Thanks for the advice. We have run the service as our domain administrator, and we are still getting the error.

I am new to ArcGIS Image Server, and I am having some problems post-installation. I have installed the software, and as per a former co-worker's instructions, I should navigate to localhost:6443/arcgis/manager to create a new site to host my image services. When doing so, I keep getting this error....... The server was unable to access the URL 'https://IMAGE1.NLCOG.ORG:6443/arcgis/services'. Please check your firewall and security settings. For more information, see the ArcGIS Server help topic Ports used by ArcGIS Server. You can access this topic in the table of contents by navigating to Administering ArcGIS Server > Securing your ArcGIS Server site > Configuring a secure environment for ArcGIS Server. I showed this to our IT guy, and we completely disabled the firewall, yet we are still getting the error. I know there is a key step we are missing, I am just not sure what it is. Like I said, I am new to this, so all I have to go on are instructions left by someone else. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Kevin

I have some scripts that we use in our office to backup our gdb onto our backup server. I checked them the other day and some are failing saying that the data already exists. I have overwriteoutput = true, so I am not sure why it is not overwriting the data. I am attaching a screenshot of the script and the error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kevin

I was able to fix it today. A friend had asked me if I had any erroneous A & D tables. I found some and deleted them, and now everything is registered as versioned. Thank you both for your help and input. I hope you have a great week! Kevin

Is that something that can be done in Oracle Database Control? Sorry, I am not too familiar with all of Oracles tools & functionality.

Yes, the backup database is the same as the production database. I needed to upgrade our Oracle from a 32 bit 11g R2 to a 64 bit 11g R2. To make sure that this process went smoothly, I first installed it on my desktop machine (windows 7 professional) and copied all my data from the 32 bit Oracle to this new backup 64 bit database. Then this weekend I upgraded the Oracle on our production database, and copied the data back into it from the database on my machine. I was looking at it earlier and noticed something odd....Whenever I go to register a dataset, the 'register as versioned' dialog box pops up. There is a check box with 'Register the selected objects with the option to move edits to base'. In all the datasets that versioned properly, this was an option that could be checked. In the datasets that won't version, this is greyed out with the statement 'One or more of the selected objects does not support moving edits to base. This option is not available'. So it sounds like there is something up with the data. The really odd thing is that 2 of the 3 datasets that won't version in the production database WILL version on my machine. The only one that won't is a parcel fabric dataset that was sent to me from our ESRI rep. I know that these datasets have large amounts of data in them, but the last time I tried to register one of them as versioned, I let it run for over 2 hours and it never completed. All other datasets usually take less than 15-20 seconds. Hope all of this is clear enough to understand! Thanks! Kevin

Hello all, I upgraded our Oracle db software this weekend to 11.2.0.3. In doing so I created a new gdb on our production server. Prior to this, I copied all of our datasets to a backup db. Once the new production db was ready, I copied the datasets into the new db. I haven't had any problem registering the datasets except for 2 of them. Not sure what the problem is. I am able to see the data just fine, but when I try to register them as versioned, it just hangs up. The last time I tried it, it ran for 2 hours before I decided to kill it. Any thoughts or ideas? The 2 datasets are assessor information with large feature classes. One of these is a parcel fabric. When I copied them to the backup db, I had no problem registering them as versioned. So I am not sure if the problem lies within the data or within the db. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am running Oracle 11g R2 and ArcGIS 10.2 on a Windows 2008 Server. Thanks, Kevin

I am trying to install ArcSDE 10.0 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 machine. Whenever I run the ESRI executable, I get the popup "The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel" I have ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 as well as ArcGIS Server 10.0 loaded on this machine. It has Oracle 11g as well. I have installed SDE 10.0 on other machines with similar configurations, and it works fine, so it seems to be something with this particular machine and this software. This machine has had ArcSDE 10.0 installed on it before, so I am not sure if something got left in the registry or what. Any insight or help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

I am not sure if this is an image server question or a desktop question. We have an end user in one of our member agencies that is having trouble getting services from our image server. She is running ArcInfo 10 SP3 on Windows XP. She added the 'add image server connection' button to her tool bar to be able to look at our orthos. The problem is, when she types in our IP address and hits the 'get services' button, she gets a fatal error message and ArcMap shuts down. This also happens if she tries to open an existing map with orthos in it. No one else in her office is having this problem. I got her to ping our image server, and she could hit it. This has me stumped as I have never seen just one end user have a problem like this. I am assuming it is something on her box, but I am not sure what to look for. Has anyone else run into this problem or shed some insight on this? Does image server have a max. number of connections that it will allow? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Kevin

We have daily scripts that run at night which compresses our database back down to state id 0. One of our end users established a direct connect to our Oracle database yesterday through their server. Now our SDE isn't compressing. I noticed this morning when I tried to kill all the users, it wouldn't let me kill the DC connections. Is there a way to still compress the database while there is a direct connect on it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kevin

I am having a problem deleting a feature class from our SDE. Apparently the table was deleted in Oracle, but the feature class still shows up in the dataset. It actually won't let me do anything with the feature class because it has no table. We are running ArcGIS 10 with Oracle 11g. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried deleting it through ArcCatalog as well as SQLPlus. Thanks, Kevin
